Chapter 9: A new beginning...

--- "Next destination! The city of Aria in the Kingdom of Dinsfurd! Everyone get ready!"

"We are almost here! I couldn't wait anymore!" enthusiastically says a person whose face we've already seen already. Four years have passed and Yoso's training came to an end. The ship he is on is going to arrive in Dinsfurd in a short period of time.

"Miss Kurata! We are almost there!"

"I have told you every single day of this trip that I am not that old! Give up on the formalities already, Yoso!"

"Sure, miss Kurata!"

 Hearing him, Saki Kurata puts her hands on her face and sighs, wondering if he actually is doing this intentionally.

"Remember what you have to do after you get there right? You have to fight the Zodiacks."

"Yes! I am pumped up! I didn't fight anyone in a big period of time!"

"What do you mean?! You literally fought every single soldier you could lay your fingers on in Melyndor! Not to mention that you fought with Taka... yesterday..."

"Details! I will defeat the Zodiacks and go fight against Authorania's army!"

"Sigh... Zodiacks aren't that weak, and some of them actually changed in the past four years. If we had weak Zofiack members in the past, those are on a whole other level so don't get too pumped up!"

"I will be fine! How strong can they be after all?"

"You don't even know..."

 While Saki and Yoso were talking, the ship had already arrived. They left and went towards the academy to meet with Laure. However, out of nowhere, an explosion sound could be heard, making every citizen nearby panic.

"What was that?!" shouts Yoso

 Every citizen around is already scared and asking the same question as Yoso. Some of them start talking about a subject that Yoso does not know about yet.

"It's them again! Black Cross!" shouts a person in the huge crowd of worried people

 Everyone then starts running and screaming with fear.

"Black Cross... So this is what Laure was talking about in those letters."

"Letters? You know anything about this miss Saki?" asks Yoso, curious about the situation

"Yes. Mister Principal told me in some letters two years ago that some weird group appeared in Dinsfurd. They sustain that they are from Authorania and started gathering money and resources from Dinsfurd's citizens. In those two years, the "Black Cross" became like a religious cult. Other citizens joined them and even soldiers from our army left and went with them."

"Then, who isn't anyone stopping them?!"

"We can't... Their soldiers are not that strong, however, we could not localize their base and we don't know anything about their leader. And with the influence they got in two years, they got as many people as to rival with a small army. We can't risk a war inside our borders."

"Why are they doing this...?" asks Yoso with a calm tone, wondering about the ulterior motives of such crimes

"Isn't it obvious? They are working for Authorania. Dinsfurd got a huge variety of resources and money that they want. We are also the weakest military kingdom." says Saki

"I understand now... They work for Authorania... Would you mind if we made a stop on our way to the academy?"

"What do you want to do?"

"Nothing serious... The blood is just boiling inside me!" says Yoso while life force started to concentrate around him.

 After saying this, he starts running in the direction the explosions were heard at before. He wants to see the results of his training in a real fight, and also see how strong those "Black Cross" members are.

"Help me! Someone!" a screaming girl's voice could be heard from the place where Yoso was going.

"What is... happening there?" says Yoso terrified after arriving at the incident's place

 Yoso starts wishing he never saw this scene. Tens of bodies, hurt and dead lying on the ground.

"Why...? Why did this have to happen?! This happened after I left?!"

"Boss! Some kid is still alive there!" says one member of Black Cross

"Huh... Why are you telling me? Just kill him if he is no use."

"Help me!" the girl's voice could still be heard in the zone

"They saw me! There is no time for this. If someone is still alive there! I will keep going!" thinks Yoso while slowly walking towards the Black Cross' members

"Hey, kid! What do you think? Would you like to get down as those people as well... or should I make you do so?"

"I have just one question... How much time would it take for me to get past you and save that girl over there?"

 Hearing Yoso's question, every grunt in the zone starts laughing with tears in their eyes. For them, this is probably the funniest joke they heard in a while, and for Yoso, this is the most serious thing he has ever asked.

"You are funny, kid! You could've been an incredible clown!"

"I am sorry... I am not into big shoes at all," says Yoso just before disappearing from the grunt's visual field.

"Thunder Element- One thousand volts."

 With one punch, Yoso makes the grunt faint. But he felt that hit too. He doesn't have his catalyst with him, so he was forced to use pure life force. He is using even less power than if he had his catalyst since if he had released his power without one, he would most probably die. His downside for using his thunder element is that his muscles will feel a shock as well when he uses it.

"Maybe I overdid it... It hurts like hell!" says Yoso

 Yoso starts running once again, this time towards the grunt that's holding the girl, and punches him right in the face. He takes the girl and uses his thunder element to increase his speed once again, bringing the girl to a safe place.

"Are you alright?" asks Yoso after letting the girl down

"Y-yes! Who are you, sir?" asks the girl

"I am... busy right now, so please get to a safer place!" says Yoso just before starting to run once again to the battlefield, leaving behind the astonished girl looking at his back

 The grunts there were still taking money from the buildings from that place, walking over corpses of the people they killed. Seeing this scene, Yoso, enraged goes with his lightning speed and starts attacking the Black Cross grunts with his thunder powers.

"Well well... We sure have one interesting young gentleman over here. Would you mind joining us, kid?" says the boss of that group walking to Yoso

"Are you the leader of the Black Cross!?" shouts Yoso, making all the grunts start laughing.

"I didn't even see the face of the Black Cross' boss once until now! I am just one of his underclassmen. The leader of this small group!"

"S-small? There are at least two hundred people here!" shouts Yoso

"Don't underestimate Black Cross kid. You are going to get crucified if you do!" says the boss that runs towards Yoso, holding onto his longsword

"Well... That posture sure isn't one that a real leader would take," says Yoso after catching the leader's hand, forcing him to drop his sword. "You shouldn't underestimate me either. What is your name?"

"Don't watch like that! Attack him!"

"Wow, nice to meet you mister 'Don't watch like that! Attack him!'. Your name is quite long, so I will call you Mister Attack," says Yoso

 Mister 'Attack' manages to free his hand from Yoso's grip and backs down behind his soldiers.

"You are not going anywhere!" says Yoso, following him with a thunder element attack

"Let's see how well you can handle two thousand volts," says Yoso

 The attack throws 'Attack' right in the middle of the grunts.

"Crap! That hurt me way too much. I can feel the downside way too much..." thinks Yoso

"Your magic is kinda like mine. You use a sword as a catalyst and grow its power with your life force. If I can stop. If I can stop that sword you are done for. You are no different from your grunts." says Yoso

"I will make you eat your words! Everyone, attack him! He doesn't have a catalyst! He can't beat you all at once!" shouts Attack

"Crap, they got me... Hope miss Saki gets there with my catalyst faster!" thinks Yoso

 The fight started and after just five minutes in, Yoso is already too tired to keep up with the constant waves of attacks.

"I should have used another element. But I will collapse if I change them too often! The thunder element is hurting me too much. What is miss Saki doing?" thinks Yoso

"He is tired enough! Now it's your chance! Attack him with all you've got!"

 As said, all the grunts fire their strongest attack towards Yoso with all their life force.

"I can't dodge that... I can't move at all!"

"Wind element- One thousand wind blades!"

An incredible attack came from the sky, destroying half of the grunts over there, as well as negating all of their attacks.

 The leader looks terrified after looking at the sky, just to realize that attack could only be of one guy.

"The Gemini Wind Zodiack... Kein Shimada!"

"Hey, kid... It looks like you need help over there!"
