Drake watched as Daisy kept her head down, knowing that her daughter's friend was frightened by his arrival. It seemed that the information he had gotten about Daisy and her family was not wrong, they came from a good family and had never dealt with anyone who had ever opposed him. Drake gave a thumbs up to his daughter's choice, it turned out that her instincts were really great, being able to judge people in just one meeting. Drake is increasingly proud of Kylie who seems to have really followed in his footsteps.
Kylie's father could also see that the woman beside Daisy touched the girl's arm, as if ordering her daughter's friend to speak immediately because Daisy had been silent.
Daisy lifted her head to look at her mom, and it was clear that her mom was asking Daisy to start a conversation between them.
The girl who had the good fortune to be friends with Kylie finally ventured to look at the much-feared Drake in their country.
"Excuse me, Mr. Drake. What brings you to see me?"
Daisy ventured to ask. The girl chose not to know the purpose of the man's visit to her house, even though she was pretty sure that Drake's visit was related to what he had told Kylie.
"I heard you're friends with my daughter, Kylie?" Drake asked.
It turns out that the man had been waiting for Daisy to strike up a conversation between them as he continued to watch and assess her and her parents.
"Yes, sir." Daisy replied while nodding her head. The girl's hands still continued to clasp each other tightly.
Drake nodded his head.
"I already know everything about your family," Drake said, which made Daisy's heart beat faster because the man said these words with a flat face.
The three people sitting in front of Drake could only swallow their saliva and hope that nothing happened to them, especially Daisy's father who was afraid that his wife and son and daughter would have a bad, tragic end at Drake's hands.
"I already know that your father works as an ordinary employee in one of the companies," Drake said again and then again stopped his speech while looking at Daisy and the girl's parents in turn.
Daisy nodded her head, knowing that Drake's purpose for coming here would be to insult her parents like Viola and her three friends often did. The girl was already prepared for it because she was used to it, but not for her parents who would certainly feel very sad.
"I've decided to put your father to work in one of Arson's branch companies, as the assistant financial manager there, according to Kylie's request." Drake said as he put his hands together.
Shock came to Daisy's parents, while the girl widened her eyes enough to keep them from rolling down. The three of them looked at each other and seemed to ask each other if their hearing was not wrong with what Drake had said to them.
"What do you mean, sir? I don't understand," Daisy's father asked. He had to make sure it was true.
"As of today, you are no longer an employee of your old company and tomorrow you will start working at Arson's company. Come as usual and never be late because my eldest son doesn't like stallers and undisciplined people!" Drake answered the question posed by Daisy's father still in a calm state, sitting back.
"Sorry, Mr. Drake. Did we hear you wrong? You're asking my father to work for Mr. Arson's company as assistant financial manager? Isn't this too much?" asked Daisy who chimed in to make sure for fear that this was just a trap or a trick by Drake to get back at Kylie.
"Do I have to repeat myself? I think you heard it clearly," Drake replied. The man hates it when he has to keep repeating what he's already said.
Daisy realized that her question was very presumptuous, the girl apologized to Drake for interfering in the conversation between parents.
Drake didn't mind and thought it was only natural to confirm the truth because Kylie would have done the same thing, just like Daisy did.
"But, sir. I'm not sure I can do the job very well because I don't have any experience in that department," Daisy's father said, sounding as if he was refusing. In fact, he was afraid that he would not be able to make a good contribution to the Adams family company and that it would disappoint Drake himself who had appointed him directly to an important part of the company.
"There is no harm in trying. I've given you that trust, it's just a matter of how well you do it. I don't like people who disappoint me," Drake said in reply to Daisy's father.
Daisy's father immediately looked at his wife who seemed to share his doubts about her husband's abilities.
"Mr. Drake, I don't think I can accept your offer. I apologize, sir. I'm afraid I'll disappoint you, Miss Kylie and Mr. Arson, the owner of the company," Daisy's father said again.
Drake immediately gave a glare to the man sitting in front of him and managed to scare Daisy and her mother, as well as Daisy's father who realized that his words were very wrong, they shouldn't have come out of his mouth.
"You all know that I hate rejection for whatever reason and I hate it when my son and daughter are disappointed, especially Kylie," Drake said with emphasis and managed to leave Daisy and her parents speechless, even more frightened.
Daisy immediately looked at her parents. She clasped her mother's hand tightly, as if to show that she was truly frightened by Drake's words. They never forgot the mafia leader's life principles.
"I'm sorry, sir. I really didn't mean to upset you. Please forgive me. I will accept your offer and do a great job. Thank you very much for the opportunity you have given me," Daisy's father said. Although he was also a man, but when it came to Drake Adams, he could not do anything, even if he just refused the gift from the notorious man, for fear of offending Drake.
