Chapter 6

Just as I thought training was awkward at the beginning but it mellowed out after I struck him in the abdomen. "Oh-" Airell let out a groan as he fell to one knee. "Good strike..." He said standing back up  "Yeah that was for not knocking...Idiot." I said playfully.  Airell raised his hands in defeat. "Alright, alright you made your point. I'll knock at every door before I enter." I smacked his fighting stick to the ground and held mine to his throat.  I raised my brow at him. "Promise?" Airell pulled the fighting stick towards him, lunging me forward into his arms. I gasped as my hands landed on his chest. He looked down at me with his soft blue eyes. My eyes couldn't help to be drawn to his lips and my face flushed. Airell leaned in so his forehead was on mine. I felt paralyzed as he gazed into my eyes. " I promise." He said in a soft breathless tone. I could feel my heart pounding. I was never good at telling if guys liked me or not because I never attracted many guys. I was not a drop dead gorgeous girl, I had my flaws in a world of perfection. I was just good at hiding it... I looked away from Airells gazing eyes.  "Is something wrong?" Airell asked as I stepped away from him and grabbed my fighting stick.  "No, I just thought we would start over, seeing how I won just now." I said playfully trying to stir his attention else where. He shook his head as he smiled. His long blonde hair was tied up in a ponytail showing his sharp cheek bones and pointed ears.  "I let you win that one." He said with a sly smile. I smiled back then struck him. Why his father insisted I had this type of training, I will never know. I never had to learn to fight but I guys if Demons were learning how to cross the Veil I might as well learn now. When the training session was over I sneaked away from Airell when he wasn't looking. I missed my little water baby and I wanted to see how he was doing. Also I needed to explain all of this to my parents...they were probably worried sick about me. I ran to the lagoon and splashed my hands in the water. I took a second but Scully came bursting out of the water and greeted me with his happy little squeals. "Oh I've missed you so much!" Scully leaped into my arms. "Oh geez you got heavy." I could barley hold him up now. I would have to find a bigger lagoon for him soon.  "I'll be back little one I have to go find another lagoon for you." I kissed Scully on the head and leaped back into the water. The only large lagoon was by the Veil... I wanted to see him again too. That Demon who possibly saved my life but now I had no way of getting that dagger back. Maybe I should apologize to him...Ugh I did not know what I was thinking. Apologizing to a Demon was ridiculous but I still walked towards the Veil. "I'm just here for a bigger lagoon..." I uttered under my breath as I kept glancing at the Veil. The Demon guy looked so different from the Demon that got through the Veil. What was the difference between them. I had so many questions and against my better judgement I started to walked towards the Veil. Now I could see the hole, it was still there. My heart quickened as I looked around to see if anyone was watching and ran up to it but as I looked through it I was sorely disappointed. He was not there, I sighed. Why was I so eager to see him?  "I'm guessing you lost the dagger." I screamed and fell backwards at the Demons voice. I jumped up to look through and he was there. His piercing blue eyes were looking straight at me. I felt a fluttering in my belly. The Demon raised an thin black eyebrow. "Well?" I cleared my throat. "I-uh...Yes It got taken away from me." I stammered, face palming my head in my mind. "Hey-uh did you strike that Demon who was coming after me?" I asked. The Demon half-smiled at me. "That Fae woman who came in here. Who was she?" He asked instead of answering my question. I narrowed my eyes at him. Did he know what happened to Odessa? I smiled slyly. "Tell me your name and I'll tell you." The Demon eyes widened and he laughed. "Clever girl." He racked a hand through his long pitch black hair. "My name is Micha." "Micha..." I uttered under my breath. Saying his name made my lips tingle. He smiled as I said his name. This feeling was different than what I felt with Airell. Micha made me feel alive...maybe because I was snooping where I knew I shouldn't be and it was exciting but he was so different, so unique looking. "Emery, my eyes are up here." Micha said playfully. I gasped realizing I had been staring at his lips this whole time. Now my stomach was in knots. I back away as my face flushed. What was I doing...I really did not know anymore. "Your Fae Elder, Odessa. She is dead." Micha said as I looked into his eyes I knew he wasn't lying. A burning sensation filled my eyes. "Who? Who killed her?" "Mmm...that I can't say." He said as he turned away. "What? But you were there, you killed that Demon that got loose." Micha turned back to me. I was so confused, if he saved me then why didn't he try to save her? My chest tightened. This was wrong I should not be here. "I-I'm sorry. This was a mistake." I said fighting down the lump in my throat. I turned and ran away without saying anything else to him. I ran to my parents house...I could not tell them about Micha but I could tell them about what happened with me and why I gone so long. I should of never gone near the Veil...
