CHAPTER TWO

MATTHEW'S POV
Matthew's younger sister, Miya, had called him earlier to ask for help in picking up her six-year-old daughter, Riya, from school. She was caught up in a meeting and needed his assistance. Matthew arrived at the prestigious Royal Dream Academy, an elementary school that was one of his parents' investments. The bodyguard at the gate opened the door for him as he entered the school to find Riya.
He spotted his niece sitting beside the fountain, and as soon as she saw him, she ran towards him, calling out "Uncle Matthew." After exchanging greetings, Matthew asked Riya about her day at school, to which she replied that it was stressful as usual, eliciting a laugh from him.
As they made their way out of the school, Matthew noticed two children – a boy and a girl. The girl was crying while the boy tried to comfort her. Despite not having a soft spot for kids, Matthew felt drawn to them and decided to approach them.
Bending down to their level, he asked why they were there and why the girl was crying. The crying girl explained that their mother had forgotten their birthday and now had forgotten to pick them up from school.
Determined to help, Matthew inquired if they knew the direction to their house, to which they both nodded. He entrusted Riya to one of his bodyguards and then carried the crying girl while holding the boy's hand. Together, they made their way to the car and drove towards the address the children provided.
Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at a modest house. Matthew carried the girl while the boy walked beside him. As they approached the gate, a woman rushed out and collided with him.
Annoyed, Matthew exclaimed, "Excuse me," but the woman seemed preoccupied with the children in his arms, she grabbed them causing them all to burst into tears. After a few moments, she finally looked up in shock and uttered just one word – "Matthew."
Realization dawned on him as he wondered how she knew his name. Then it hit him – this was Lisa, the woman he had been searching for.
