Wade's POV
.
.
Everyone went quiet as we entered the room. Most of the girls are staring at us, at me, and I don't care because it's not new anymore. The attention I got every day at school was like this. Girls smile, melted while staring at me.
Yes, I'm a well-known playboy, I admit it and I kinda enjoyed it.
.
"Oh, have you heard that there's a new transferee?" Max said.
"Woah, who? Is it a girl or a boy? Would it be nice if it was a girl," Jason said jokingly.
.
I shook my head and put my hands inside my pockets. Whoever was the transferee I don't care as I have more worries to attend to and that includes my dad. I am grounded and I cannot use my Harley Davidson for a week and I cannot even drive my car. Mr Timbone, dad's personal driver, has to drop by and fetch me every day now. I hate it, but I have no option as of the moment. I don't want dad to cut my allowances, so I have to pretend to be a good boy for the week.
.
"I've heard it's Scarlett Wishart," Max said.
.
I paused for a moment when I heard her name. Face down, I shook my head. Damn it, Scarlett! I swore behind my mind.
.
"I think she followed you all the way here, Wade. What do you think?" Kirby chuckled and laughed.
"What? No way!" Jason complained. "Not Scarlett, bro!"
"Why? Do you like her?" Max asked.
"No. But I know her and she's beautiful. . . I-I do like her, she's cute and innocent. And I noticed she always cheers on us, on every basketball league we play," Jason said with hearty-shaped eyes. Looking stupid and silly while smiling.
"That's awful, bro!" Kirby laughs. "We all knew that Scarlett barracks for Wade, bro," he patted Jason's shoulder.
"Does she? Oh, I thought it was me," Jason shrugged his shoulders.
"But I admit it, she's beautiful, isn't she?" Kirby added.
"Oh well, yes, but very weird," Max added.
.
I pretended that I hadn't heard them and just walked away. The hell I care if she's here on this campus. I'm not interested. I get annoyed at her every time I see her. My blood rose to the boiling point every time our eyes met. I'm so sick of seeing her face.
.
I took a deep breath as we entered the room. Everyone went quiet. I looked at everyone's eyes and my heart jolted when I saw her beautiful smile. It's like I saw a ghost from my past and that flash like lightning and I didn't see it coming.
.
Damn it! Why the hell does she have to be in the same class as me?
.
I looked away, pretending that I did not recognize her. I sat down together with the boys and Max patted my shoulder with a stupid smile.
.
"She's in our class," he whispered.
.
I shook my head and pretended again. I never looked behind me and acted cool and normal. Then Irene stood up and walked closer towards us like she always does.
.
"Wade, we're having a party tonight with the girls at my place. It would be lovely if you and your team would join us."
.
She handed me a tiny invitation and I wrinkled my forehead while reading it. Then I remember I am grounded.
.
"I'll see how I go, Irene. I'm grounded," I smirked silently.
"We can sneak in and out, dude. I will fetch and drop you," Jason whispered.
"I don't know. I don't want dad to know. I might pass, Irene. Thank you," I said without a smile.
.
Irene's face frowns and Max laughs a bit. She was about to say more but Miss Sam, our English teacher, arrived and Irene went back to her seat and sat down. Everyone went quiet while Miss Sam looked at everyone of us with her terrified eyes. Her face lightened up, she was smiling at someone far behind.
.
"Scarlett?"
"Yes, Ma'am?"
.
Hearing Scarlett's voice sends a different sensation inside me. It's not like I like her, it really annoys me now that she's in the same class as me.
She was called and she stood up in front of us. She smiles and stares at us, at me. My brow lifted with a snob on my face but her smile grew wider for me.
.
"Please treat Scarlett nicely, class. I don't want bullies or any complaints, and that's the same for each and everyone of you. Understood?"
"Yes, Ma'am," everyone said, but not me.
.
Face down, I shook my head and smiled evilly. Well, it's not too bad anyway. It will be an interesting day starting today for me.
Scarlett then walked passed my side as she went back to her seat. I noticed the boys following her with their gaze.
.
