As Noah left with her dad, my own parents came up to me, with Clarke in my mom's arms. I was nervous about what they would want to talk to me about. I knew they had always been kind and accepting people, but I couldn’t help but worry that this would be an exception.
"Do you want to talk about it?" my dad asked me.
I shook my head.
"Alright, but just letting you know that we love you no matter what," my dad said.
I sighed in relief.
"By the way, we think that we will be the ones to come and live with you here," my mom added.
"Seriously? So that means we get to move here?" I asked.
My mom nodded.
This was amazing. We were going to move to L.A.! I was going to get to live with my favorite people in a beautiful house! I was just so incredibly happy I wanted to scream and cry of joy. I knew the other girls felt the same. When we got back to the hotel, we essentially had a party.
“Let’s celebrate with a real party,” Amber suggested.
“We should invite some of the other contestants from X-Factor that are here!” I suggested.
“What do we want to do?” Maia asked.
“How about we have a huge housewarming party?” Noah suggested.
“Definitely!” Jordan agreed.
We each got to work inviting the different people we used to see on a daily basis. Amber invited Tyler, a guy we all suspected her to date while we were filming, but didn’t. Jordan invited Rose and Ruby, two girls who were a little younger than us. Noah and Ally reached out to Jack, Joe, and Jason, three brothers who had a back together. I reached out Ethel, a girl about my age who competed by herself.
"Perhaps we should see if we move, first," Maia said after a moment.
"Of course we're going to move to that house," I said, more to reassure myself of the dream than anyone else.
“We will,” Noah squeezed my hand to reassure me before gently brushing her lips against mine.
“You two need to go on a proper date," Maia declared.
“Jordan and I will plan it!” Amber jumped up from the couch, “Maia, bring our lovely couple somewhere.”
“To the mall!” Maia declared.
Amber and Jordan rushed the three of us out of the door. We made our way to the mall a few blocks away. Even though we had just recently eaten, I was still starving, so I bought ice cream the moment we got there. I devoured it. We hit the stores as soon as finished, looking for appropriate outfits for this date. We shopped until we dropped. Literally. By the end of the day, I felt so dizzy I tripped over my own feet, falling on top of all of my new clothes.
“Charlie! Are you okay?” Noah rushed to my side.
“Yeah, I’m just klutzy,” I played it off like it was nothing.
Of course, I trusted Noah. We hadn’t been dating for very long, but with our friendship being a strong foundation, I felt like I could tell her anything. I just wasn’t sure why I was dizzy, and I didn’t want to worry her. I was probably still hungry.
“Let’s head back to the hotel,” Maia said, “Amber and Jordan just texting me saying we’re allowed now.”
We walked into our hotel room to reveal two entire carts of room service food, which I was more than thankful for. I dropped my bags on the ground and made a beeline for the first thing I could grab. It was chicken. I could feel my mouth watering with pleasure.
If only I had known what all of this meant. Then again, even if I had, there was nothing I would be able to do to stop it.
