DECLAN’S POV
The gunshot rang through the entire house and a nerve in my body shook. Suddenly, my feet couldn’t feel the ground anymore, it felt like I had just been run over by a truck and I was in midair, unprepared for a fatal landing. I crashed to the floor roughly and a groan escaped from my mouth. As I opened my eyes, I heard the thud of another body right next to me. I looked sideways sharply and my eyes widened with a mix of surprise and relief when I saw Claus lying next to me and groaning in pain.
