We Need To Talk...

3266 Words
Tim's POV I'm wide awake in our dark room. Our room, the definition sounds surreal. It's dark and warm, maybe a bit stuffy. It smells strongly of us, mixed up and separate. The thought of my face buried between Ravens' soft thighs wasn't just a daydream anymore. It had turned into reality and exceeded all expectations. My tongue had happily parted her folds and lapped her juices until she came all over my face. We had washed off and finished the movie with Tobias. Harry was, to my great relief, nowhere in sight during the entire evening. My best guess is that he's with the new arrivals from the summer moon. Raven fell asleep in my lap. So when the movie was over, I said 'good night' to Tobias before carrying her to our room. Our room. She's in my arms, her head on my arm, her back against my chest, and her butt pressed against my groin. I've definitely been poking her the entire evening. I'm poking her right now. But she has slept peacefully through it. We're past midnight, and I've barely slept at all. She has been in my arms and my head. 'She makes the most delicious sound.' Thor purrs. 'She does!' I agree as I rub my nose against her hair. Her sounds echo in my mind, putting even more strain on my already hard d**k. 'Have you noticed it yet?' Thor asks me. Confused, I wait for him to elaborate. Noticed what? All I see is her, and she is perfection. 'You haven't heard "the sounds" or had nightmares about our time in captivity.' I snort at him, 'Of course not. I have barely slept!' 'Try. You'll see I'm right!' Thor yawns tiredly. His voice becomes a whisper in my head. Raven sighed contently, adjusting her cheek against my skin. With my eyelids heavy like lead - I unwillingly close them to get some rest. I won't sleep. I'll only rest a moment. The soft tingles from her skin against me are soothing, as is the sound of her steady breathing and beating heart. I slowly drift off, unable to resist when drowsiness grips me and pull me down into a deep sleep. * * * 'I'll be back in a couple of hours. You're sure you don't need me?' I ask Raven as she inspects the leather backpack given to her by our gamma female. 'No, I'm fine! You can go and do whatever. I'll be here when you get back!' She assures me, not even looking up at me. She has been a bit distant this morning. She'd left the bed when I woke up. I felt the warmth, but her body was gone. I'm pretty sure that's what woke me. 'Alright, um, I'll see you later!' She waves my way, not looking up. I contain my sigh of disappointment as I step out of the bedroom and close the door behind me. Harry's not here. Neither is Tobias. I don't know where he takes off to. But he's gone for hours at the time without apparent reason. I know he trains a lot. But no one train that much. 'He has demons to fight, like us. I suspect they're bigger than ours. He's off fighting them in his own way. Or, he might have found someone who is helping him. Like we have found Raven!' Thor tells me, surprising me with his perceptivity. I walk down the stairs and out the front door of the pack house, pondering. I've been seeing Mrs. Lee once a week since my mental breakdown, so I've seen her twice. She's good and all that. I'm just not sure what seeing her will give me. But I'm not about to tell my Alpha no. It's a crisp day. There is a feeling of snow in the air as I stride down the hill toward the hospital. 'Do you want to go for a run afterward?' Thor wags his tail, yapping. 'Is our little bird coming with us?' 'We could ask, but she'll be cold! Her body isn't fit to handle this whether!' I remind him. 'We'll keep her warm!' He snorts as if obvious. 'We can ask her.' I sigh as I walk down the hallway, spotting Mr. Lee's door. It's quiet as usual in here. It's like no one ever comes to this part of the hospital. Thor replayed last night in my head as I sat down to wait. 'You're mean!' I huffed at him as I felt my d**k press against the fabric of my pants. He shrugs and leans back in my head to relish our memories. 'Tim, hi!' A soft voice brings me back to reality. The woman before me feels familiar - both by appearance and scent. She has deep-blue eyes, her honey locks in a high ponytail, and she's dressed in a withe knitted jumper and a black skirt with buttons in the front. I have seen her before. Unconscious in the back of a trailer truck. And then in the packhouse when she's been visiting. I don't think I have ever spoken to her. 