/Allen’s POV/
She was definitely getting back at me for all the times I ignored her, being smart doesn't seem to fit her very much.
"It appears I have been lenient with you lately to think you'll have everything your way, honeymoon? What makes you think I want to have a honeymoon with you?" I replied harshly after Eleanor declared she wanted to have a honeymoon all of a sudden, and worse...she was suggesting we go to Kansas.
"You don't have to come" She shrugged indifferently one hand folded while she wore a nonchalant look.
"What?" My brows furrowed tight.
"I said you don't have to come, it just has to be called a honeymoon...I can go alone, it'll be more like a vacation so you can stay behind and wallow in your loneliness, I don't care. I'll be out of your hair in no time, all I need is your private jet to get there, nothing more" She folded her hands while waiting for me to respond. Seeing her like that was quite frustrating, I understand she suddenly changed but isn't this too much? Breaking my nose early in the morning, wanting to have a honeymoon...alone? Her request made absolutely no sense.
"No" I blurted. She's not having her way, not this time.
"Okay fine, I'll call my dad and tell him you canceled our honeymoon then" She turned and tried to leave. While I grit my teeth not wanting to give in.
"Wait-" I halted her before she stormed out.
"Okay fine, but...you'd have to go alone," I told her and she nodded gladly. Is she really serious about going alone? I thought but gave in regardless.
"I'll make preparations," I told her and she smiled moving towards the bags returned to the room the previous night. It was still unpacked. She looked really excited...and seeing as she's desperate to go without me...it made me mad, at least there would be no one to walk on my nerves while she's away.
I reached for my phone and called my assistant to prepare the flight for Eleanor who sat cross-legged on the sofa chair with a creepy smile on her face. I can't help but feel she's a totally different person now.
"Tomorrow will be fine" I replied to my assistant who asked when she would be leaving.
"No, I wanna leave today, by 10" Eleanor interrupted firmly.
"It'll take some time to-
"10" She reiterated and I sighed. I really can't wait for her to get the f**k away.
"Make sure it's available by 10 am," I told Cassie who paused for a moment.
"But Mr. Maxwell, that's kinda too early" She fretted at the other end of the phone.
"Have it done" I insisted then ended the call?
"Happy now, I'll have your room ready by the time you come back. Make sure to make yourself unavailable in my sight" I spat spitefully but she just sat there grinning and smiling creepily. I felt kinda awkward about that but I ignored her and moved to the bathroom. My nose had stopped bleeding so I can have a proper bath now.
After that, I got into my joggers for my morning exercise. Eleanor sat there in her chair scrolling her phone without sparing me a glance. Which I'm kinda thankful for actually.
After spending 30mins on the treadmill in my little workout room located downstairs in the recreational hall. I returned to my room to have a shower. Then I saw Eleanor all ready to leave, what the heck? It's not even 10 yet.
"Are you leaving now?" I asked and she turned from scouting over her three traveling boxes, she seems to be sorting out her stuff. The moment my eyes moved over from the box to her, I realized just how attractive she was, I mean I've seen Eleanor in skimpy dresses, shorts, and skirts. Even in a bikini but this is the first time I truly think she's attractive because she was wearing baggy black tech pants, boot sneakers, tech jacket that match with the pant but she leave it undone to show off the white sports bra on top.
She was wearing simple Diamond pin earrings but she had a sagging chain on. It was an unusual style on her, it was like she transformed into a different person because even her hair which she like to flaunt by leaving it all free was pulled into a neat ponytail showing more of her face, and the way she applied her liner, unlike the girly make up like before...her liner made her eyes looked rather sharper since it was cat-like.
"What? Got something to say?" she asked me as she pushed aside just one of the three boxes in front of her after she noticed my prying eyes on her.
"It's just, you don't normally dress like...this" I run her through with eyes again and she sighed.
"Are you being silly or you're just dumb to notice I've changed. I wanna be better...I used to live a boring life and now, I'm gonna be living for me" She sound sure, genuine, and confident that which made me wonder what exactly is the sudden cause of her change.
"Also, I don't love you anymore. It's might be hard to believe because I spent half of my life obsessing over you but a day before the wedding, it occurred to me how much of a terrible decision that was so, I'm gonna live my life to the fullest now" She sounds like she was reading a scene from a crappy novel, she really wants me to believe she's changed? What a load of bullshit. I believed she just changing her tactics, but I'll show her...no matter what she does...she'll never get me and I already promised to make her life a living hell of what she did to Hanna.
