Chapter 1. Scarlett crush

1522 Words
Scarlett's POV . "Ugh, what an ugly creature, shoo!" Irene's voice resonated while giving me a nasty look. But I'm not like any other girl that she can belittle. I glared at her at the same pace and she slowly stepped backwards. "See that? Look at her eyes! She's definitely a wicked witch!" she shouted at me, pointing her finger. "How many times do I have to tell you, Scarlett? You are not allowed in this part," Karla said in the corner. I ignored them and my eyes darted back onto the red team, on the centre stage. The game will start shortly and everyone's eyes are on them. I got here first and got right on the spot and then Irene with her friends came after. They want me to move away because, according to them, I'm not allowed here. Like any other girl, I want to watch the game too. The basketball court is for everyone and there was no name written on this chair that exclusively belonged to Irene. The hell, I care! "Move away, Scarlett!" Irene pushed me and my body drifted around the corner. I nearly fell but luckily, the next person who was beside me caught me. "Are you okay?" she said calmly. It was Betty. She's a dear friend of mine and I like her. She's shy, timid and goes along well with everyone. But she goes along with Irene's team, and the girls only want her for one reason, to make Betty do their errands and needs. I really hate them for that because Betty doesn't deserve that type of treatment. "Thank you," I smiled and nodded gently at Betty. "Serves her right!" Karla's brows lifted. They're having a good time laughing at me. I fixed myself and Betty helped me. Instead of moving away from them, Irene and the girls moved away from me. I know where I stand and I can fight for what is right. Bullies like them are common in my daily life. I have encountered them almost every day on campus. I can easily ignore them, but most of the time I fight back. "Oh, you've got dirt on your shoes, Scar," Betty added while staring at my white runners. "It's okay. Not a big deal," I shrugged my shoulders and smiled at her. "Hey, Betty. Hurry up! Do you want me to shove your face together with that ugly witch!" Irene shouted at her. Betty stood up in a hurry and grabbed all the things that she put in the corner. I was right, they only used Betty for one bad reason, to do errands and they treated her like not a friend at all. Bitches! I swore behind my mind while watching them walking away from me. . I have no close friends because they think I'm weird and my family is weird. Just because I wear a unique style in dull colours of black, grey and white, they think I'm weird? Or maybe because our house is like the house of the Adams family, where they can spot it from the top of the mountains surrounded by thick woods with a creepy look. The hell I care! We own the entire mountain and farm. Of course, we don't have a neighbour close by because my father runs the entire farm business up to the hill and down the valley. The entire town is talking behind us, that Mom died because of a curse. Mom died when I was young. Mom was very beautiful and her beauty was like the goddess of love, Venus. According to Papa, she had the most wondrous beauty of all the women in his life and was so lucky to have her as his wife. Papa never re-married and was not interested anymore. For him, having a mom was more than enough for his lifetime. . The referee whistled and the game started. My heart pounded and my smile widened when I saw the man who captured my heart blindly. I stood up straight away and couldn't get enough of the view. And there he is, charmingly combing the strands of his hair using his hand while facing his opponent. The sturdy solid frame of his body and the smile on his face were dropping all the garter of my underwear. How come a handsome living species like him is for real? Yes, he's for real, the unbreakable heartthrob in town and the most charming amongst the boys. . . Wade Terrance Porter. . "Excuse me, Miss. You're blocking my view. Can you move away!" a voice from behind. But the noise from the crowd deafened my senses and I ignored them. I jumped up in the excitement and I couldn't hide my smile at all, especially when Wade shot the ball perfectly into the net. "Go, Wade! Gosh, I love it!" I exclaimed. Then all the girls stood up and jumped with excitement too. I could no longer see Wade as their heads covered my view. I jump up and all that I can see is the same view. Their effing heads! When I heard the crowd's noise and the girls cheering for Wade's name, I came running down onto the steps closer where I could see Wade clearly. "Three points to Xander!" The referee's hand signalled and I jumped up again. I could no longer hide my smile when I saw him looking in the direction where I was in. "Go, Wade! I love you!" The girls behind me shouted. Like me, they're crazy too and when Wade waves in my direction, the girls around me were screaming and they were all going crazy for him. Everyone screamed and my heart screamed for joy too. It seems like those lovely smiles he gave earlier was meant for me. Well, I will assume that and I don't care. I love the way he is. I love it when he does his moves and, most perfectly, he's the MVP of the team on campus. "Go, Wade, my loves! Go, babe!" I shouted when everyone stopped shouting. The girls around me looked at me with their tiger looks. Aha! Who cares! For my one and only Wade, I'm his number one love and supporter. The score came up and it's a tie and that's the final quarter now. Everyone shouted for defence and I held back my breath as my heart pounded so hard inside me. This is the most crucial minute of the game, which makes the first team make the score will obviously win. Closing my hands together, I offer a silent prayer, hoping that my Wade will shoot the ball and save the team. When the ball passed onto him my world stopped spinning and. . .yes! . "Three points!" Someone shouted, and I shouted for victory too. "Oh my god! We won! We won!" I screamed and jumped like a crazy bunny while staring at him. . The girls came flying toward the team and they all hugged each member and congratulated them. I stood standing and silently watching him from this far. I saw Irene and the girls around Wade and they were all smiling, while Irene? Heck, there she was wiping Wade's sweat using her white towel. What a sly b***h! My silent mind utter. Ugh, I really hate her! She gets most of the attention and she's like bubble gum to Wade. She stuck like a leech to him! I rolled my eyes while looking at them from far. Wade's smile is so sweet and melting and he's surrounded by girls who wanted to have his autograph and to have a picture with him. Wade politely smiles at them and accommodates their needs. I am still smiling while watching him. I want to be closer and to get his autograph and pictures but the heck, I can't seem to get close because of Irene. The whole time I plan to approach Wade, she's always present and I can't get into the scene. If she hates me, well, I hate her guts too! I looked around and the other team vanished on the spot and so was half of the crowd. I strode shyly and slowly towards Wade's team while fixing my hair. This time I will try if I can get Wade to sign the notebook that I've been holding for three months! Heck, yes, three months! Where I plastered all his pictures and everything with hearts and butterflies. My heart pounded as I strode closer towards them, but then. . . "Scarlett! Senorita!" My eyes widened when I heard Mr Jim. I paused for a moment and turned around, and there he was standing in the corner putting his hands on his hips. Oh god, what a timing it is! "Excuse me, Miss Scarlett. We-" I ran straightway as fast as I could before he could say anything in front of many. Everyone looked at me and I could even hear them gossiping. "Scarlett! Senorita, wait for me!" Mr Jim shouted and I wickedly smiled and ran fast away from him. . C. M. LOUDEN