'Hi, err...' 'Sofia!' She tells me with a smile. 'Monica is all your's!' 'Thanks, Sofia!' 'You're welcome! Oh, were you and Raven in our home yesterday?' Her smile turns to a frown as my cheeks heat up. Raven transferred us to their living room. She couldn't hear them upstairs, but I could. 'Yeah, sorry about that! She acted on impulse, and we, well. Sorry!' Sofia laughs wholeheartedly. She seems genuinely amused by the whole thing as she speaks again. 'I'm happy you two made up and that you didn't appear in our bedroom! How is she, Raven? She was heartbroken the last time I saw her.' A pang of guilt grips my heart, placing it in a tight vise. I nod meekly, giving Sofia a half smile. As I open my mouth to answer, Mrs. Lee peeks out of her room, greeting us both and inviting me in. 'Nice to meet you, Sofia!' I tell her. 'You too, Tim! Oh, and if you see Lucas, keep your head down. He's not as forgiving as I am. He promised Raven to; help her find "Mr. Right" and kill him if he wasn't good to her. And to be frank, you screwed up big time!' The vise tightens around my heart, making it hard to breathe. With my words stuck in my throat, I nod a simple; thank you. Heavy steps down the hall pull her attention from me. Jacob comes into wive. Sofia squeaks as if she hasn't seen him all day before skipping towards him. He reaches for her and catches her as she jumps into his arms, lifting her and kissing her passionately while waving my way without looking. He turns on the spot with her around his waist and carries her back the way he came, disappearing down the hall. * * * 'If there wasn't anything else!' Concluded Mrs. Lee tiredly while putting her arms on the armrest. I haven't done much talking today. I've mostly grunted at her questions. If she's annoyed, she hasn't shown it. Raven wears her emotions on the outside, or at least what she wants people to think she's feeling. 'Mrs. Lee...' I say quietly. 'Why are women so complicated?' 'Who is complicated? And please, say Monica!' 'Women, women are complicated!' I sigh excessively. 'Why do you say that?' She asks, making me grunt annoyed: 'because it's true.' 'Well, some women are probably complicated! As are some men; like yourself. You wouldn't be here if your life hadn't become complicated. Am I right?' However unwilling I'm to admit it, she's right. I've been a disaster for weeks. I nearly blew it with Raven and am probably not out of the water just yet. Her demeanor from this morning was also confusing. It's as if I'm constantly questioning myself: my feelings, my emotions, my words, and my actions. 'Fine, I'm complicated!' I huff. Monica smiles softly past her glasses. 'What is it you're really wondering?' I can't help rubbing my face as I sigh again. What do I want to know? What will I have to do to make Raven trust me? How do I show her I like her? Does she like me? Will I ever become normal again? The questions are many. I don't ask any of them. 'I've found my mate!' 'Congratulations! I guess she's the complicated woman in question?' 'I barely know her. The mate bond sounded so easy until I experienced it... I don't know. I thought it would be one glance and then a done deal. But then life happened, and I didn't claim her. I made her cry.' I rant. Monica keeps smiling while nodding as I speak. 'Did you know I was a human when Magnus found me?' I didn't know that. Humans are like witches, aren't they? Just not magical. I shake my head no, looking closer at her. She's a wolf now - I can smell it. I'd never expected her to have been a human. 'Well, I was. And even if I felt an attraction and a pull, I didn't understand the bond as he did. It took him time to persuade me. He needed to woo me! Maybe your recent experiences have made it so that you need more than a pull. You might need to give it some time and get to know her?' 'Like take her on a date?' I frown. 'Yeah, for example!' Monica tells me as she stands to her feet. 'Now, If you'd excuse me, Mr. Blomberg. But my next appointment is waiting outside. Let me know how it went next week!' We said our goodbyes, and I began the walk back to the pack house. 'You promised we take her for a run!' 