Sebastian
'Hey, Sebastian. Nice to see you again. Welcome to my pack.' Darius greets me in front of his pack house. This year's Alphas Ball is taking place at the Howling Wolf Pack. That's where Alexis has been staying for the past year. I know everything about her progress because I talk regularly with Darius. He was skeptical at first about whether he could keep updating me about her, even though he knew she was my mate, but when Kieran didn't object, he surrendered. I have no idea what Kieran thinks about everything that happened between me and Alexis. We never discussed the topic again. I think he's giving us time to solve it ourselves. I know Alexis is doing better now. She's stronger than a year ago. Darius sent me photos and videos several times. They were all from her training, and I was astonished at how great she was, even without her wolf. I can't wait to see her again. I didn't reach out to her this whole time, which was pure torture. I thought about coming here several times, but every time Axel stopped me. Not because he didn't want me in his sister's life, but because he persuaded me to give her time to heal from everything that happened to her. It looks like Axel is giving me a chance, which I'm grateful for. It's the first step. Alexis and Axel talk regularly on the phone, and he visited her several times. He also talks to Damian every Sunday when Damian is driving back to the Royal Pack for the Alphas' training, always asking about Alexis. Axel needs to be sure she is really okay. And he tells me everything about her. Okay, maybe not everything, but I know ALMOST everything she was doing and what she experienced during her stay in the Howling Wolf Pack. I can't wait to see her in person, though. My wolf craves her and is giving me hell. Sensing my desire to see my mate, Darius waves his hand to encourage me to follow him and starts walking in the direction of the indoor training ground. The Howling Wolf Pack has the most spacious gym I've ever seen. And the best equipped one. I dismiss my warriors, so they can settle down. When we enter the training facility, I see Alexis fighting with three warriors at the same time. They are faster and stronger than she is and when I see one of them punching her, I want to tear that guy into pieces. Darius holds me back, and I see from the corner of my eyes Damian balling his fists, probably trying not to kill the guy. Alexis just spit the blood and grabs a knife from a holder on her leg. With one swift movement, the blade collides with the guy's chest, leaving him wounded. 'Regular knife so she doesn't cripple them. She is f*cking awesome with knives and swords.' Darius says to me. I see Alexis grabbing another knife and spinning and kicking, throwing punches and slicing the warriors with her knives. She's like a tornado, leaving chaos behind her. I can't stop staring at her. Her hair is shorter than before, in a messy bun on top of her head. She's wearing a sports bra and leggings. I can see every curve of her perfect body, and it's sending all my blood south. She's thinner than she was half a year ago when she came to my pack, but Goddess, those curves are still on her body. I need to stop staring. I don't want to sport a hard-on in public. Unfortunately, I can't stop myself from admiring her. Even bathed in sweat, she's the most beautiful sight for my eyes. I longed for her the whole time. My wolf is purring like a cat in my head at the sight of his mate. He accepted that we needed to take things slowly and not rush to her and claim her. 'Where's she?' My train of thought is interrupted by Kieran. I see him coming to us, accompanied by Amber, Axel and Freya, who is having a baby bump, and several of his warriors. Darius points his finger in Alexis's direction and the whole entourage stops near Darius and me, looking at the fight. 'That's my girl! F*cking awesome, like her Dad.' Kieran says with pride. Amber glares at him, mouthing 'language'. He pecks her lips and smiles at her. 'Still no signs of her wolf?' Kieran asks Darius, and Darius shakes his head in a negative response. The fight stops. The guys are on the ground and Alexis is holding her knees, panting heavily. Darius's Gamma approaches her, pats her on the back and says something to the group of warriors. Damian and his Beta straighten and a warrior shifts into his wolf, charging at Alexis. I'm ready to shift too and so is Kieran. Darius puts his hands on our chests to stop us. 'Don't, it's not her first time fighting a wolf. Besides, Damian and Gavin are ready to intervene if the situation escalates. The same goes with my Gamma, Tommy. It's a technique we try only when more than one of the higher-ranked men is there. Also, the wolves are carefully selected, so there will be no harm to Alexis. She gave us the idea to train warriors in their human forms without their wolf's abilities against a fully shifted warrior. Never knows when it comes in handy.' Darius explains. I see Kieran relaxing. Alexis stands her ground against the wolf, never leaving herself vulnerable to his attack. She's awesome. 'You can see for yourself if Alexis's protection is enough. Send one of your warriors in his wolf form in her direction.' Darius suggests. Kieran points his finger at one of his warriors. I know him, it's that sh*tface Nathan. Oh hell, now I sound like Damian. Nathan takes off his clothes and shifts. He starts running in the direction of the fight and I can see Damian registering the incoming threat. He shifts within a second, tearing his clothes into shreds, and so does his Beta, Gavin. The wolf that was fighting with Alexis is now standing in front of her, ready to protect her. All other warriors are either ready to shift or are standing in a fighting stance, creating a barrier between the potential threat and Alexis. They are all ready to protect her. I'm impressed. Damian is slowly walking in the direction of the incoming threat. When Alexis registers the running wolf, she looks at Damian and grabs a handful of his fur. 'It's Nate! Back off, Damian!' All the warriors visibly relax after hearing her words, but Damian isn't ready to back off from the fight. I bet Damian wants to have a round or two with Nathan. 'Bad wolf!' Alexis smacks Damian on his snout. He looks at her and then licks her face. 'Bad wolves don't get a kiss.' Alexis smacks him again. Damian is still licking her while Alexis is trying to show him off of her. All the warriors are laughing at their antics. I can't help but chuckle, surprising myself. I don't think of Damian as a threat to me. I know she hasn't been intimate with anybody since she left my pack, because I didn't feel any pain. And that leaves me with the conviction that nothing is going on between the two of them. When Damian shifts back, they laugh so much that tears are streaming down their cheeks. Nate hugs Alexis from behind, eliciting a yell from her and a growl from Damian. 'You should thank him, you know. He drove every man away from her. Nobody dared to touch her.' Darius tells me, pointing his finger at Damian.
