Chapter 14December 14th
Victor stared at his breakfast, not awake enough to eat yet.
“I need to head out.” Jian walked into the kitchen with his jacket on. “I have a job in Whiteport and with last night’s snow…I don’t want to be late.” He gave Victor a fleeting kiss. “I’ll see you tonight, we have a date.”
Victor smiled, a bit more alert. “Yeah? What are we doing?”
“You’ll have to wait and see.” Jian grinned. “I had to make a slight change in the schedule, but it’ll be great.”
Victor didn’t doubt it.
“I’ll be here, waiting for you, at five.”
“Okay. Be careful on the roads.”
“Always.” Jian blew him a kiss, hurried out the door, and Victor sighed. Normally, Jian left before he got up, but it was nice to get to see him in the morning.