'I promised we'd ask her.' 'Well, she can't deny me!' He yaps happily, wagging his tail in my head. * * * Raven is in our bedroom. The sound of "our bedroom" still sends pleasurable chills down my spine. She's seated on the floor with the backpack in front of her in deep concentration. Her forehead has beads of sweat glistening on it, and her lips are mumbling words I don't understand while she moves her wand. I walk in to pass her to hide in the bathroom, unwilling to disturb her. She might not like me being in the way of her work, so I'll stay out of the way. Thor whimpers and whines. Giving me a headache. The bathroom is clean. There is not a single thing out of order. The towels are neatly hanging to dry, and our toothbrushes are in a glass on the sink. A part of her pants peeks out from the hamper, so I lift the top to put down the entire garment before putting the lid back on and sliding to the floor. 'We're not taking a run, are we?' 'Not right now,' I sighed heavily, leaning back against the wall with my eyes closed. 'Later then.' Thor decides before fading. * I must have fallen into a deep slumber on the floor. Ravens' soft skin sends a tingle from my cheek as she crawls into my lap, cupping my face and waking me up. I grunt as my arms find their way around her body, pulling her against my chest. 'Everything alright, little bird?' 'No, You disappeared. I was worried!' She whispers against my chin as she leans her face against mine. The tip of her nose touches mine, rubbing it softly. 'I've been here all along. There is no need to worry!' I hum, delighted to know she's been thinking about me. 'How'd it go with the backpack?' 'It's all done! Doggie should be able to fit in it without trouble. Now I need you!' She breathes over my lips - the air fans over my skin, soft as summer rain. I suddenly feel her rocking hips over my lap. Has she been doing that the whole time? Thor is present in the blink of an eye. He's grinning from ear to ear, and I can mentally see him exposing every single tooth. 'Yeah? We're wondering if you'd like to go on a run with us?' 'A run?' She frowns. 'You're not running. Thor is! You'd be riding his back if you'd like that?' 'Running wasn't what I had in mind...' Raven tells me - her eyebrows pulled together and her nose twitching. 'Okay, what would you like to do?' I ask cautiously. I think I can guess the answer. However, I can't get Monica's words out of my head. The bond pulls me to her, yes. I know I want her. But the physical connection isn't enough. 'It's a good start!' Yaps Thor happily. Her lips connect with mine, and my mind goes blank before it explodes in a taste sensation out of this world; Rasberrys and lemon balm - warm, sweet, and inviting. It isn't just her scent. It's her taste, her essence. It's her. Her lips move carefully over mine in a dance for dominance. Her tongue caresses my lower lip - pushing for entrance. It pains me to divert my face and kiss the corner of her mouth, then her cheek, and down her neck. 'Don't get me wrong, little bird!' I hum against her smooth skin. 'But how about we get to know each other?' Raven stops midmotion. Her breathing turns shallow at my words, and I know I f****d up. Again! 'We could take a walk and talk or something. If you're not up for a run?' I keep kissing her neck and shoulder, calming my racing heart as I wait for her to make up her mind or reject me. Her voice is suspicious and harsh when she questions me. Yet I can't contain from chuckling. 'You want to get to know me? Why?' 'Because you're my mate. And I'd like to know more about you, like; How old are you? When's your birthday? And what's your favorite color?' I look up from Raven's skin at her puzzled face. She pulls her eyebrows together again as it turns into a frown before leaning her head back and groaning - defeated. 'Fine, let's talk!' * * * The sun is brightly lighting the forest around us. The light is seeping through the branches above our heads. The cold crisp air is holding a tight grip on the world around us. However, the trees offer some sheltering from icy winds. She's in jeans, a hoodie, and a coat. The hood is peeking up from around her collar. Raven's shivering fingers hid inside my hand and her pocket on the opposite side. We walked in silence for a while, letting the forest swallow us from view. 