Aaron found he was staring at Janelle’s smile. Again. From the moment the wedding had started, he’d been captivated by that smile. Or her laugh. There was just so much joy in her. He wouldn’t claim that she was the reason he’d come, but he could say that she was the reason he was glad he had.
Mrs. Anakalea—who had quickly insisted he call her Yuki—had grabbed him as soon as the ceremony was over, and he’d escorted her to a table where they were joined by Cal and Jin, who introduced themselves and told him all about the bachelorette party, and pulled out their phones to show pictures. His favorite was one of the three best friends, arms around each other, feather boas about their shoulders, brightly colored loose feathers flying around their faces as they all laughed.
