Chapter 10: The best team

 ---Terrified by the tremendous power of the attack that obliterated half of his "army", Mister Attack can think only of a person in this kingdom that can use such powerful wind magic.

"Kids these days... They love interrupting adults' business. This lightning kid first, and now, The Gemini sign of Wind, Kein Shimada."

"Hey kid, it looked like you needed a hand," says Kein that just arrived at the face of the battle to assist his old friend.

"Mister Kein? Why, why are you- starting to get transparent?! I can literally see through your body!"

"Not even a "hello", I see. I will explain this to you once we clear the mess over there," says Kein with a grin on his face.

 Meanwhile, a late participant appeared with breathing difficulties after running four streets without a break.

"Kid... Next time you run without thinking, please, don't try making me do this as well. I am not a lightning use like you, you get it?!" says Kurata with a serial killers' vibe

 Yoso just made her run four streets without a break, just because he didn't think of the consequences of fighting so many people without his catalyst. She was really anxious that something bad might have happened to him.

"She is going to kill me!" thinks Yoso

 Then Kurata throws Yoso his sword. He catches it and just by getting it out of its case, the results of his training could be visibly seen. The sword was really torn and used. It looked like it was ready to break at any point.

"That kid... Poor sword. He is no joke... It looks like he used the sword for years. He trained really much." thinks Attack

"Oh wow! It is already this worn off? It just got repaired last week!" exclaims Yoso

 A weird silence falls on the battlefield.

"I think it's time to use you again before you get repaired again," says Yoso while putting his life force into the sword. The sword starts glowing into a wonderful yellow as shiny as gold. A single step... After taking his fighting pose, it looked like a single step is what he needed. The terrain behind him almost exploded as he started running. His unmatched speed and sword skills cut through the soldiers, making a way towards 'Attack'.

 Kein gets down from the air and walks to Kurata.

"So this is the downside Mister Principal told me about. You really look like you are disappearing, kid," says Kurata

"Yeah, I don't really like it as well. Especially that I have to keep those on my hands."

"But isn't this your catalyst? Why did your downside activate while you had it on?"

"They aren't range weapons after all, and that guy needed help so I tried to get him out of the situation as fast as possible. Now if you'll excuse me... Since I got into this, I might as well not let that guy get all the attention." says Kein just before running towards the battlefield with his Steel Claws weapon.

 Kein goes as fast as the wind and executes the Black Cross cultists one after another and then gets to Yoso. "Yo, wanna make a bet?"

"He is fast... He got behind me in a few seconds after leaving miss Kurata." thinks Yoso and then asks again: "What kind of bet? What are we betting on?"

"Well, we bet for nothing, let's see who catches the leader first," says Kein

"Hmm, interesting! Let's do this mister Kein!"

 As they both agreed on the bet, they both started being serious. Their life force bursts as they both run through the soldiers towards the leader.

"Who are those kids?! We can't stop them! Captain! We need to retreat!"

"No! Let them come to me! I will crush them for humiliating me!" shouts Attack with a desperate look on his face

"I think it's time for me to clean all this mess..." thinks Yoso

"Element change... Fire. Fire skill: Blast Burn!" and while channelling his life force, Yoso puts his sword into the ground, letting all the power out.

 The fire leaving the ground ignites everyone on the battlefield with the exception of Kein.

"Can he really... control this spell to such an extent that he can avoid using it on me?!" thinks Kein with an astonished face, looking around him at the burning cultists.

 But of course, using a spell with such a big area of effect has its downsides. Yoso used the lightning element too much without his catalyst and he also changed to fire in the middle of the fight to use such a ridiculous spell. He is exhausted and as a result... He collapsed...

"Even though he collapsed..." Kein murmurs while looking at Yoso, that have written on the ground with his fire powers before fainting: "I win this one, Mister Kein."

"Well, it actually seems like we both lost somehow..." says Kein while looking at 'Attack' that fainted on the spot after being burned by Yoso's spell.

"Kein! You i***t left us again and went all by yourself!" Some familiar faces appear shouting for Kein. Shizuo and Shouko came after hearing all the mess going down here. Apparently, Kein left them and went flying by himself. They actually were going to meet with Yoso and Kurata on their road towards the Academy.

"Don't think about me, Shizuo. Do you see the boy lying on the ground in the middle of those crisped idiots?"

"Yes, I see him. He looks like someone I know..."

"He is someone you know, i***t! It's Yoso..."

 Then Shouko replies out of nowhere: "Wait! Was he always this tall? I can bet he is taller than you by a head, Kein!"

"Just take him. That i***t overdid himself again."

"Oh! Kurata! You are here as well!"

"Of course I am. If I weren't, this kid would go all by himself and this would happen every time."

"He became really strong. I can sense it just by having him on my back now. His life force really is something else..." says Shizuo

"He is strong, but he is still just as reckless as ever. Imagine how frustrated he will be after realizing that he fainted just after coming back. But still... That fire spell... If I was an enemy..." murmurs Kein

"It is... His fire element has most of his strongest spells, even though everyone told him to stop using fire in Melyndor. His spells on that element are incredible. But the downside is too big. That's why he needs to stick to water and thunder since he couldn't learn another element since the fight with the principal."

"Well,  I wouldn't think it would be easy. Controlling all the elements should be hard, and he is just as young as us..." says Shouko

"Leaving this subject alone. I think it's time you go to see Mister Principal. I will get some units here and take those guys where they belong." says Kein

"Sure thing. Let's go!" says Shizuo

  Looking at Kein while he leaves, one of Kurata's thoughts leaves her mouth without her even realizing: "Kein Shimada, huh? He and Yoso might make the perfect team..."
