Cassian A new day, a new hope and a new issue, that’s my life. Though, i did got some sleep finally but Alarous’s tricky ass made me jump when he scattered all the crockeries inside my kitchen. I rushed immediately to check, but found a bowl and a spoon was safe and the rest of the utensils were lying on the floor. “What the heck?” I frowned and rolled my eyes. “Sorry, I messed up. Don’t worry, I will take care of it…” Alarous said while picking a few of them. “What were you doing? I hardly got any sleep and when I got some, you started making it harder for me… uhhh” the frown on my face deepened. “I am so sorry, dude, but this wolf is hungry and has to fill up my growling stomach before this whole place becomes a mess.” he put the pot on the stove and ignited the gas.  Poured some water and boiled it, later he added instant noodles. The aroma hit my nostrils and I realised that I am also starving. Too shy to ask from him, I silently placed a bowl next to his.. And tapped my fingers on the slab purposely.. “You don’t have to do this, I have made noodles for two..” Alarous said while his eyes were fixed on the pot. I smirked and tried to hide my smile. “You should smile more… life is short and shorter for your teeth…” he pointed and i got  stunned. “Sorry but I wasn't expecting that outcome.” I said while pouring some orange juice in two mugs. “It’s fine.. I have been too tough in my life before, until I realised I had wasted some of my golden moments being a serious and grumpy guy. Like they have said, ‘boiling water is a harsh condition in which the eggs get hard and the potatoes get soft.’, it works differently for everyone. I was a potato, I guess…” he stated while passing me the bowl filled with tasty noodles. “You are a handsome potato, Alarous. I doubt you don’t have a girlfriend yet.” I chuckled while munching on the food. “That's old talk but I do have a crush on that girl. She was young and I usually got her sight in the local market of the thesaurus. She knew I was head over heels on her, but I was restricted due to my duties and never thought of proposing her.” he said while swigging on his noodles. “Then, did she propose to you? Or she got married to someone else?” I was curious to find out. “No!! She got slaughtered by Zeus’s army.” he snapped with a depressed voice. I felt his pain, that he was feeling right now. Sudden;ly i realised how he must have felt watching his love dying. “I am sorry.. I had no idea.” I was trying to console him but guess I failed. “It’s okay, I am over it. But those circumstances made me a stone heart person. That’s why I devoted my life to serving my king. Later, I was appointed by the queen with the most difficult task I actually did in my whole life.” he said. “What task?” I asked abruptly. “Escaping to this timezone to save your life.” He looked serious in my eyes and I felt intimidated by him. I didn’t ask anything further but he started to tell me everything, anyway. “You father, Omar Thesaurus was a great king, he fought and died for his progeny. He didn't even get a chance to see your face, Cassian. He died protecting your mother.” he said. “How did he die?” I put some courage in asking this. “Well, it started when Ares, the god of fire, had a fling with a royal escort. She delivered a baby and named him Lycaon. Since he was very young, he was notorious and powerful. Zeus noted his power and tried to subdue him, but failed. Aware and terrified of his potential, he framed Lycaon in an enchanted chain, however, Lycaon was smart among his siblings. He knew why Zeus was afraid of him and made a deal. He asked to become king of Arcadia in exchange for peace with Olympians. Zeus, unwillingly, made him the king, but he had other plans to bring him down. Zeus killed his sons so there will be no evolution of Lycaon’s community. Lycaon went on a rampage and killed other gods and goddesses in his killing spree. He found out eventually that Zeus did this to him, so he tricked Zeus into eating human flesh.” “Afraid of Zeus’s anger, Lycaon ran away and hid in the shadows. No one knows where he is hiding currently. Then came Omar, next in the line of throne, but he denied taking over Arcadia and enraged Zeus. Zeus, in anger, cused Omar and his kingdom to be turned into wolves. Least did he knew that he eventually blessed them with something which he never imagined in his whole life. The abilities of a predator in the human body, made Omar a prodigy. He took over a few kingdoms and united them as thesaurus. Jealousy and envy made Zeus more aggressive and he decided to get rids of the wolves. He send armies and associates to kill Omar but every time, Omar wins” “But Zeus was a god and Omar was a king, he eventually became more powerful. Zeus asked Omar to join hands with him and forget everything that happened but Omar denied, he did not want to become us as pets to Olympians and declared a war against them. Things worsen when the queen, Alaine, finds out she is pregnant. She was the main target for Zeus. he knew if he kills the queen, there will be no chance for Omar and his victory will be written in bold letters. He played dirty in the war and killed Omar.” Alarous narrated with tears in his eyes, he wiped them quickly and continued. “But the queen was strong, the pain of losing her husbands was too much to bear, she went into labour and delivered you. Though she already assumed the outcome of the war, she hid it from the army about the king’s demise. She appointed me to take you away from the battlefield to keep you safe. Took the crown on her head and pretended to be the king in the battlesuit, she went to the war, leading the army with her. And on the other hand, I took you here. I never got a chance to know what happened to her and the war…”  He was silent after he narrated the whole case. I was confused as everything appeared to be fake but it wasn’t. It was hard for me to believe this story and even harder not to accept it. I have never faced such a dilemma before. “I know that you think that this is a lie but trust me Cassian, I am not lying to you.. Wait, I can show it to you.” he approached me and put both his palms on my temples, pressing them a bit harder. I thought I was getting a concussion but some random images formed in my mind.  The pixelated images got sharpened and I realised that it was the story Alarous just told me. Bits by bits, the images told their purpose and saw the fragments of his life, everything he lived in that time. When I started screaming due to the pressure, he let go of my mind. “Sorry.. I know it hurts but it was necessary..” he apologized. I held my head in my hands and curled up in the corner. “This is not true.. This is not true… I can't be….’ “You are a demigod. Cassian. Even if you deny it now, it will come back to you, the truth, keep slapping you in the face until you accept it.. Do you really think that you are a normal human with some elemental powers? No!!” he said to me.. “Why me?? Why can't I be normal?” I asked with terror surfacing in my voice. “Because you are born to be a god.. To follow the legacy of your parents…” Alarous said with a power in his voice. “Okay, I agree with you, but what am I supposed to do? The war is over, and there is nothing we can do..” I stood up on my decision. “You are wrong, we can still change the past..” he pointed out. “How?” I frowned. “The war isn’t over yet, Cassian, consider that it has begun..” he said with bold initiative…
