CHAPTER 60 RAINA'S POV It was difficult trying to fall asleep. I heard the carriage ride away and I just knew it had to be the both of them. I stared at the ceiling interminably and suddenly, thoughts that had eluded my mind for the past months or so started flooding into my head. I didn't want to think about that. I got off the bed and paced around the room, trying to shake off the thoughts, but they lingered. My dead parents, the images of their bloody, mauled and lifeless bodies flashed in my mind. The gruesome scene played back a horror movie I had long tried to forget. It felt like I was just being tormented at this point. Why wouldn't these thoughts just go away? Why this mental torture? “Why?” I roared out loud, clamping my head between my palms like it was about to explode. “P
