Chapter 7Wayne’s phone alarm went off at six A.M., jolting them both from a sound sleep. After a round of yawns and stretches and eye rubs, they climbed out of the truck and headed in for a shower. With a quick bite of breakfast and some groceries purchased for lunch, they were on the road by 7:30. The warehouse they were headed to was only a half-hour away, so they made it right on time for their eight o’clock pickup. Wayne maneuvered the truck up against the loading dock and set the brakes. It took a little over two hours to load the dozens of pallets of specially cut lumber that would be used to make furniture.
