Otherwise she didn’t know how anyone could live in a room with a door on one end and a tiny sink built into the wall opposite. It was completely dominated by the table built into the floor. A portable cooker was set up on the end of the table closest to the sink, a large wok-like pan set on the dark red ring, little jets of steam escaping from under the lid. A round, white pot with a locked-down lid was sitting next to it. Plates and forks were stacked in the middle of the table, four of each.
