RAINA’S POV
Two weeks passed since that dreadful night and Ariah didn’t show up.
Every day was pure torture for me, I was living in fear. I flinched at the slightest noises and whenever I was with Declan, I struggled to conceal how nervous I was. I had a bad feeling that grew more intense, like a dark cloud that kept accumulating more gloominess over my head each morning I woke up. I tried desperately to convince myself that everything was going to be alright, Declan showed no signs of going after Ethel. I had a feeling he had pardoned him for my sake and Ethel certainly wasn’t going to tell Declan about my involvement in the plan, especially after he had betrayed me so brazenly.
