Chapter 2. Furious

1150 Words
Wade's POV . After winning the inter-school league, we decided to have a victory party in the mansion, in the ballroom area. The maids serve them food and the drinks are unlimited. Some of the girls are celebrating with the whole team and joining us for fun. The boys are having each of their partners for the night. Irene came here before but I wasn't interested. She's too clingy and I don't like that. If I began a relationship with her, I couldn't seem to be serious. I only liked one thing from them and getting involved with Irene was way too complicated. . "Wade, your dad called and he wants to talk to you later." I shifted my body to my grandmother. She's standing on the side of the open door of my bedroom. "Cool, Nanna," I nodded and continued combing my hair while staring at myself in the huge mirror. "Aren't you going to ring your mother, Wade? She's waiting for your call. It's been a month and you're avoiding your Mom, son." Nanna strode closer and sat down on the end of the bed while staring at me. I shrugged my shoulders and smiled at her. Every time I hear Mom's name, the longing for love from a mother comes creeping inside me. She promised me that I could visit her in New Zealand and that I could stay there for three months. But that was all a big lie and yes, promises are made to be broken, like how their marriage failed and broke them. I grew up with my grandparents care and love. Dad always comes and goes for business. Dad owns the biggest milling corporation here in the province with other businesses around the city too. I don't know the story of why Dad and Mom separated, but one thing is for sure, they don't love me anymore and just left me behind. . "Wade. . . " Nanna's rusty voice is a reminder that she's really old. "Nanna. . ." I sat down beside her and hugged her tight. "Talk to your mother, Wade. Just listen to her this time. . . I know it's hard for you, but I want you to know that she's doing her best to accommodate you." I shook my head and lifted my chin, staring at the empty ceiling before looking at my Nanna's eyes. "Nanna, just tell her that I'm fine." I stood up and grabbed my thick leather jacket and wore it. "You know me, Nanna, I am cool," I said in a desperate tone. Yes, I'm pretty cool as they think I am okay, but deep inside I want my fair share of time and love. Mom is always busy with her new family and I understand that. Dad is busy with his own things and business. Unlike Dad, Mom remarried and settled in New Zealand with my two step-sisters. Dad never married and just concentrated more on business. "I'll be out, Nanna." I kissed her straight away and grabbed the key to my Ducati. "Your dad will call you tonight, Wade," Nanna reminded me. "Yep, no worries!" I said, lifting my right arm in the thin air. . Hurriedly, I ran downstairs and went inside the ballroom area. As soon as Jason saw me, he turned the music off and the rest of the boys stood up straight away. While Kurt? He's still in the corner kissing Jessica. I shook my head and threw the ping-pong ball. It landed on his face. "Ouch!" He said and stood up. "What's up? Oh, are we going now?" "Let's go!" I said and the boys followed me. . It was nearly midnight when we arrived. We always do this once a month. I can throw a party for my friends whenever I want. Money and drink were not an issue, as long as dad was not around. I can do this and I'm the boss. We do car racing on our big motorbikes, and to do this safely we always go out in our farm field where we can go crazy along the way. "Are you sure it's going to be okay here, Wade?" Justin asked when we arrived. The boys are all in line with their own big boys' toys. I have my Ducati with me, a present from dad on my seventeenth birthday, and two of my personal rough road motorbikes which Clint and Jason use. I looked at the straight, deep and dark road of our sugarcane field. These massive hundreds of hectare plantations my dad owns and that leaves me the boss here, as I am my dad's only son. I squeezed the motorcycle clutch lever and gripped it harder, I accelerated it and off I went. I fly with no fear while driving at its maximum speed. My mind is pre-occupied with a lot of things. . . first, my parents, second, my academic needs and third, dad's request. Damn it! My eyes widened and my heart pounded like a flash when a white hare came crossing in front of me. I stepped hard on my brakes and the bike swung at a full three hundred and sixty degrees until it made a full stop. Bloody hell! I cursed in silence when I felt the weight of it on my right leg. Damn it! Then I heard my phone vibrating inside my pocket. I cursed again and tried to pull out my leg. Luckily, I was quick and that saved me. Justin stopped with his headlights on and came running towards me. "F*ck! You alright?" He helped me and pulled my body away from my motorbike. "I'm fine," I said with confidence and smirked at myself. Then the rest of the boys came. I just realized that I'd probably travelled too fast because the boys were way behind. "Damn, bro. You're running too fast, man!" Kirby shouted while running towards us. "s**t! Did you hurt yourself?" He looked at my right leg and checked it. "You're lucky, Wade. That was silly of you. You could have an accident." "Almost an accident," Clint added. "Shits scared the living daylight of me, man!" Kurt added and shook his head. I smirked and laughed a little bit, but my phone didn't stop vibrating so I fished it out in my pocket. It was dad, and I stood up straight away. Justin supported my back. I gave them a hand signal, telling them in sign language that dad was now in the line and they all went quiet. "Dad?" I started. "What the f*ck, Terrance! You're grounded! You and the boys get the hell out of there. Now!!" I moved my phone away from my ear as my dad's voice was like a reaper. Damn it, I swore silently and turned off the phone. I stared at them and shook my head. . C.M. LOUDEN
