Episode 6-Fiesty

/Allen’s POV/ Even if someone was to change overnight I’m sure there should at least be some similarities but Eleanor behaved like a totally different person or was it because she wanted to divorce me that made me think that way? I don’t think that’s just it. The way she walks acts, and talks totally changes. Could it be she has a split personality or something? I think if she does I’d be the first person to notice since she’s always clinging to me. I was frustrated but I cast all my worries aside as I walked into the reception with her hand in hand, I could feel lustful gazes on her as we walked in but unlike before when she used to dawdle in men’s attention, she was straight up indifferent, she looked so uninterested that I thought she would turn and leave. Then she looked around and sigh so I had to suggest what to do since she looked so clueless and all. Suggesting to go to the Minister and her dad had lots of advantages since I get to expand my connections and also, to get back on Emmett's good side since he doesn’t like me very much, I just didn’t expect my new wife who would normally throw around flirty comments while showing off her beauty to be all sassy after the Mayor asked when I fell in love with her. Even if I’m not being genuine, the Eleanor I knew would kill to have me tell her I love her but she fought against me saying that word. It was quite confusing and not just to me but to her dad and brother who were next beside us. The minister, on the other hand, looked impressed by how outspoken she was, I only figured that out after I returned from scolding her, I got all anxious again when she refused to reappear and when she did, she was seething... She looked like she could punch someone in the face. She walked straight for the drink table and grab a champagne flute which she downed immediately; then I saw Kimberly walking up to her probably trying to caution the way she drinks since she’s a terrible drunk. The reception ended well and I ended up leaving with Eleanor in a limousine heading straight for our honeymoon. The rest of the wedding will be handled by my mom, and also by Eleanor’s family. “Finally” Eleanor exclaimed as she slumped into the seat throw her head back and close her eyes. “We are officially a married couple now, you’ve got what you’ve always wanted so, how do you feel about it?” I raised a brow and she sighed before she turned to me with a boring look. “I realise it wasn’t as exciting as I thought it would be, I wish I could quit” My eyes widened in shock, I’m shocked because she was being serious. “Why do we have to do this honeymoon anyway, it’s not like anything’s gonna happen between us” I want to believe that she was saying that to give and make me do exactly as she wants. “We could go back if you want” I decided to play her game for a while but I didn’t expect her to be so enthusiastic about it. “Really we could?” Her eyes beamed with excitement taking me by utmost surprise. “Um, yeah…we could turn the car back…if you want. It’s not like I want to do this either” My pride won’t let me admit how wrong the idea was, my ego took a huge hit when she agreed quickly, at this point I can tell if she was really acting that she doesn’t want anything to do with me. And like we decided we returned home, I mean my home, and thankfully the party had ended but when we walked in and mom noticed she immediately walked up to us. “What are you two doing here, you should be on the way to your honeymoon” My mom pointed out with furrowed brows. She looked rather upset. “Mom- “He agreed to just stay back home and enjoy the honeymoon. Why go that far when we can get everything we need here, I think it’s a waste of money- “What a joke, you planned the honeymoon yourself” Jenny walked up to us with her hands folded and her lashes batting in annoyance. “Yeah I did and I also give it up and also Allen agreed to it, mom…I’m really exhausted from the wedding” Eleanor whined snuggling to my mom with her hands in hers. Her action was completely strange that it left us rather speechless. “Well,” My mom cleared her throat. “I just had your room rearranged, you can stay” My mom gave in while trying not to smile. “Really mom? Thank you so much” She hugged her and immediately head towards the stairs. “What’s up with her, is she drunk?” Jenny turned to me and I shrugged my shoulders because even I can’t say. “She’d been acting weird since she woke up today but I don’t know why- “weirdly, she’s not clinging on you like she used to, I know it’s good because that used to be an eyesore but…are you sure she isn’t sick or something?” Jenny asked as we all watched the fading figure of Eleanor as she walked up. “It’s even weirder that you’re suddenly worried for her” I pointed looking back at her. “Me? Worried for her? Hell no!”And like that my sister turned and head towards the second spiral stairs in the mansion, which led to her room. I heaved a heavy sigh running my hands through my hair disheveling it a little. “Are you okay? You look exhausted” My mom rushed to get me a cup of water which I took gladly. “The wedding was quite stressful” I confessed and she smiled. “I’m sure you’ll