Chapter 7
Cody was mildly surprised to see Irene Valencia at Dominic’s house after school. The Latina reporter had only met them recently while snooping around Cody’s life, but seemed to insinuate herself into the survivors with little effort.
“Hey, is there a meeting today?” Cody asked as he entered the living room.
“Not officially,” Dominic replied. He and Irene each held a glass of red wine. “Adam’s in his room, and I was just going over a few things with Irene.”
“Good to see you, Cody.”
“You, too,” Cody said, although he still wasn’t sold on having the reporter around. She’d been a nuisance and lied to him, but then gotten into their good graces when she helped Cody and Adam against a rampaging spirit.
