2. The gang is back

It was still kind of early so the cafeteria wasn't stuffed like it usually is during dinner, but we didn't mind, at least we could spend more time ogling new students. We took our food from the buffet and sat in our usual spot in the back, from which we could see everyone in this enormous room.

Mattie was once in the while pointing at some guy making sounds like a kitten in heat. We should seriously think of some pills for her propensities, before she ends up knocked up not by her Mate. Damn white wolves.

"Oh, oh, look who it is." - she started happily jumping in her seat tilting her head to the entrance. And surely there he stood, my Cuz Vigo, glancing lazily around the room. When his eyes landed on us he smirked and started coming our way.

The two of us could easily pass as siblings, we both have strong Cargaroughs genes in us. We have honey blonde hair and sun kissed skin. The only difference is our eyes, Vigo has green ones after aunty Chloe and mine are icy blue after my Dad. Vigo is as ripped as uncle Vince, but to me he has a better personality. He's much more easygoing and less stiff.

Then I noticed another familiar face next to him. Guess, our family is taking over the Lycademy this year.

"Look who's he with." - I said pointing to the brown haired guy next to him.

"Is this…"

"Yup, Gus. He must be a freshman just like Freddy." - I confirmed her suspicions.

"Mrau, good job growing up."

"Oh My Goddess! Mattie, stop acting like a nympho. He's OUR cousin, remember?!" - I scolded her.

"Third cousin in my case." - she pointed out, like it was making any difference. Truth be told we aren't sure how exactly they are related, but Rachel - Mattie's Mom - claims she and Jerry - My Dad's cousin - are relatives through his mother, so we all believed her, I personally think it's great that our families are linked with blood ties, no matter how distant, that makes our alliance even more unbreakable.

In the meantime when Mattie was getting excited over the boys, they already reached our table.

"Evening Ladies." - Vigo greeted us with a half a smile playing on his lips - "Mattie, you remember my Beta, Augustus Morgan?"

"Sure, sure, how could I forget." - she sended Gus a megawatt smile - "What's new Gus?" - he chuckled in response to her advances.

"You haven't changed a bit, Matilda." - Gus said and hugged her. Then his face got a bit more serious - "But it wasn't the best lately, I think Dad will be paying a visit to your Mom soon."

"Why, is auntie Gabi not well again?" - Mattie dropped her playful act and matched his expression.

"I'm afraid so. Mom hasn't changed into her wolf in months, but Alpha Chloe says it's not her wolf's problem but her human body is too weak." - he said full of worry. Gus and his Mom are really close, well actually everyone who came across auntie Gabi immediately becomes a huge fan of hers, something about this tiny Omega pulls other wolves to her. Besides, she makes absolutely the best cinnamon rolls.

"I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm sure Mom would help her." - Mattie said firmly.

"I hope so. But anyways, what's new with you two? I suppose it's a miracle that you haven't get into troubles yet." - Gus joked and Vigo joined him in knowing chuckle. Yeah, our duet doesn't have the best reputation, but hey, all Alpha pups are hyperactive.

"They haven't because I just got here!" - boomed the loud baritone from behind us, and just in time we turned to the newcomer both Mattie and I were trapped in a tight hug and swirled around like two ragdols.

"Put us down, Ossy!" - we shouted in unison and surprisingly Osprey listened. He then shared some strange man hug with Vigo and Gus and the five of us sat down.

"Have you grown even more, Os?" - I asked looking over at my friend. His purple eyes lit up with amusement at that comment, and he absentmindedly brushed his black hair from his face.

"Taking such interest in me, Val? Am I your Mate?" - he teased me, wagging his brows. I rolled my eyes, but even though I couldn't hold giggle that escaped my lips. If that guy was half as smart as he is tall ne would be an Elder before he turned 18.

"I think I would have known that by now, don't you think?"

"Maybe you want to surprise me on my birthday." - he said showing a fork into his mouth and licking it clean, trying to act seductively, to which I responded with hurling sounds. - "I know you love me."

"That I do, but strictly platonic, like my younger, very stupid brother." - I smirked. - "But anyways, what's new aside from raging hormones?"