be fine” My mom assured patting my shoulder before I handed the empty cup back to her. When I returned to my room, Eleanor was in a red silky nightgown leaving the fresh edges of her bosom in few, she had a tabloid in her hand and next to the cuddler chair she was seated was a stool where a half-drunk glass of wine rested. Her hair seems wet, it’s as if she just exited the bathroom, I noticed how long her lashes were when she slowly raised her head to meet my eyes. “What are you doing here? Isn’t this supposed to be my room” She shot up a brow glaring at me with displeasure, the way her face contoured into a haughty frown doesn’t soothe her demeanor at all. “We are married and this is our room, you have a problem with that?” I asked her tilting my head and she sighed slowly placing down the glass of wine she had reached for a minute ago to take a sip. “I thought you didn’t want to be in the same room with me, being in the same space was always an inconvenience to your existence, so why do you have to stay in the same room with me?” She questioned with a face void of any emotions. She used to talk to me with a jolly expression even when I said harsh things to her, has she really stopped being clingy? Has she decided to let me go, but why after the marriage though? This is so f*****g confusing. “Well, because I can stay anywhere I want to, after all this is my room,” I thought she would at least smile but she only sighed and return to the chair while ignoring me, if she’s doing this to catch my attention, it’s getting really annoying. Ignoring her is also the best thing I can do right now. I walked past her and headed to the bathroom to have a warm bath after which I returned to head to the closet with just a towel, it was then I felt Eleanor’s eyes on me raking me and studying intensely , doesn’t she have any sense of shame? I thought but she just stood from the cuddler and went straight to bed. “Good night” She yawned flipping the covers before disappearing into them. I walked into the closet which was right next to the bathroom to put on my nightwear, I was shocked to return and see that the whole bed had been occupied, why on earth is Eleanor sprawled in such a weird position. “Are you sleeping or pretending to be asleep, this is a emperor size bed, what do you think you’re doing spreading all your body in the middle” I let out an angry puff in irritation but after there was no response from her, I eventually pushed her to the side so I could sleep but it felt weird having someone next to me while I sleep, ever since Hanna I settle for casual relationships so I hardly ever share a bed with any of my casual flings till morning, it felt weird. I opened my eyes in the morning feeling hot for some reason, I slowly forced my eyes open and was shocked to see Eleanor hugging me tightly, f**k! I was stupid to think she’d changed. I pushed her off immediately and she ended up rolling off the bed and falling with a loud thud. “Ow,” She stood wearing a fierce look on her face. “This is exactly why I don’t wanna be in the same bed with you- “Why the f**k would you throw me off the bed!” She yelled at me and I flinched. It’s the first time I’ve seen her look so feisty. “You were hugging and spooning me- “If you think you’re such a big deal why don’t you get your ass out of the goddamn room, I’m sure there’s a lot of room in this mansion!” She lashed out at me while I just blinked in surprise too stunned to speak. By the time she was done, she was letting out angry pants. Then she grabbed the pillow and the blankets as well leaving me bare, then she turned to leave. “Where do you think you’re going?” I asked staring at her in dismay. “What do you think I’m doing? Leaving your goddamn room for you and finding anywhere else to stay" She snapped back at me adding to my shock. Then she cussed out at me before she slammed the door behind her. “What the f**k just happened?” I had patted my cheek to be sure I was awake because it could be that I was dreaming but f**k it was real, what just happened was a freaking reality, Eleanor yelled at me. I was still lost in my thoughts when my phone blared up, I immediately reached for it at the bedside table, it was my assistant. “Hello, Mr. Maxwell- “I recall telling you to handle everything that happens behind me until I get back Cassandra, what’s your purpose for this call?” I was already pissed, I woke up to a violent and now my assistant is calling me. “Well, I wanted to let you know that the canceled projects have been assigned back to us and we were even able to secure a few other projects and one was worth 2 billion dollars” My eyes widened in surprise. That’s definitely Mr. Walker's doing, I guess he kept his end of the bargain. “I’m glad you told me, that means we are gonna be swarmed with work…I’ll make sure to come back to work as early as I can” I promised standing up from the bed to look for Eleanor because apart from marrying her one of the promises I made to her father was to make her happy, oh this sucks. I walked out of our room to look for her and then eventually found her sleeping in the lounge. “That son of a b***h!” She mumbled in her sleep. --------