I ignored her and walked over to the bed wanting to disregard her existence. She returned to the closet and appeared with bracelets and a black bucket hat to match her style. Then she settled on the chair opposite the bed then started scrolling through her phone, waiting for 10 o clock which was an hour.
Seeing her seated all calm and oblivious was an eyesore so I stood and ring up Xavier's phone, was suddenly feeling bored.
"Hey-
"Yo, what's up? How's your honeymoon going? Did Eleanor annoy you at every chance she gets?" He chuckled.
"She sure did, the only difference is that right now I'm at home" I informed and a brief silence settled.
"You're here...in New Orleans, right now... Like Louisiana?" I sighed feeling frustrated.
"Yeah, have I ever lied about something like this, I'm bored...I'm coming over where are you?" I demanded grabbing my car keys.
"Estelle's bar" He informed.
"But Mike's here too" He added but I was already leaving so it didn't matter anymore.
"The more the merrier" I commented. I didn't want to appear flashy on my way so I took a sports car with me and when I got there I met both of them playing pool.
"Yo, see who's here...it's the new groom in town, but surprisingly, you're having marriage trouble...already, because right now you're supposed to be on your honeymoon" He grinned.
"If that's supposed to be funny, you're terrible at jokes" I flashed him a forced smile that disappeared as soon as it came. Then I met Mike's eyes, things were a little bit awkward with us because of my sister's incident, though I don't really care much about it as long as he stops dating her. She's still quite young.
"Hey" He gulped and I stared at him for a while. I could tell how self-conscious he was under my gaze.
"Will you stop making things awkward?" I raised a brow at him and he smiled.
"Sorry man-
"I told you I don't care as long as you break up with her, because she's young," I told him and he gulped.
"Don't waste time about it too...if you really value our friendship" I know he's hesitant and hasn't broken up with her yet because I know when any of my sisters get dumped.
"So, what really happened with Eleanor?" Xavier asked with a warm smile while arranging the pool balls.
"It's weird...it's kinda hard to explain but I felt like she changed, I'm just not sure if it's for the worst or the best. She doesn't only act strangely, the way she talks and moves is somehow different from how I've always known her" I explained.
"Well, people are dynamic-
"She wanted to cancel the wedding" The air stilled immediately after I said that, It's a VIP room and we're the only ones in the place but it felt even if a needle should drop at the moment it'll be hard from the silence that followed after my declaration.
"She did what now?" Mike who had been silent and feeling uncomfortable around me blurted out in absolute shock.
"She wanted to cancel the wedding-
"Was she drunk?" Xavier asked with a confused look on his face.
"Even if she was drunk, Eleanor is someone that would yell Allen I love you in her drunken state, I've seen it" He mumbled on the last part of his statement.
"She wasn't drunk, she was quite sober and also, she didn't want to stay in the same room with me" I added and Mike smirked.
"She probably thinks if she pushes you away, you're gonna want to get closer-
"That's what I thought too until she throw me the bar soap this morning and as if that wasn't enough, she slapped me across the face though that was to wake me up after I fainted when I tripped-
"Are you making this up?" Xavier asked me straight.
"I wish I am and all I did was accidentally entered the bathroom while she was still in it-
"I thought she didn't want to stay in the same room?" Xavier's brows creased.
"Yeah, but I did stay because I didn't want to give her what she wants" I defended.
"And it didn't occur to you that you might be giving her what she wants, I think she's being tactical right now. If she pushes you a mile, just go 2miles instead of acting stubborn. Just dance to her tune" That does makes sense.
"It'll be nice if she's gotten over her obsession with you-
"Yeah, but it's confusing because she also said she wanted a divorce after a while-
"I think she wants to stay with you and make you fall for her and if she can't she plans on leaving, don't worry...she will soon be leaving your hair, once you're single again I'll introduce you to some cool girls Xavier grinned mischievously. That promiscuous bastard, anyone who sees him will think he's such a gentleman, not knowing he's a devil in disguise.
"You mean some actress" I muttered moving over to the black leather sofa at one side of the room.
"Not really-So, where is she now?" Xavier asked.
"She went on her honeymoon" So when they all stared weirdly at me. I had no choice but to narrate my ordeal to them, they insisted it was just one of her tactics and that I shouldn't fall for it and advised I leave some bodyguard with her so I can keep an eye on her. I did just that, I called my secretary to phone a reliable security company and have security keep her safe because it'll be on me if anything were to happen to her anyway.
Then I played and joked around with my friends and have some drinks too. I left 5hrs later. I was planning on enjoying myself until she comes back anyway but the second day, one of the guards I assigned to her informed me she was attacked, it was an assassination attempt, I didn't know how to feel about it, I just went numb.
