Noah

Everything was perfect. Amber had helped me prepare everything while she had Jordan distract Charlie. When Charlie walked into her bedroom, she was utterly shocked. That made sense, since after all, the lights were off and the room was filled with candles instead, making a romantic mood. “What is all of this?” she asked. “Jordan and Amber’s date.” “Do I get to know what’s in store for us tonight?" “Our date is simple, yet magnificent,” I explained, pulling out a tub of ice cream, “Let's cuddle while we eat and watch a comedy." "Wow, I guess I'm easy to read," she laughed. I wrapped my arm around Charlie's shoulder and pulled her close to me. She put the ice cream on her lap, then her head on my shoulder. I bent down then pulled out a bag of popcorn, a bag of candy, and a remote control for the flat screen TV in our room. Food and movies with Charlie are always good. I wasn't really paying attention to the movie, though. I was only really paying attention to Charlie. I knew she was in more pain than she was letting on. Something was wrong. I wanted her to trust me enough to tell me. I knew I would have to pry it out of her, not to disrespect her privacy, but to make sure she could get whatever help she needed. “So,” I started as the movie finished, “What happened last night?” “What do you think happened?” she snapped, shaking me off of her. “Honestly, I have no idea. That’s why I’m asking.” “You’ll hate me if you know.” “No, I could never!” “Promise?” “Of course,” I was getting worried. “Rudy and I, back when we were dating, did some stuff. It was only one time, and I hated every moment of it. He didn’t wear any protection, though,” she trailed off. “Do you have an STI?” “No…” “Are you… pregnant?” “I”m so scared, Noah,” she nodded, tears welling up in her eyes, “I have a kid growing in my stomach, and I'm not even sixteen yet! Do you know what the fans will say? My family? I don’t want this. I can’t do this." Charlie held onto me tightly as she cried. I wrapped my arms around her. I didn’t know what to say to comfort her, so I stayed quiet. Of course, I didn’t hate her for this or anything like that. I was just so scared for her. What were we going to do? “I have to tell Rudy, don’t I?” Charlie asked after a while. “Rudy definitely needs to know,” I confirmed, “But I won't let you tell him alone. We'll get through this, together, okay?" She looked up at me and smiled weakly. I held her tighter. After a moment, we decided to get some sleep. I put the snacks away before cuddling with Charlie until we fell asleep. Morning came around and I awoke to Charlie moving in my arms. I looked into her sleepy eyes and kissed her sweetly. She giggled at this, so I kissed her again, this time more passionately. Kissing Charlie was the best feeling. I could lay there all morning just kissing, not escalating to something more, and be elated with that. Unfortunately, a rumbling in Charlie’s stomach, that was so loud I was able to hear it, reminded us we needed to eat breakfast. “Good morning girls,” Maia greeted us as we entered the kitchen. Everything was eerily spotless. Maia handed us plates of French toast and had us sit at the island instead of the perfectly set kitchen table. While this was nice, something was definitely off. “What’s with all of this?” I asked. "Not that we don't love it," Charlie added. "Don't get mad, but the guys are coming over today," Maia told us. "When were we supposed to find out?" "Jordan, Amber, and I found out last week, but we weren’t sure whether or not to tell you, and then there was never the right time,” she trailed off. “Fine, I guess. When are they coming?” I asked. Before Maia could answer, knocking came from the front door.
