Hunger of Meeting You

1627 Words
Damon opens his eyes, meeting the glaring sun that passes through his curtain windows. He woke up with a heavy head due to his little to almost no sleep. Damon rises from his bed with only boxers on. He stretches his body while opening the long curtains that dance along with the wind. Minutes later, Dame was pacing back and forth. His mind is full of what-if scenarios. But, there is one thing he's sure of, he has a mate. He remembers what happened in the Blue Lagoon where the mind link happens, but he is hesitant as unmated couples cannot create a mind link. The shivers, excitement, fear, and longing- all at once came to him when she said they're mates. But he feels disappointed when she cut it out without waiting for his response. She's a little bit selfish on that part. Damon decided to clean up after several hours of doing nothing. Yet, whatever he does, the small and soft voice of the girl lingers on his mind, and it makes him insane. 'What have you done to me?' He walked out of his room and went straight to the training ground. He was apparently late, and he was walking like an unspirited being, pacing without his mind fully coordinating with his action. It's like he is on drugs. His mind is high like the sky above. "Dame, what's with the long face?" Laya asked after he stepped foot on the pack's training ground. Laya is the newbies trainor for girls while he is for the boys. He shrugs his shoulder and walks directly to where the beta and delta son is located. "Oh, Dame. I wonder why you're late?" Leon, the delta son, asked while arranging the fighting equipment. "I've already told them what they should do," Lourde spoke, referring to the newbies. Damon nods his head as he gets a can of soda. He heaves a sigh and proceeds to his seat while watching the pack officers monitor the duel of these new pack warriors. The training is intense as usual. Damon can sense the heavy breathing of the warriors, the groaning and hissing of teeth. Everyone wants to win. None of them wanted to be defeated. The pride of each warrior is what gives them strength. They have a clear focus and aim of what they want to achieve. Damon drinks the soda while scanning the area. Some look pitiful and tired. Perhaps it is because they have not given a day off to these soldiers. The current Alpha is a bit harsh when it comes to practice, and everyone must abide by the rules being implemented by their leaders, or they'll be exiled. "Laya's looking at you. We can handle these soldiers. You should talk to her. You kept missing the chance," Leon jokes around while looking back and forth to him and Layla. His face darkened as he didn't like the joke. If his mate is here, Leon would probably be in a casket. "Quit the jokes, Leon. Our Alpha is waiting for his Luna," "It's now or never, Dame," Leon spoke again, not minding Lourde's word. A loud thud in the place interrupted the soldiers. Their eyes fixated on the girl's battleground because Leon suddenly flew away towards Laya, where the girls practiced. "Damn you, Dame," Leon hissed as he tried to get back into composure while clutching his back which was knocked in the walls. "FOCUS!" Everyone flickered with Damon's command and refocused themselves in doing their training. "Did it hurt Leon?" Lourde asked while showing his smirk. Probably teasing his number one nemesis. "Shut up, dog!" Damon shakes his head in annoyance. He finished his drink and threw the can elsewhere. Yet, the two are still fighting like some childish she-wolf. "You two look like a couple fighting over nothing," "What the hell, Dame. Leon is a disgusting s**t," Lourde replied, covering himself like a f*****g gay. If Damon didn't know how a f*****g womanizer and ruthless Lourde is and how good he is in fighting, he would've thought of him as gay. "The heck Lourde. I don't date people with balls," Lourde is yet to be 20, while Leon is 22. Just like Damon, they haven't had found their mate yet. The rumors have fled elsewhere, and they're known as the cursed pack. At 18, every male wolf should've found their mate like the ordinary ones, but they haven't, which is somewhat alarming. "What's wrong with people with balls? there's nothing wrong with it," "Yuck, Lourde, so you like people with balls?" The heck with these two, what kind of topic is that--- balls? "Damn you, Leon. I just said there's nothing wrong with people who have balls because even I...have. Yet, never have I said I would like them," Lourde replied while throwing the metal ball to Leon, which