From what I knew growing up my parents always loved each other from what I could see anyway.
My mom would tell me my favorite story of how she and my dad got together. She said they bumped into each other one night when it was a really bad snowstorm.
She got caught in the middle of the storm trying to drive back home but she got stuck in town.
She said her car was sliding on the road and she lost control and hit the side of the road but luckily there wasn't any damage.
A man approaches her car trying to help her out. That man was my father, he worked at a local bar. He was also trying to get home when he saw Mom crash.
After he saved her, he took her to a diner nearby to calm down and relax her nerves. He tried keeping her calm until the storm cleared up which wasn't until the following morning. They talked all night getting to know one another.
Finally, the snow plow came to clear the streets, so my mom was able to call the tow truck.
My dad offered to buy my mom breakfast so she could enjoy a warm meal until her tow came. When the tow finally pulled up my mom thanked my dad for everything and left.
They both forgot to exchange numbers but my mom's favorite saying "If it was meant to be" and they would meet each other again. Days passed and Mom got busy with finals, she was just a sophomore in college.
She was hoping they would bump into each other again, she was starting to miss me
My dad worked at the bar at night and went to college during the day. He would walk the same path every night where he first saw my mom hoping to meet again.
Weeks went by and the weather got warmer and the town was getting ready for the town festival.
This festival was full of music, food, games and a lot of people. Everyone was excited to go and my mom thought this would be the day she would see my dad.
The day of the festival she made sure she looked her best, once she was ready to go she dragged her best friend and headed into town.
Once my mom parked her car and opened the driver's side door, standing there was my dad with his hand out to assist her in getting out of the car. Ever since that day, they've never been apart.
