I smiled in thanks at the two policemen who'd made sure I safely got home unharmed. Graham assured me they would be right outside in case I needed them before I went in and closed the door. Checking the time, I wasn't surprised to discover it was past midnight, two in the morning to be exact. It had been a hell of a night. I was extremely exhausted, with my muscles threatening to give out as soon as I saw my bed. It must be because of all that running and extra exercise. I probably looked just as shitty as I felt and wished for nothing more than a nice warm shower to cleanse away any trace of that creature left on me.
