The next morning was sunny and crisp. And so was the attitude of the Skipton sisters.
Yesterday had been the medicine both girls needed. Rebecca facing Keith head-on had not only been therapeutic, but had also shown them Skipton had their back. Now they were ready to wait and see what he was up to, the ball was in his court so to speak.
For Rebecca, it had been like facing down a demon from her past, and finding out she could not only stand up to him but walk out a winner. For Paige, on the other hand, it felt more like the cards were on the table and she could see who the players were. She had known the mayor opposed their plans for Skipton Station, but now she knew he would partner with outsiders to do whatever he could to stop their progress.
