HIS HEART SKIPPED A BEAT

" Follow me " Liam said still carrying Aria in his arms, she was so little in his arms, like he was carrying a baby as he was in his giant form. He walked pass his mother who was fuming in anger.

Elia quickly followed Liam, as Aria has told her about him, she knew she could trust Liam.

Magnus who was also walking in the in garden heard the conversation going on between the mother and son duo , he stood at a corner where they won't be able to see him.

And just then he saw Liam carrying Aria who looked like she was sleeping in his arms ' what happened to her' he asked in his head, Magnus didn't notice the other human who was standing a little bit far from the mother and son.

It was when Liam told the little human who was Elia to follow him, that's when Magnus noticed Elia, when his grey eyes settled on Elia, his heart skipped a beat.

He held his chest ' what just happened, what was that?' he asked in his head. He found himself staring at Elia till they got inside the castle and he couldn't see her anymore.

' Wait? Why was he staring at Elia? He asked himself. Why did his heart skipped a beat? Could it be that Elia was his mate ? No no he shook his head and left the garden.

When Liam got into the castle with Elia trailing behind him, he knew she would be staying in the guest room and Aria will like to stay with her friend as his brother Derek wasn't around for now.

"Which of the rooms do you stay" Liam asked Elia

"The one on the right" Elia replied and Liam walked towards the room at the right using his leg to kick it open and entered inside with Elia following behind.

When Liam got to the bed , he gently lay Aria on the bed using the quilt to cover her to keep her warm.

When he made sure Aria was comfortable on the bed, he turned to face Elia as he reduced to his human form so she wouldn't strain her neck to look up.

"What were you both doing at the garden when you both know you shouldn't have left this room". He asked raising his voice a bit and crossed his arms, which made Elia shudder.

"We...we... I..... It was my fault, I forced Aria to take me to see outside" Elia said.

" Since when have you been in this castle, cause I can't remember seeing you together with Aria the first time I met her in the garden" Liam asked.

" I was in a coma for three days" Elia answered " you met Aria in the garden??" She asked.

" Yes, she actually came to get my pet rabbit" Liam answered and both Elia and Liam didn't know they were already having a conversation without them knowing.

"Oh yes she told me about that" Elia and Liam both stared at Aria who was sleeping peacefully on the bed.

"Don't go about roaming in the castle or else you'll be killed , Just like my mother the queen almost killed you both if not for my intervention" Liam said in a warning tone and Elia nodded her head.

" if you need anything you can ask the maid to get it for you understand?" .

" Understood" Elia answered immediately.

" Take care of yourself and Aria" Liam said and left the room alone for Elia and Aria.

And just as Elia sat beside Aria on the bed ,the door opened again and Liam peek his head inside the room and asked "what's your name again".

"It's Elia sorry Amelia" Elia corrected and Liam nodded his head and closed the door.

I woke up feeling pains all over my head, I looked around me ' where was I ' I said in my head.

"Aria you're awake" I heard Elia's voice as she sat with me on the bed. "Are you ok? Anywhere hurting?" She asked.

"Yes my head hurts, where are we? " I asked.

" My room , are you sure you are okay? "Elia asked as she rest her palm on my forehead.

" My head hurts Elia, the queen must have slapped me harder than I thought" I said.

" here drink this " Elia gave me a glass of water.

"Thank you" I said as I took the glass from her hand and gulped the water down, when I was done she collected the glass from me and kept it on the table beside the bed.

"Who brought me here" I asked.

"Prince Liam" Elia answered.

" What about the queen"

" I don't know , I followed Prince Liam away from the garden. Why does she hate us? " Elia asked.

"I'm sorry Elia it's my fault for being Derek's mate and now you're suffering together with me" I said.

" No it's not your fault, don't say that. It was my fault , I forced you to show me outside. But can't you just tell him that you don't want to do the mate thing" Elia said.

" I wish I can , you see according to what Derek told me he said that I'm his mate and we're bounded forever" I explained.

" Like you're his wife or something"

"Yes something like that".

" but you both ain't married, wont you like to have a rememberable wedding day".

" I do Elia but.. " I said not knowing how to tell Elia what has been on my mind .

" But what??"

"But......" I said biting my lips nervously.

"You know you can always tell me anything" Elia persuaded me to talk.

" Ok ok , the thing is that I think... I think I'm falling for him already".I finally said it

Elia gasped covering her mouth with her palm " you love him?" She asked.

