4 He Wants to Kill Edward?

1310 Words
About an hour later, Louis emerged from the bedroom. Elizabeth immediately approached him with deep concern and asked, "Dr. Rand, how is Edward doing now?" "Madam, Edward's condition has improved somewhat. It seems that the young madam has been taking good care of him." Upon hearing this, Elizabeth looked at Emily and furrowed her brow slightly. Could it be true, as the Gypsy woman had said, that her son's turning point lies with this woman? However, even so, she still couldn't fully trust this woman. After everyone left, Elizabeth held her head high and warned Emily once again, "This is only the first day. Stay alert at all times. If anything happens to Edward, I will hold you accountable!" Emily didn't know where Elizabeth's disdain towards her came from. Perhaps it was her sense of superiority in high society, looking down on someone of her ordinary background. If she were to discover that Emily was just a substitute bride and a Black's illegitimate daughter, she would probably dislike her even more. Thinking of this, Emily rubbed her temples wearily and prepared to enter the bedroom. However, instead of finding only Edward in the room, an unwelcome guest was there. Quill hadn't noticed the person behind him, his gaze fixed on Edward lying in bed, revealing a sinister smile. "Edward, oh Edward, you're still the same. Louis just told me that you're slightly better, but I don't think so. You still look half-dead to me. I thought that woman really had some magic to wake you up." Quill's low tone was filled with mockery and contempt. His eyes were as cold as venomous snakes as he carefully scanned Edward's body. Then, he slowly pulled out a sharp knife and walked toward Edward. In a state of alarm, Emily quickly stepped forward and rebuked, "What are you doing?!" This man actually wanted to kill Edward?! In the Miller household, in Edward's bedroom, he shamelessly took out a knife without any regard. It was simply audacious! Quill turned around, showing no signs of being frightened. On the contrary, his smile deepened. He calmly put away the knife, not minding that Emily saw it. He approached her, scrutinizing her from head to toe as if he were examining merchandise. His cold gaze swept over Emily and finally lingered on her ample bosom for a few seconds. Emily felt a tingling sensation on her scalp, as if she were being licked by a poisonous snake. She mustered the courage to carefully inspect Edward's body and noticed a shallow cut on his exposed wrist. At this point, how could Edward still pretend to be asleep? If she hadn't noticed Quill, was he planning to let the other person harm him?! "This is the Miller house, and you dare to target a comatose patient?!" "Heh, the Miller house? I am Quill Miller, also a member of the family. I heard your name is Emily, and you're so beautiful. Why not be with me? I promise to give you everything you desire." Quill's gaze once again wandered over Emily's curvaceous body, not satisfied with just looking. He even reached out his hand, wanting to touch her face. Slap! The crisp sound echoed in the quiet bedroom. Emily displeasingly slapped away Quill's hand, and the cold, damp touch sent shivers down her spine. "Edward is lying right here, and you dare to bully his wife in front of him?" However, despite the scolding, Quill responded even more brazenly, "He's a vegetative patient, what reaction can he have to the outside world? But you, so young, are you willing to spend your whole life with a vegetable? Besides, what can he offer you? But if you follow me, I'll make sure you're constantly satisfied." Emily glared at Quill with disgust. They were from the same family, yet he had such a penchant for stealing other men's wives? "Why would I follow you? I like vegetative people. I'm interested in them. If you become a vegetative patient, I might consider being with you. But..." Emily paused, looking at Quill in the same way he looked at her, then shook her head with disdain, clearly showing her contempt. Quill was left speechless for the first time as he looked at Emily, who refused to back down and stared at him defiantly. Finally, he could only leave with a harsh remark, "Interesting, very interesting! Let me tell you, by rejecting me, you will regret it one day!" Emily watched as Quill left the bedroom and quickly closed the door. She hurriedly grabbed a towel and carefully wiped the blood off Edward's arm. Luckily, she had noticed it early, and the wound wasn't deep. "Why won't the bleeding stop?!" Emily wondered as she continued to wipe, but fresh blood kept oozing out. It was then that she noticed Edward's clenched fist, and the bulging veins revealed his anger. "Edward, please don't move, the blood is flowing again!" Emily quickly reached for a nearby bandage to wrap his arm, but Edward suddenly opened his eyes and pushed her away forcefully, saying, "Get out!" Even though the bedroom was carpeted, Emily was caught off guard by the push, and the friction against her skin caused a burning pain. She cried out in pain, feeling a surge of anger. She had kindly tried to bandage Edward, but he pushed her away?! It seemed that her good intentions were not appreciated! "What's wrong with you? Why did you push me? If it weren't for me, Quill would have cut your veins open!" Edward stepped forward, grabbing Emily's arm, and his deep blue eyes burned like raging fire. "Are you planning to be with Quill? Then go! No need to pretend to care for me here." "When did I say I wanted to be with him?!" Emily felt a sense of injustice and extreme displeasure. "Have you lost your hearing from lying in bed for so long?!" "If I were really a vegetative patient, were you really planning to be with him? Huh, can it be as pleasurable as when he was f*****g you?" Emily widened her eyes. Did Edward hear all of Quill's vulgar words? "I'm not that kind of person!" Emily was about to explain but was interrupted by Edward. His words, spoken from his lips, felt like a bucket of ice-cold water, sending a chilling sensation through Emily's entire body. "Ten million, and you would sell yourself, marry into the Miller family. Is there anything you wouldn't do?" The coldness spread, penetrating Emily's limbs and bones. She had wanted to explain, but suddenly felt it was futile. Despite helping Edward and preventing Quill from harming him, she ended up enduring such humiliation. Marrying into this family was never her choice, but in everyone's eyes, she was just a woman who could be sold for money! Tears welled up in Emily's eyes as she looked at the furious man, and she coldly stood up. "Fine, you're proud and mighty. Well, I'm just that despicable! I won't care about you anymore. You deserve to be hurt by others!" With those words, Emily stormed out of the bedroom. Edward paused for a moment, silently sitting back on the edge of the bed. Once again, he nearly lost control because of her. The feeling that enveloped his chest wasn't just anger, but something... bitter? Seeing Emily with her red eyes, on the verge of tears, Edward suddenly felt uneasy. After all, she had saved him in time. Without Emily's intervention, he would have either been injured by Quill or exposed. Both outcomes were something Edward didn't want to see. He seemed to have repaid kindness with ingratitude, but when he heard Quill expressing interest in her, that surge of anger couldn't be suppressed! He didn't want to admit it, but he really had almost lost control because of a woman!