'So...' I began tentatively. 'How old are you?' Raven sighs lightly. Her gaze is far away as she's thinking about it. 'I'm twenty-two. How about you?' 'Twenty-three. When's your birthday?' 'May 25, you?' I stop dead in my tracks, forcing her to a halt. 'For real?' I ask, looking down at her in disbelief. She shrugs as if it's old news and not that interesting. I smile even though she isn't looking. 'My birthday is May 15.' Raven throws me a side glance as if checking if I'm mocking her. 'So we're zodiac opposites?' She frowns. 'We'er opposite-what?' 'Zodicas, you know you're zodiac sign?' She has me confounded by her statement. I don't know what "sign" I am. Is that something I should know? I think it has to do with stares. 'Okay, so what? Opposites attract, don't they?' Her face erupts in a warm smile and a giggle. I don't mind her laughing at me, as long as she's happy! 'I guess!' She tells me about the different signs. They have various characteristics, elements, stones, and stuff. She's a Gemini, and I'm a Taurus. She sums me up as; persistent, loyal, patient, and protective, making me frown. 'Wath's a Gemini like then?' I wonder. 'They're; quick, impulsive, superficial, and independent!' She huffs. 'That can't be it? You're much more than can be summed up by four words!' I scowl. 'You're kind, honest, smart, and brave!' Her nose is a rose pink from the cold, and now a faint blush sneaks over her chin - bringing even more color to her face. 'You really think that?' 'Yes!' She diverts her gaze again, pulling at my hand to keep moving. I'm not sure she fully believes we have qualities depending on our zodiac signs or if it's convenient to hide behind the thought. Whichever it is, I'll let it be. We talk about favorite foods and free-time activities, mostly superficial stuff. Nothing too private. 'How is it? Being a Wolf?' Raven suddenly asks. Her voice is small and hesitant - like she's crossing a line by asking me questions about my species. 'It's awesome!' I tell her, unsure how to answer. 'I've always been one, so I don't know anything different! How is it, being a witch?' 'It's pretty great! I can do some things!' 'Yeah? I've been sucked through nothingness to reappear somewhere completely different. Any more tricks up your sleeve?' Raven smiles softly and pulls up her wand - twirling it between her fingers. 'You don't remember this because you were asleep, but I made you levitate and put you in Harry's bed when you apologized the first time.' 'You made me fly?' I ask, raising an eyebrow at her. 'Yep!' She tells me happily, popping the p. I smile down at her. 'Your pretty amazing, you know!' 'What happened to you that day?' Now I'm the one diverting my gaze and twisting myself uncomfortable. Her hand squeezes mine tightly. The tingles travel up my arms with renewed force, taking my breath away. We step over some roots, and I pull her with me, rounding some trees towards some large boulders. 'Has it anything to do with your time in the pits?' I nod slowly, not looking at her as I pull her into my arms while leaning against one of the big rocks. I rest my chin against her head, letting stands of hair tickle my face. 'I had nightmares after finding you and bringing you to the hospital.' She revelers into my chest. 'I can't imagine what you went through...' 'I don't want you to imagine it!' I whisper, my voice thick and mushy. I never wanted her to see that place. I didn't know her then. But I knew I didn't want her to see what I had done and what had been done to me. Arthur forced me to kill men in that dark hole to keep River, Olivia, and myself alive. And I did it. I killed every single one he put in front of me. I saw River and Olivia every day - but we haven't seen or spoken to one another since Raven brought me out. I feel her kiss and nuzzle my chest, burying her face into my clothes and inhaling my scent as I inhale hers. 'What do I smell like?' She asks, changing the topic. 'Heaven! I groan as I let her scent fill my nose, seeping into my mind and making me relax. She swats my chest playfully as she giggles. 'No, weirdo! For real. What do I smell like to you?' 'You smell like a perfect summer day; sun-warm raspberries and lemon balm.' I hummed as I tilted her head to face me so I could taste her.
