Just Want to go home

LILLY’S POV I allowed my curiosity and anger to lead me to question Max, I don’t know what I was expecting him to say but I was just so tired of living my life like this. He was claiming that he was protecting me and yet he wouldn’t tell me what he was protecting me from. At the same time, I was afraid of what he might say to me, what if the truth that I was demanding wasn’t as pretty as I wanted it to be? Would living my life in darkness without a clue of what was happening be better than knowing what Max was hiding? I had to know, I had to know the truth so that I could also protect myself. Max wasn’t always around me so how would I be able to protect myself if I didn’t know where the danger could be coming from? How would I know who to trust? “Please just tell me the truth?” I asked him again and he snapped out of whatever deep thought had been consuming his mind. I bet he was trying to make up a lie. “I don’t know what you are talking about Lilly’s. I don’t know what you want me to tell you” he said and I felt like screaming. “you know what the f**k I am talking about. Why are you keeping things from me? What are you keeping me safe from?” I asked him “Look, I have had deals go wrong in the past and I am just afraid that my business deals may affect you,” he said and I scoffed “ you mean the multiple clubs that you own but won’t take me to?” I asked him “Yes I mean my clubs, do you want me to take you to one?’ he asked me “Yes of course I want to see them especially if my life is in danger because of what you get up to there. Are you selling drugs?’ I asked him, I was tired of beating around the bush and I was hoping he would give me an honest answer but I knew the chances of him doing that were very slim. “I never said your life is-“ “Don’t bullshit me Max, are you selling drugs or not?” I asked him again and he sighed. His silence was all that I needed for an answer. I shook my head and walked out of the bedroom wondering what I had gotten myself into by accepting his advances at me. I should have known better, I should have followed my gut. His tattoos said everything I needed to know and I allowed myself to be mesmerized by them. I felt like such an i***t, what kind of person would have such a huge python on their back? That tattoo alone should have been the signal I needed. I suddenly remembered that there was a gang called the Pythons and they were known for having such tattoos on their bodies. This thought had crossed my mind when I first saw Max’s tattoos but after googling the gang, I found that they had their tattoos on their necks. This was the reason why I was inclined to believe that Max wasn’t a part of them. “would you like anything to drink?” a young woman dressed in a noticeably short skirt asked me and at that very moment Max walked out of the bedroom and sat next to me. I noticed the change in the girl's posture as she turned to face Max and the way she pushed up her chest. I looked back at Max but he didn’t seem to be paying any attention to her. “I want a beer,” I said annoyed but she didn’t respond to me but instead kept looking at Max. “Is that what she will be having?” she asked Max and I felt like slapping her. “why are you asking him now? Just a minute ago you wanted me to tell you what I wanted” I snapped but she paid me no mind. “She is asking him because she is obedient to me and knows the rules of this plane. I have to approve everything to be eaten” he said and I rolled my eyes. I want a beer and she better go and get me one or I will do it myself” I threatened “Didn’t you hear what she said?” MAX snapped at her his voice cold and demanding. I had never heard him speak like that, he had never spoken like that to me no matter how much I annoyed him. “I am sorry sir, I will get it right away,” she said as she hurried off and Max’s gaze softened as he turned to look at me. “I know you are mad at me right now but I need you to at least give me a chance to make this an unforgettable experience for you. This isn’t only about me keeping you safe but also about me and you” he said I wanted to roll my eyes and look away but he pulled me closer to him and forced me to look at him. “Lilly…” he whispered as he took me in his mouth and passionately kissed me. I wanted to fight him off and push him away from me but I was too weak. I wanted him too much. “I just love you so much….” He said, completely catching me off guard. Max had never told me that he loved me and I wasn’t sure of how to take it now that he had said it. It didn’t make me feel the way I always thought hearing it would make me feel. I felt like this was a desperate attempt to make me stay. I felt like he was trying to manipulate me. “I don’t want you to say that” I whispered back tears welling up in my eyes. I don’t even know why I suddenly wanted to cry. “But I do, I didn’t want to say it because…’ he paused “I just love you,” he said “no don’t-“ “Damn it Lilly do you have to make everything so f*****g difficult” he snapped as he got up and stormed off to the bedroom. I could hear the door lock from the other side. Did he think I was going to follow him in there after he threw a tantrum like a child? The hostess came back inside and handed me my beer. She looked annoyed with me, she was probably upset that I was here and so she wouldn’t get the chance to be the w***e that she was. I rolled my eyes just thinking about it. “Keep them coming” I ordered and she scoffed "Are you trying to get drunk on this expensive private jet?” she asked me “do you even know how much that velvet seat you are sitting on costs?” she asked me “do I look like I care? Do I look like I even want to be here?” I asked her equally annoyed with her,” “Just keep bringing my beers and stick to your job” I ordered her. “and bring me some champagne while you are at it,” I said “Are you going to clean up after yourself after you are done?” she asked me and I laughed at her joke “If I clean up you will be fired, there won’t be a need for you to be here. And here I thought he said you were obedient” “also…bring me a glass of red wine’ he frowned at me but didn’t say anything. She walked away and came back with the bottle of Champaign and a glass of red wine. I poured the red wine on the empty seat Next to me “Oops! I thought your boss was still here” I said and then started laughing. “You b***h” “I suggest you get to cleaning before he sees that,” I said and she stormed off. I continued drinking and drowning my sorrows away. The last thing on my mind was how expensive this velvet seat was. It only took a few drinks for me to be wasted and soon I couldn’t even keep my eyes open. I could hear Max shouting from a distance but couldn’t make out what he was saying or if he was speaking at me and then I just.
