“Jagger, watch out! Above you!” Immediately, Jagger dodged as soon as he heard Nick’s warning. It’s just a falling riped fruit. “How long do we have to wait here?!” Jagger asked, couldn’t hide his annoyance. “Until Dylan says so.” Nick just simply answered, while leaning his back on the tree trunk. “You know what? I hate this s**t! We’re here to find those morons.” “Apparently, that’s not what happened.” “Son of a--! I’ll be soon out of here. I have no patience in waiting. I can’t wait over five minutes doing nothing! I'd rather want to be in Mrs. Peregrine's class than staying out here.” “Keep it cool, dude. I’m sure Dylan knows what he’s doing.” But Jagger just sneered. “I bet he doesn’t. He can’t even beat Killan no matter what he does. He needs us, or a dozen!” Nick shook his head while grinning. “You still don’t know him, do you? Of course, Dylan won’t do a reckless thing in front of Killan.” However, their conversation was interrupted by a loud bang near them, and shortly after, they saw Dylan and Killan coming out. “Oh, s**t! What happened?” Nick and Jagger hustled towards the two and quickly supported Dylan to stand. “Get your friend out of here!” An authoritative voice came out of Killan as he growled. Threatening and telling them to not mess with him again. Killan then went back inside Jagger shoot a death glare at Nick, as the three of them hurriedly walked away from the house. “Now, tell me again if I still don’t know him?” Jagger said to Nick, which the latter just cleared his throat as he spoke too soon. “I guess you’re right. But couldn’t Killan be a little nice?” Nick asked. “Dude, Killan was already nice to us earlier. He could have thrown us out in just a snap. Dylan was just lucky he didn’t get a serious bruise from him. What did he think? Did he think he could interrogate him alone? Huh! What a pathetic!” “In case you forgot, I’m still here, you piece of s**t!” Dylan barked, but flinched as he felt the pain on his left rib. He then sat on the wooden chair a few meters away from the gate. Nick and Jagger had no choice but to sit on each of Dylan’s sides, too. “Tell us what exactly happened? Did Killan do these bruises?” “No- I did these to myself.” “You what?!” The two were shocked to hear the response they got. “I provoked him.” “Wait, what??” Jagger was the most surprised one. “But didn’t you tell us you’re just going to find out about Fred and Spencer’s exact location?!” Nick asked. “Yeah--- but he said he didn’t know. I thought he was just lying, so I kept on asking, and he exploded. I didn’t expect him to attack me, though.” Jagger scoffed upon hearing. “I told you before. You shouldn’t be alone with him. He has anger issues, so you need companions while talking with him.” “I can handle him, Jagger. He’s not just having a nice day today.” “Having a nice day, your ass! You should have brought us there with you. I know you, Dylan. You love to annoy him whenever you have the chance to.” “And then what? Did you think you could beat him, too?” “No- at least me and Nick could have stopped him from limping you.” Jagger grinned while teasing Dylan as he poked Dylan’s left rib. “Fucker!” Nick was laughing while watching the two bickering like a lover. “Enough for that. We need to hurry and get back to class. I don’t want Mrs. Peregrine to look for us. Not gonna happen again!” Said Nick as he stood up and pulled Dylan up, too. The last time Mrs. Peregrine had looked for him was when he and his girls were doing unorthodox activities in the middle of the forest. It was also when Killan had fought against the alpha and the beta of the forsaken pack, the Descendants Pack. It was the first fight Killan had since he was reigning the Olympus. It was also the day Killan’s mate got killed. That time Nick was out with the girls while Killan and the others were on a life and death fight against the enemies. So when Mrs. Peregrine found him having a threesome, she had gone mad and reprimanded them for a month's suspension in class and had done two weeks’ training with only four hours’ rest. Since then, he vowed never to take his shenanigans in the forest and never let Mrs. Peregrine to look for him. “I can handle myself, Nick.” Dylan refused the help and just letting himself suffer the pain every time he exerted energy to walk straight. “Oh-okay.” Nick then motioned his hand, letting Dylan to walk ahead first. “Are you sure you don’t need our help?” Jagger asked after a few moments of walking. “Yes. I’m fine!” “Alright. Suit yourself, man.” They continued walking to their second to the last subjects. It’s already seven in the evening and all classes will end at nine in the evening. That is why the curfew time is at eleven. “Good evening, Mrs. Peregrine.” Nick greeted their forty-five years old professor as they entered her classroom. “What a surprise?! Usually the three of you were the last people to enter my class. Considering, so late!” “People change too, Mrs. Peregrine.” Nick winked as he went straight to his chair, followed by Jagger. While Dylan was trudging. The good thing was, his bruises were now healing. “And you Dylan? Where do you think you’re going?” Mrs. Peregrine stopped Dylan from his track. “Is there a problem?” “Go to the infirmary. Have your wounds be checked.” Said Mrs. Peregrine. She already got used to seeing Dylan walking in her class who looked like came from a fight. She couldn’t do anything about it since Dylan was from a higher class family. “I’m fine.” Mrs. Peregrine didn’t insist anymore. She knew it’s pointless to do it since Dylan wouldn’t even do as she said. “Our class will start in about ten minutes. If you have some assignments you forgot to answer, do it now! But I need you to stay quietly!” A few moments have passed and the door burst open. All eyes are at the woman who just came inside which was none other than Samantha. “Good evening. Are you in this class?” Mrs. Peregrine asked. “Hi. Uhm, yes. I believe this is Mrs. Leslie Peregrine’s class.” “Yes, you’re right. Look for an available chair and hurry as we’re about to start.” “Okay. Thank you.” The moment Samantha sat in the chair, Dylan quickly got her attention. “Fancy seeing you here, Sam.” “Oh! Uhm, yeah. And you’re Dylan, right?” “Yep. The one and only.” “Dude, who’s she?” Nick immediately went to Dylan's side while pulling his chair. “Sam, this is my friend Nick, and that guy behind you is my friend too, Jagger.” Samantha greeted them and tried to mind her own business after. However, Dylan and Nick were not making it possible. “Dude! Let the woman sit in peace.” Said Jagger. “Alright! Our class starts now. Turn your book on page 33.” Said Mrs. Peregrine. Samantha did her best to focus on listening to the discussion. But the strange feeling of being watched was still there. Since she entered into the classroom, that strange feeling had gotten stronger. “Are you okay?” Dylan noticed her getting uncomfortable. “Yes. Thanks." As much as possible, Samantha wanted to get no attention from anyone because that's how people did to her before. They ignored her as if she was not there while talking about her. Madison clearly told her she's just a rug that anyone could step and crash on.
