Chapter Eight

Clary's POV I laid in my bed crying, until I ran out of tears. I got up, ignoring my headache, and sat in my window seat. The rain had stopped, so I cracked open my window and lit up a cigarette, hoping that it could calm me down at least a little bit. I smoked another one immediatley after the first and that one calmed me. Thank god. I sat down in my hanging chair and turned on my tv, watching the recorded episode of Stitchers. Love that show. "Clare?" A knock sounded on my door. "What?" I questioned and Aaron walked in, staying by the door. "We're ordering pizza, what kind do you want?" "Aaron, you've known me a long time, so you know that I want sausage. So, why'd you really come up here?" I paused my show. "I heard about the 'S' word." I shook my head. "And, I don't want to talk aout it." He nodded. "I just wanted to know if you were okay." I scoffed. "Stupid question, I know." He sighed. "Can I do anything to help you?" "Nope." I sat back down on my window seat and lit up another cigarette. "Let me know if that changes, okay?" "Okay." "Oh, and I do believe that you forgot to greet me with a kiss when you got home." He smirked and I laughed, flipping him the bird. "f**k you, Aaron." He laughed. "I've been waiting for that. I'll yell for you when the pizza gets here." "Thanks." He nodded and left my room. Forty minutes later, the doorbell rang, then again and again, because apparently no one was listening for it. I sighed and slipped on my jacket before heading downstairs. The guys were all screaming at the tv as they played Call Of Duty. I opened the front door and the same boy from before stood there. "Nice to see you again, Clary." "Yeah, you too. Which one of you is paying?!" I yelled over the commotion. Gray held up the money and hurried over to us, giving me the money before he took the pizzas from Jax. "Okay, then." Jax laughed. "Sorry, they're all assholes." I handed him the money. "They're your friends?" He peeked in, seeing almost almost all guys. "Sort of shared friends between my brother and I." "Ah. Well, I guess I will see you next time you order pizza." "I guess so." "Will you at least consider my offer to take you out on a date?" I sighed. "Come on, dating isn't that bad." "I'll think about it." He smiled brightly and nodded. "Call me when you make your decision." He wrote his number on my arm and I laughed. "Mm-hm." He made it back to his car and drove off. I closed the door and went to the kitchen, getting a drink before sitting down on the couch beside Aaron. "Who the f**k wrote their number on your arm?" Gavin laughed and I held out my arm for everyone to see. "Pizza guy." I stated and bit into my pizza. "Again?" Jon asked incredelously, making all of the boys look to me. "He's done it twice?" Tyler questioned. "Yep." "Did he ask you out?" Izzy chimed in. "Twice." "What'd you say?" "First time, I told him that I don't date, but he gave me his number anyway, this time, he asked me to at least consider going on a date with him, so I told him I'd think about it." "Damn. That boy is desperate." Reese laughed. "Well, who wouldn't be? Look at her, she's beautiful. Guys will be kneeling at her feet in no time." I continued to eat my food as they talked. "Hell, if I were allowed, I'd be kneeling for her already." I choked on my food at Aaron's comment. "f**k off, Aaron." I laughed, taking a sip of my drink. Jon slapped him upside the head and he hunched forward before rubing the sore spot and glaring at Jon. "Uncalled for!" Jon raised his eyebrows. "Okay, fine, maybe I deserved that." Aaron bit into his pizza. "Is this how it always is? Hanging around a bunch of boys?" Izzy asked and I nodded. "Usually we go without talking about how beautiful I am, but yes. It's chaos." Hours later, I was sat in my bedroom sketching with my headphones on and listening to music. "Hey!" I jumped and looked over at Aaron. I took off my headphones and let them sit around my neck. "What do you want?" I asked and he closed the door before sitting down at the end of my bed. "I wanted to talk to you about a thought that I had." I nodded, urging him to keep going. "When we were talking about how beautiful you are and how any guy would love to go out with you, I started thinking about the other night, Jon told me what you said when you told your dad you didn't want to date." "Yeah, and?" "I want to take you on a practice date." I laughed lightly. "No, I'm serious. I want to take you out and show you the wonderful world of dating. It can suck sometimes, I won't lie to you, but the pros outweigh the cons by a long shot." "A practice date?" "Yeah. Take you on a date and show you what it's really like. Come on, what's the worst that can happen? You actually like it?" I sighed. "If you don't enjoy it, we'll leave the dating subject alone for good. What do you say?" "I guess, it couldn't hurt anything." He smiled. "Do I have to wear dressy clothes?" "Yep." I pouted. "It's a date, you dress up and I dress up. That's how it works." I sighed heavily. "Fine. When will this supposed date take place?" He stood from my bed. "This Saturday. I'll pick you up at seven." "Okay." He nodded and left my room. I picked up my phone and pressed my number one on speed dial. "Yes, princess?" "I'm going on a date. Sort of." He chuckled. "Sort of? What does that mean? And, with who?" "Sort of means that it's a practice date with Aaron. He wants to show me what it's really like to go on a date, so we're going out this Saturday." "Okay then. I'll give you my credit card and you can go get an outfit because I know that you definitely do not have any date outfits." "Daddy, I don't want your credit card, I can borrow something from Izzy." "You will do no such thing. You will take my credit card when I get home and you will be damn happy about it." I laughed. "Thank you, daddy. I appreciate it." "I know you do. You appreciate everything." "Do I? Hm, hadn't realized that." "Oh, shut up." "Whatever you say." "I have to go, princess, but I will see you when I get home. Whenever that'll be." "You probably won't see me. I'm about to go to bed and I have to head to school early in the morning. But, I am all yours tomorrow night." "Okay, baby. Goodnight, I love you." "Love you, too." The call ended and I set my phone on my table before getting up and heading to my dresser, pulling out a shirt that I stole from dad. I stripped from my clothes and put on the shirt, leaving me in panties and an oversized t-shirt. I turned off the lights and turned on my tv, knowing that I can't sleep without some sort of sound. Hopefully this practice date won't be so bad......
