Charlie

1051 Words
I ran as fast as I could back home. I immediately grabbed my blade and locked myself in the bathroom as I began to cry my eyes out. I was just so angry that Maia and Jordan had helped me out for a date that was supposed to be for me just to find out that it was for Amber all along. What a cruel stab in the back. “Charlie, open up,” Noah called from outside the door. At the sound of her voice, I slashed my wrist. "Charlie, please, don't ignore me," she pleaded. Putting down the blade, I went to bandage my wrist, then open the door. I couldn’t ignore her forever. Sitting there cutting myself, no matter how much relief it brought me, wasn’t going to solve anything. I had to do something differently if I wanted things to change. I led Noah without a word to my bed, where I laid down, putting my head on the pillow, looking up at her. "You know that date was meant for you," she said. "Maia told me, but clearly not," I muttered. "I swear it was for you. Amber helped me set up. I noticed something was up with Amber, so I was trying to comfort her," she explained. "Sorry I doubted you, but do you blame me for having doubts?" I asked after a moment. She shook her head. "I wish you could forgive me," Noah mumbled after a moment; however, I knew that I probably wasn't supposed to hear that, so I didn't answer her. “Hey Charlie, why is your bandage all red?" she questioned after a moment of silence. Panic came over me as I looked at my bandage to see that I was bleeding through it. Noah took my wrist and gently placed her fingers on the bandage. When she removed them, they were red. I could tell she was freaking out, even though she was trying her best to hide it. “Get out,” I said instinctually. “I’m not leaving until you explain.” “I fell on some broken glass on the way back.” “Really I followed you and I didn’t see you fall,” Noah was too smart to believe my lie. “Just get thye f**k out of my room,” I snapped. Noah clearly looked conflicted. She decided to listen to my request, which I was grateful for. Moments later, though, I got a text from Blaire, asking me if I was okay. I knew Noah had texted her, but I was still glad to hear from her. I confessed the truth to her. Blaire was in my room within minutes. She tended to my bad cut, then bandaged it up again. I wrapped my arms around her tiny frame and rested my head on her chest. While it was comforting to hug Blaire, I knew Noah’s affection would comfort me more, and I hated it. I pushed those feelings aside and decided to watch movies with Blaire for the evening. When Blaire had to head home, I picked up my guitar. I began to play random chords that sounded pretty when I realized that I was actually playing an old song I used to love. I didn’t even notice Noah appear in my doorway until she spoke up and startled me. "You're really great at playing guitar," she gave me a shy smile.  "Thanks," I replied. "I'm truly sorry for everything," Noah told me as she sat down on my bed. "I know," I sighed. "Will you ever forgive me?" "I honestly have no idea. I want to be with you, I really do, but I don't want to get hurt again," I confessed. "I promise, if you give me a second chance, I will never hurt you again," she said as she took my right hand  "How can I be sure?" On the spur of the moment, Noah pulled a small box out of her pocket. She got up from my bed and got down on one knee. She opened the box to reveal a ring. "Holy crap, are you asking me to marry you?" I asked as my heart skipped several beats. "Just hear me out okay?" Lauren asked as I began rambling on. "Okay," I gave a shy giggle. "Ever since I first met you, I knew that we had something special. Right from the beginning, I wanted to get to know you and be your friend. Then, you told me that you like me, and honestly, I didn't know what to do. I love you more than anyone else in the whole world, and I was just scared of what would happen. I'm glad I admitted my feelings for you; I'm glad we've gone through everything we have, yes even the bad things, because they've made us stronger, or at least I hope they have. This ring is a promise ring. If you wear it, I will promise to never hurt you ever again. I love you so much, Charlie, and I will do anything to make you happy," Noah said, bringing tears to my eyes. Right away, I wrapped my arms around her tightly. When I finally let go, I kissed her passionately. Noah licked my lower lip, asking for entrance, which I happily granted. The kiss got heated as it became a make out session, yet too soon, we both ran out of breath and pulled away. We heard screams from downstairs. We ran to the girls to see them screaming with joy. "What's going on?" I asked. "We're going on tour with the guys!" Maia exclaimed happily. Both Noah and I began to scream with joy along with the girls. We all ended up in a group hug, and when we let go, I grabbed Noah's hand, causing her to smile even more. "Guys, this is really opening the door to our career," Jordan commented. "Opening the door? More like breaking down the door," I replied with a laugh. The girls laughed with me, and in that moment everything was perfect. We really were going to break down the door, and I was so glad that it was with the people I loved.
