After dinner, Kylie immediately said goodbye to Drake, Arson, and her other siblings to leave the dining table first and went to her room because she still had to tidy up her belongings that she brought from abroad.
Drake immediately allowed Kylie to leave the dining table first, not forgetting to warn his only daughter to rest quickly because she must be exhausted after a long journey.
Kylie left the table and headed for her room. Her feet stopped at a locked milky white wooden door, and she gently pushed the door open to reveal a room dominated by white and pastel pink.
A smile appeared on the girl's face because, after years of leaving her room, she could finally return to her room. The feminine-designed room looked unchanged since the last time Kylie occupied it. Drake who kept forbidding Kylie to be too tomboyish.
"I missed this place," Kylie murmured as she walked into her room and sat on the edge of her bed.
Beside the bed were some of her suitcases, the contents of which had not been taken out because she forbade them because they contained her files and personal things. Kylie immediately opened the suitcases one by one and began to take out the contents.
Amid her activities that were tidying up her belongings, suddenly a knock on the door of her room was heard, making Kylie stop her activities and look at the door of her room which was still locked.
"Come in!" Kylie said with a little shout so that someone out there could immediately enter.
The wooden door opened again and revealed the figure of Arson who was now standing in the doorway with a thin smile on his face.
"Hey, little girl. You should be asleep by now," Arson opened his voice.
"I'd like to go to bed too, but there's no way these things are going to tidy themselves up," Kylie replied and resumed her delayed activity.
"That's why you shouldn't have bought so many things when you were there, as if you were going to stay there forever! Why did you forbid the maid from tidying up?" Arson said as he folded his arms across his chest and leaned against the open door frame.
Kylie gave an annoyed look to the eldest, did Arson think he would buy all that stuff if he didn't need it?
"Instead of you just standing there and annoying me, help me tidy all this up," Kylie retorted irritably.
Arson sighed as if he had a heavy heart to help the young woman, but even so, her feet stepped into the room and sat on the edge of the bed.
Seeing Arson sitting across from her in such proximity made Kylie hold her breath for a few seconds while trying to regulate her heartbeat which was beating violently again.
"So, how was school there? Did you get into any mischief?" asked Arson as he began to help Kylie get the girl's things out of the suitcase. Kylie had already told Arson and the others everything.
"Of course, I did well in school, I studied hard and always got good grades," replied Kylie who was still trying to control herself so as not to misbehave in front of Arson.
"Really? Are you sure you didn't pay the school there to get good grades?" asked Arson with an ignorant smile on his face. However, Arson immediately jumped in surprise when Kylie threw a pillow at him.
"Am I the one who would do that? I'm already smart from the start so I don't need to pay them to get good grades!" said Kylie annoyed with a little pride in front of Arson.
"Yeah, yeah, I forgot that your intelligence is above average. I'm sorry," replied Arson who admitted to losing to the youngest, while Kylie smiled happily at that.
Kylie and Arson resumed their activities, both of them too focused on cleaning up Kylie's belongings until the atmosphere of silence dominated between the two.
"So, what about your daily life there? Do you have many friends?" Arson asked again, breaking the silence between them.
The man stopped his hand movements and looked at Kylie. The two of them had finished cleaning up Kylie's belongings, so the room that had been full of Kylie's belongings now looked empty and clean.
Kylie who had just closed the closet now looked at Arson who was in front of her.
"I have a lot of friends, they're all good people. We often go to the amusement park once a week to unwind after being busy studying. We also often study together and it's not uncommon for us to have dinner parties together," Kylie explained at length about what she and her friends did there.
Arson just smiled at that. At least Kylie wasn't lonely while away from them all. Arson remembers when Kylie was first away from home and he and his other siblings were eager to follow Kylie to accompany her there, but were forbidden by Drake on the grounds of training Kylie's independence.
Arson stopped his reverie and turned to stare at Kylie who was in front of him with a straight look, making Kylie look wrong because of Arson's gaze.
"What about a boyfriend? Do you already have a boyfriend there or do you have someone you like?" asked Arson who sounded a little nervous, but Kylie didn't realize it.
Kylie was silent for a few moments, which made Arson curious himself waiting for Kylie's answer.
"Why are you suddenly asking that?" asked Kylie back, who was still reluctant to answer Arson's question just now.
"I'm just curious. Why, can't you? Or maybe you've been dating secretly so that we don't investigate your boyfriend, right?" accused Arson who again got a pillow throw from Kylie, but this time Arson managed to catch the pillow, making Kylie upset herself in place.
"I don't have a boyfriend! None of them managed to melt my heart anyway," Kylie replied with a smile trying to cover her feelings.
The young woman looked deeply at the eldest who was sitting in front of her.
I don't like any of them because what I like is the person who is sitting in front of me right now, Kylie said to herself while still observing the handsome face of the eldest in the Adams family.
Hearing Kylie's answer somehow made Arson feel relieved because at least there was still hope for his feelings toward Kylie so far.
Arson carved a faint smile then reached out his hand and ruffled the young girl's hair anxiously, causing Kylie to wake up from her reverie.
"You wait here, I want to get something first," Arson said as he stood up from the bed and walked out of the room, leaving Kylie who was still silent in her place while staring at Arson's back who disappeared behind the door.
Kylie obediently waited until Arson returned. The young woman waited for about ten minutes until Arson finally returned with a box in one of his hands.
"Here, take it and open it," said Arson who was now in front of Kylie while handing the box he was carrying to Kylie.
Kylie, who was still confused, obeyed what Arson said, she took the box from Arson's hand and immediately opened the box because she was also curious about the contents of the box. After opening the box given by Arson, Kylie's face suddenly turned surprised.
