CHAPTER 126
DECLAN’S POV
I caught sight of a few shadows running outside the house through the windows. At first, I thought it was just the patrol guards but their movements were too quick, if I hadn’t been looking more intently, they would have escaped my eyes. I realized it was an attack when I heard the shrill cry of a man in the distance, although it was stifled, my sharp sense of hearing could still pick it out.
Raina’s face had gone white with fear when I looked at her again. Her darting eyes were wide and unsteady and her lips quivered, but she still possessed that striking beauty that hooked me for a few seconds. I gripped her shoulders and shook her slightly, she blinked and her eyes fell on me.
“What are we going to do?” She blurted out in an awkwardly loud manner.
