Blaire and I were getting along great! We decided to eat some ice cream while we got to know each other. We asked each other the most random questions and had a lot of fun. She was such a sweet person; I was so glad she won the contest.
Out of nowhere, we heard a loud thud coming from Noah’s room. We decided to investigate, but to no avail. Both Noah’s bedroom and balcony doors were locked. While no other disturbances came from Noah’s room that night, I couldn’t help but worry. I hoped everything was okay.
The next morning, Blaire and I woke up surprisingly early. We were in the kitchen before anyone else. I went to make myself my daily coffee, but was interrupted by someone else entering the kitchen. I turned to see Noah. She had a bruise on her left cheek.
“Noah!” I hurried over to her, “What happened? Are you okay?”
“Charlie, it’s okay, I fell out of bed last night,” she said quickly.
“Does it hurt? Let me get you some ice.”
“It’s fine, don’t worry about it.”
“Just in case,” I felt the overwhelming need to take care of her, so I did without questioning it.
Maia joined us in the kitchen. Blaire, seeing neither of her sisters down with us decided to go look for them. According to Maia, Azalea was with Melody, who had a terrible stomach ache. I noticed Noah flush at the news. I knew there was more to the story than she was letting on, but I decided to ask her about it when we were alone.
When everyone was out of bed and ready to go, we went to the recording studio. Recording songs was actually a lot of fun! We recorded our first song out of five. This song was an upbeat song about having a good time; it was Jordan’s pick. All ten of us had a solo. Seeing as my solo as short, I spent most of my time hanging out with Blaire, Melody, and Azalea. Rudy popped out of the recording booth whenever he could to see me. Surprisingly, Hakim and Gavyn did the same.
For dinner, we went over to our favourite restaurant so far. I sat next to Noah, with Rudy in front of me. He kept trying to make advances, like putting his hand on my knee and playing footsie with me, but I was too preoccupied with Noah to respond. She seemed absent minded. I wanted to know what was wrong, so I had her come with me to the bathroom.
“What’s wrong?” I questioned her as soon as we were alone.
“Nothing.”
“Noah,” I pleaded.
“I did it,” she sighed.
“You did what?” I was incredibly confused.
“I threw a shoe at Melody’s stomach, but she threw a shoe at my face first, but I started throwing clothes first, but I feel really bad I didn’t want to hurt her,” she rambled.
“Slow down. Why were you throwing clothes at each other?”
“Melody’s jealous that I’m with Gavyn, but I guess I’m jealous too because I know she could have him if she wants.”
Before I could say anything to comfort her, Amber walked in the bathroom, letting us know everyone was getting ready to leave. I was secretly relieved. I had no idea what to say to Noah that was both genuine and helpful. Why was it so difficult for me to be genuinely happy for Noah when it came to Gavyn?
I shook my thoughts away as we headed back to the mansion. It was getting late, so Blaire and I headed to our room. We continued our stream of questions for each other.
"So tell me, do you have a boyfriend?" I asked her out of the blue.
"Actually, I'm gay, so no boyfriend for me," she replied with a nervous laugh.
"That's cool. Any girlfriends in your life then?”
“Unfortunately not, but maybe one day,” Blaire seemed physically relieved at my response.
"How did you know when you had a crush on a girl?" I was genuinely curious.
"You feel so special," she started with a grin, "You feel like you belong with that person. You feel like that person is just meant to be in your life, and fits into it seamlessly. When it first happened to me, I was confused because it was a girl, but I soon realized that gender doesn't matter. If you feel like you love someone, it shouldn't matter what their gender is, or what religion they practice, or their race, or whatever. Love is love no matter who it's with."
Knocking came from the door then. I quickly went to answer it, to find Rudy. I smiled at him, but it felt forced. He wished me goodnight and gave me a kiss on the forehead.
“Let’s head to bed, Blaire. I’m really tired,” I lied.
I couldn't get any sleep. I was busy with a huge thought in my mind, inspired by what Blaire had told me.
