Snow's p.o.v
Ever since that dream, I never dreamt about him again, the past one year was pure sadness to me, I cried and longed for him, Crystal saw how sad I was, she tried cheering me up, sadly it was never the same, Rin had now grown into a medium dragon I had never expected, he became huge and taller, about 71.1 inches, we were best of friends, I took him almost everyday in the woods for a walk, I knew no one could see him, I ate together with him and slept with him in my arms everyday though it was mostly impossible, it's more like he covered me with his wing, he became a huge part of me, I really loved him, he was family, not a pet.
I sat outside looking at Rin who was flying around happily, he recently learnt how to fly and breath fire like a volcano, he was so helpful in terms of helping us catch fish.
I stood up quickly when I heard a loud rumble roar, which I was so sure came from a very big dragon, Rin flew and landed next to me, I was afraid someone might have seen him.
"Rin go in the house now," I said looking at him in fear.
He flapped his wings twice, which I taught him as no.
"Please" I begged.
He flapped his wings once then flew in.
Crystal came out worried.
"What's the matter? Rin flew in and forced me to come outside, it's like he wants me to see what...
Crystal's words were cut short when a large big dragon landed near us, we covered our faces avoiding the dust that rose.
"Shou..ld we run?" Crystal asked while coughing.
I looked at duke Edward who stepped down from the dragon's back with a smile, he was accompanied by two strange-looking men, who were both covered in cloaks, their body and mouths were hidden under the clothes they had on, it sadly reminded me of him.
"Welcome duke Edward" Crystal bowed lowly.
I bowed and stood upright.
"I'm here to take you for a ride, my future bride," he said proudly.
I looked at the man annoyed, what was he? Stupid? The past one year I had been turning him down, my heart already belonged to another, Crystal pinched my hand.
"I'm sorry my lord, forgive me for turning your offer down" I answered.
"Snow, the lord came all the way, you can't just refuse him" Crystal whispered.
"Why are you turning me down? Is it because of the little dragon you stole?" He asked as Crystal gasped.
My heartbeat wildly in fear.
"I have no idea what my lord is saying, I have only seen one dragon in all my life, and that is the one you ride my lord, what of you sister?" I asked looking at Crystal pleadingly.
"Me too, my lord you must be mistaken about us, what on earth has given you such an idea? Snow fears such things as dragons, I can't imagine her being near any of them" she said smiling gently.
"Then you won't mind if my men search around, will you? They are mostly skilled in hunting dragons" he said seriously.
I looked at Crystal and she looked at me.
"My lord, how about I ride with you in place of snow?" She asked in a flirtatious voice.
Duke Edward smiled looking at my sister hungrily with desire.
"Of course dear," he answered happily.
"Lord the task at hand," the two men said together, their voice sounding the same, they scared me.
"Boys let it go for today, tomorrow we will be back, right now the lady needs my attention," he said clearing his throat.
"Yes," they answered in unison.
I swallowed hard, I hated that crystal was going with the old pig after what we went through last year, but I knew it was the only way to save Rin.
I watched the duke help Crystal get on the dragon with the two men.
"Snow dear, while I'm away, do think about me," he said as I bowed lowly.
He too got on and it took off.
I quickly went into the house and found Rin at the bedroom door entrance.
I knelt down weakly, I knew what I had to do.
"Rin, I'm so sorry but you can no longer stay with me" I whispered sadly.
he moved closer and pushed me lightly with his head making small noises, I couldn't help the forming tears I had in my eyes.
"I can't keep you, that man, duke Edward is not a good man, his capable of hurting both me and you, I beg you to leave, go somewhere safe, find a new family and live happily, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you" I cried as I touched his feet.
"I promise to never ever forget you, I hope you will never forget me too, I really love you a lot, please understand I'm doing this for your safety" I cried.
I pulled back and stood up, I went and opened the back door.
"Go and never come back, I know you can understand me, so go," I said loudly.
My hands trembled while pointing at the Forest that was ahead.
He flapped his wings and stamped the ground while making sad noises.
"Please don't make this harder than it already is please, I lost him, it was painful but I survived, even if I lose you I will survive, but if you stay with me, they will kill you" I yelled.
He moved closer.
"Go! If I'm your master or friend you will listen to me go!" I screamed with tears rolling on my cheeks.
He moved away from me and flew outside, he turned and looked at me.
"I love you" I whispered as he flew away.
I fell to the ground weakly crying my eyes out.
I was weak then and now, I thought I couldn't hurt losing someone now but I was wrong, right now I was hurting a lot.
Rin was my family, Rin was part of my memories and happiness.
"Snow" Crystal called while running towards me, she knelt in front of me.
"What's wrong? Did someone hurt you? But it can't be the Lord, right? Lord Edward dropped me off near the market he had some urgent matters to attend to, did he come here? Tell me please I'm worried" she said, I hugged her and cried loudly.
"I sent Rin away, he's all alone and he's obviously scared in the Forest. Crystal I'm a horrible person, I'm sure he hates me" I sobbed.
"Snow you aren't, you did all this for his safety, we both know that duke Edward will be back soon, and if he did find Rin, he would have killed him or sold him elsewhere, what you did was all for him, I too loved him and I'm sure he knows that, so instead of crying, be happy, you saved his life," she said lowly.
"I hope he survives the dangers of our land" I whispered as I sobbed.