he missed. "Just admit it, Lourde. Perhaps, you have some hidden admiration for me," Leon's mockery laugh reverberates the place, which angers Lourde more. "Can you stop the two? Look, they're fighting," Dame jit at the sudden mind link. His heart beats faster. His forehead begins to sweat. His whole body shivers in thrilled and excitement. He looks back at where Leon and Lourde are bickering. The two did not only bickers but are now fighting as well. Childish! "Are you not going to stop Lourde and Leon? Want me to give some rewards?" Dame spoke in a cold tone while proceeding to the whipping board. Damon picks the heaviest whip, which is covered with thorns. This is what they usually use in dealing with their enemies. Leon and Lourde laugh awkwardly upon seeing the expressionless Dame. They are much aware of what reward is. In Damon's dictionary, rewards mean punishment. It certainly doesn't sound fierce to someone, but it does to them. "I have something to do. I'll be back later," Leon utters while storming out the place. Coward! "How about you. Don't you have something else to do?" "I apologize for that behavior, Dame," Lourde replied using a whisper-like voice. "Thanks for doing what I say. Goodbye, Dame," "Wait..." Damon couldn't continue what he was about to say since his mate had cut out the mind link again. "Dame? You're spacing out," Lourde spoke, waving his hand in his face. Damon regains his sense and returns back to his seat. 'My mate, are you going to hunger me that even bread and butter can't suffice it. Are you going to thirst me that even water can't satisfy me? Til' when should I wait. Til' when can I see you?' "You doesn't look, fine Dame. What's the matter?" "Just worried about the commencement day, it will be like 15 days from now, and I haven't found her yet," "I feel you. I'm kinda bit pressured with my father. If my mate wouldn't show up, he will forcibly let me have Katarina as my mate," Katarina is Laya's sister, the most demanding and superior she-wolf in the pack. She is the head warrior, the feared one. "Katarina is fine," Damon commented. "So, Laya is fine too," Lourde retorted back, not wanting to lose the dispute. "Nah, I'd rather be unmated than have her as my mate," Damon just can't imagine having someone who isn't his mate. He thinks that the love they'll have is not pure and unconditional, unlike if it's his mate. "So does I, Dame. A fire can't be mixed with a fire, or it will only burn as down." After such a conversation, the place is like being passed by an angel. Both of them fell into deep silence. Damon returns his gaze to the warriors. Everyone looks drained and weary. He glanced back to his Rolex wristwatch and saw that it was past 2 pm and the soldier hadn't taken their lunch yet. Although, ruthless-- Damon also has a heart. "BREAK TIME!" A loud cheer echoed in the training ground. Everyone was happy with the announcement. This is one of the reasons why Damon needs to be present in every training, or else the newbie warriors would starve to death. Even though these warriors have a werewolf strength, just like humans, they too can feel exhaustion and hunger. A good leader does not make his pack member suffers. That is one of the beliefs Damon would practice once he is the Alpha of the Silverling pack. Unlike his father, his ruthlessness has a proper place. "Lourde, wanna come with me?" Damon asked as he rose from his seat. "Where to, Dame?" Lourde replied while wearing his coat which was hung on the coat hook in the wall. "Kitchen." They stepped out in the training ground together. Damon saw Leon talking to Laya outside. Both are laughing about something. "Look at Leon. He keeps pushing you to Laya, but it seems like he got some real deal with the gamma's daughter," Lourde noted while shaking his head in disbelief. Damon doesn't mind Lourde's word. "Lourde, is it possible to have a mind link even if you're not mated yet?" "I bet not, Dame. The mind link can only be activated once you claim your mate, or perhaps that is what I believe. You can ask your mother regarding that matter because I assume she knows better than me," "What's with that random question? Have your mate spoken to you via mind link?" Lourde added, which Damon nodded his head in response. "I was alone in the Blue Lagoon when it happened. I thought I was just dreaming, but it happened again a while ago when you're fighting with Leon," "Oh, is that why you spaced out?" "Apparently, yes." They've reached the kitchen. Yet, Damon's question in mind is still unsettled.