"Yes I think so" I said

"Does he knows?"

"No I haven't told him anything yet and I don't think he knows" I answered.

" So when he gets back, what are you planning to do? Will you tell him? ".

" What ? no no I can't tell him now maybe later ".

"Ok but Aria" she called me.

"Yes" I answered

" Will I also have a mate like you"

" I don't know , do you want a mate ? " I asked.

"Uhumm I'm just asking, do you know what the time is " Elia said changing the topic.

"No I don't know but it should be two o'clock in the afternoon" I said.

" two ? Why is it so cold here?"

" What is this place called ? "Elia asked me.

" Naal city that's what Venetia told me the first day ahh" I screamed holding my head.

" What ? are you okay?" Elia rushed to my side holding my shoulders.

"No my head still hurts, I told you going outside wasn't a good idea".

" I'm so sorry, I should have listened to you. Maybe you need to rest, you'll feel better" Elia said.

"Ok" I said as I laid down on the bed " I just hope Derek comes back quickly before the queen kill us".

"Don't worry he'll be back, rest now".

I didn't know when I slept off but by the time I woke up again, it was a bit dark. I sat up on the bed, the pains I was feeling in my head was gone. I then noticed Elia wasn't in the room.

"Elia" I called out to her but no reply.

"Elia" I called again still no reply, where was she, I just hope nothing bad happened to her, or she hasn't gone out again.

I got out of the bed and walked to the door and opening it, I peeped out, I couldn't see anyone. I closed the door back and rang the bell in the room.

Maybe I should ask Venetia if she has seen Elia, I waited a bit and then the door opened and Venetia stepped in.

" Milady you called me" she said.

" Yes, did you by any chance see Elia anywhere in the castle".

"No milady" she answered and before I could ask another question I felt myself falling down , I closed my eyes and when I opened them back , I saw myself at the place Liam took me when he was showing me around the castle.

But what I'm I doing here, I was just talking to Venetia just now wasn't it?.

" Finally you're here" I heard a voice behind me and when I turned to see who was that, I was surprised to see Prince Augus who stood ten steps away from me.

"Why did you bring me here" I asked keeping distance from him.

" Me?" He pointed at his chest " I didn't bring you here, you came here on your own" he said.

" I didn't, I was talking to Venetia just now and I felt myself fall and landed here" I said.

" Then why did you accuse me of something I didn't do" Angus said feigning a hurtful expression on his face.

There was something about Angus but I can't put my finger on it.

" You see, you're not who you think you're" Angus said.

" What do you mean?" I asked not getting the point.

"What do you think I mean?" He answered me with a question.

" I don't know you tell me" I said and he chuckled.

" You're not human my dear" he finally said and I frowned , what did he mean by that.

" What do you mean I'm not human" I said not liking what he said " I'm human hundred percent".

" Hmmm are you sure? "He asked me.

" yes I'm sure take me back please" I pleaded.

"Let's find out then" he said and I didn't know what he meant by let's find out, but all I know was that he now stood before me and I was one step away from the river.

I didn't know how I got so close to the river but before I knew what was happening , he had already pushed me into the river.

"Nooooo" I screamed as I woke up from the dream holding my chest .

"Are you alright" I heard Elia's voice.

" yes I'm fine , I just had a bad dream" I said .

" Bad dream? "

" Yes bad , bad dream"I answered. I have to stay away from Angus, he might be the quiet one yet he might be dangerous too.

" Tell me about it" she said and I told Elia who about the dream I had.

"Omg that's horrible, but is the river of lost souls real" Elia asked.

" Yes, prince Liam showed it to me when we went for our little tour round the castle, he said the river could do two things" I said.

" what two things can it do?" Elia asked.

" He said the river could bring back people with good souls and can also suck out people souls that are bad" I said.

" Wow that's scary" .

" Yes really scary" and then my stomach growled, I am hungry, it was dark and time for dinner. I can't go to dinning room to eat else I don't need my life anymore.

"Let me go ring the bell , you must be hungry" Elia said and went to where the bell was connected to the wall to call maids if needed.

" well ain't you hungry too" I said.

"I am of course" Elia replied and just as she was about ringing the bell, the door opened and both our eyes moved to the door.

It was Magnus, he stood at the door, he didn't even knock how rude . But what was he doing here anyway? I asked in my head while Elia just stared at him.
