Chapter 6Sunday morning, Toby and Wayne slept late. It was almost 9:30 before they got up. The day was bright and sunny, but hot. Forecast was for a high in the mid-nineties. They showered and ate a big breakfast in the restaurant. Wayne insisted on paying the bill so Toby took the opportunity to talk to one of the clerks about options for ways to spend their day. When they were walking back to the truck, Wayne asked, “What you feel like doin’ today?” Toby smiled and said, “I’ve got a day planned for us.” “What?” Wayne asked, surprised. “Whaddya mean you’ve got a day planned?” “I do,” Toby said, emphatically. “I mean, if it’s okay?” Wayne smiled and gave Toby a playful push. “Whatever you’re up for, I’m down for,” he said, laughing. “Okay, we need to take the truck down the street a