"She smells great," Kirby silently said. He's sitting beside me. I smirked when I heard that.
Yeah, I can smell her scent too and it's annoying. That scent was still the same as before and I'm so sick of it.
"This is going to be fun. I like her," Max said.
.
I silently looked behind me and saw her chatting to Betty. Her wavy long jet black hair was actually beautiful. Her smile is always forbidden, her dimples are annoying, her pointy nose and hearty-shaped lips are - the f*ck! What am I thinking? I looked away and just shook my head.
Oh, hell damn it! I swore in silent.

Scarlett's POV
.
"Come on, don't be shy, Betty. It's my treat," I smiled while looking at the food on the counter displays.
"Uhm. . ." she shyly bow.
"Let's grab the same thing, okay?"
"O-Okay," she smiled and I nodded.
.
I ordered the same sets. Betty was too shy to tell me what she wanted. She's a very nice person and I found a sisterly feeling in her. Her parents are farmers in our rice field. Life is hard for Betty and I have witnessed it myself. She studies hard for her dreams. They have nothing and they are very poor.
.
"I will find a spot for us to sit down, Scarlett."
"Sure. I will pay this and I will follow."
.
The line is long and I am so hungry. I can probably eat a whole cow by now. Almost all of the tables were taken, but then Betty was so good. I saw her at the very end. She found a spot for us. I waved at her and she nodded in return.
When it was my turn to pay, the girl beside me silently screamed. I stared at her and her face turned red like a ripe tomato. Then I noticed the center of attraction, it was Wade. . .
.
No wonder almost all of the girls here melted while staring at him. I composed myself and smiled a bit. I tried to act normal but my heart beat faster and it deafened me. I paid for the food and slowly walked towards Betty. She's smiling at me.
.
"Wow! Thank you for the food, Scarlett. It looks delicious!"
"Let's eat," I said while putting the empty tray on the side of the table.
.
There were an extra two chairs in our spots. Betty seemed excited and started eating her food. I took a sip of my orange juice and looked around. I couldn't find Wade anymore. Maybe he had gone out already. Well, that's what I thought. I was wrong because he was walking towards our direction together with Jason and my heart skipped a beat.
.
"Can we join?" he casually asked, and sat down beside me, while Jason sat down beside Betty.
.
I cleared my throat and swallowed hard. Now all the girls here are staring at us. I can feel the tension inside me and my face heated. I know that I am reddish already. Betty shyly looked away and ate fast. Jason smiles at me and Wade, who's beside me, seems comfortable while eating his food.
.
"Hi Scarlett," Jason started and I smiled. He only says hello to me and not to Betty. He's a well-known playboy, like Wade. Hmp, what else do I expect?
.
It was awkward as the four of us were quiet. No one is stalking and just silently eating. I cannot even swallow my food and I feel nervous. My palms sweat and I'm probably sweating right now. Geez! Come on, Scarlett, stay calm. Betty finished her food in just two minutes and I'm not even half on mine.
.
"Hurry up, Scarlett. We're going to be late for our next subject," she said.
"Oh?"
.
I looked at the time on my wristwatch and she was right. We were a minute late already. It took us so long because of the long line and everything was hectic, plus I couldn't even move and eat my food properly because of Wade.
I hurriedly ate my food and I almost choked myself. Wade chuckled and laughed a bit.
.
"Slow down," he said while pointing a stare at the orange juice in front of me. I drank it straight away and I felt so much better. I think I had better stop and this is enough. If this quietness continues, it will totally drive me insane, and I will be there later. I stood up and Betty seemed surprised because I hadn't finished my food.
"It's okay. Let's go. We are late anyway."
.
I grabbed my bag and also the orange juice. I didn't look at Wade's face because I'm way too shy to do it. But Jason laughs, pointing a finger at the side of his lips like he's telling me that I have something on the side of my lips. I pouted at him and looked away.
.
"Wait for me, Scarlett!" Betty said while following me.
.
I wiped the side of my mouth and, yes, Jason was right. A smudge of ketchup it is. Oh gosh, that's embarrassing!