"Raging hormones?! You should have seen Kite over summer, when she went through her first shift." - he said shaking his head.

"First shift? So she's 12?" - asked Gus looking like he was counting and something wasn't summing up.

"No, she's 15, she's just a late bloomer, but her magical powers manifested when she was 5."

"So what's her wolf like?" - Mattie asked.

Ossy looked like deer caught in the headlights.

"Oh sorry, Dad used his Alpha command so I wouldn't tell. But she's awesome!" - Osprey said as much as he could.

"I can't believe auntie Nim let him use an alpha command on you." - I said in disbelief.

"Actually…" - Ossy said scratching the back of his neck - "That was kinda Mom's idea. She had a few visions showing me as a blubbermouth, so she wouldn't take any risks." - that was all Ossy, he has an golden heart, but he's the worst with keeping secrets, but that actually made me even more curious about Kite's wolf, but I won't be getting anything out of Os, at least not until he takes over from uncle Falco.

"Where's the rest, I was expecting to see Freddy or Lady and the Tramp at least." - Vigo smoothly changed the subject.

"Lady and the Tramp?" - I asked raising my brow.

"Lictorn and Moyez." - Vigo clarified.

"You're just jealous, Cuz. They are adorable and you know it."

"Wasn't it you who started calling them Algae Eaters, Mr and Mrs Hulk, Beavis and Butt-Cute or my personal favorite Shrek and Donkey." - Vigo smugly pointed out and I felt my cheeks started blushing from embarrassment.

"Alright, alright… I may have been a bit jealous myself, but that doesn't change the fact they are my Beta Couple. Besides, Izzi has a hard life as it is, auntie Nina didn't fall for her charm." - I started defending myself.

"Latina mother-in-law doesn't like her daughter-in-law, wow I'm shocked." - Ossy snorted making us all burst into laughter once again.

"What's so funny?" - asked feminine voice stopping us, and you know what they say speak of the devil and he shall appear.

"Izzi, Rico, you are finally here." - I greeted them and gave each a tight hug.

"Yeah, we're here. Dad wouldn't let us go, so we are a bit late." - she said brushing her chestnut hair to the back, looking kind of tired. She and Rico spent last two weeks of summer in Fang's Pride Pack where Izabel's family is from. She just like Rico is from Beta bloodline, even though her Dad being the eldest wasn't performing this function. I also heard there was some history between her family and my uncle Vic, but he gets extremely sad whenever that is being brought up, so I never pry him about it. After all, I haven't become his favorite girl by making him upset.

"Wouldn't let us go is an understatement, he suggested we stay for one more week." - mumbled Rico, gaining a swat on the arm from his Mate.

"Be nice, they just missed us, besides if I have to endure with your Mother, you don't get to grumble about my folks. Understood?" - she said putting her hands on her hips.

"Yes Dear." - answered Rico looking down.

Osprey chose this moment to made whipping sound and we all started laughing again. Goddess, how I've missed them all! I much rather be here than back at home, where everything revolves around trainings, paperwork and duties, here I can really be just a 19 year old Girl I am, not a future Alpha without a Mate.

I suddenly felt a hand on my left forearm and when I looked that way I've noticed Mattie holding me, but looking somewhere through the crowd.

"What's going on Mattie? Have you targeted your another conquest?" - I sneered, taking another spoonful into my mouth.

"I've targeted my last conquest, Bitch." - she said still not taking her eyes off of someone.

I followed her eyesight and I was really hard trying to spot the guy she was ogling. Just then few students spread out and I saw a tall, well build Cutie with a long, sandy hair going all the way to his mid back. I would totally shave him, but Mattie may be into it.

"That Surfer, huh? He's cute, congratulations." - I whispered to her so that the rest wouldn't hear us.

"What?! No, not him, the one he is with." - she said suddenly pulled from her trance. I looked once again at that guy and just then I've noticed, who he's with.

"Nooo!" - I whispered-yelled.

"Yes! We are going to be sisters!" - she beamed at me with joy, confirming my worst nightmare, that Mattie's Mate is in fact my baby brother Freddy.

Goddess, have mercy on him.
