"Kyl, Dai. We're having lunch at my house today, right? It just so happens that Dixon just called me, asking you to eat together at home because he wants to meet you two," Chloe said to her two friends.
Naturally, Dixon was eager to meet the two friends of his youngest brother because he also wanted to see firsthand the figure of Kylie Adams whom Devian called very beautiful and made Dixon even more curious, when his second brother continued to praise Kylie. There seems to be something that Devian is feeling.
"Now?" asked Kylie, while Daisy didn't need to ask anymore because Kylie had already asked because they were both really surprised, Chloe didn't say anything from their meeting this morning.
Chloe nodded her head. "Dixon just called me and he's already ordered a lot of food from outside. I also didn't know that he wanted to invite you to lunch together," Chloe replied as her eldest sister suddenly gave her that information.
Daisy also looked at Kylie and was reciprocated by Drake Adams' youngest daughter.
"Can't you come?" asked Kylie to the simple girl who seemed to understand the meaning of the look given by Daisy.
"I want to come, but I haven't asked my parents for permission yet. I don't want to worry them," Daisy replied. The girl wouldn't go if she hadn't gotten permission from her parents, she didn't want to worry her mom and dad.
Kylie looked at Chloe, where the girl had a hopeful look on her face so that her two friends would come to her house, while Daisy looked scared because she seemed unable to go to Chloe's house. After all, she hadn't told her parents. Daisy doesn't want to just leave without telling her mom, who must be waiting for her return from college.
"Alright, we're going to Chloe's house. But first, let's stop by Daisy's house." Kylie said as she turned to Daisy. "Let me ask your mom for permission while you change," said Drake Adams' favorite daughter.
Chloe smiled widely and Daisy also nodded her head. If it's like that, Daisy feels safe because her mother knows where she's going, and won't worry about her while waiting for her return from Chloe's house.
At Leo's residence.
Dixon looked very busy with the help of Devian and several other servants to serve all the food he had bought.
"Why is this so sudden? You should have told me last night so I could help you with the shopping," Devian said to his eldest brother.
"I can't make plans like that. You know how much work there is in the office and it just so happens that I got some of it done early. So I decided to take Chloe's two friends to lunch together so that I can also get to know Daisy and my future sister-in-law," Dixon replied while winking at Devian then returned to busy his hands to take out some of the food he had bought from the grocery bag.
Devian nodded his head while helping Dixon, not long after he was surprised to hear the final sentence of his brother's words. It seemed like he just realized something strange about Dixon's words earlier.
"What do you mean?" asked Devian with a confused face.
Dixon also raised his head towards Devian. "Which one?" he asked back.
"Don't pretend you don't know! There's no way you can forget what you said just a few seconds ago," said Devian with a frown on his face.
Dixon laughed. "I don't know what you mean. Didn't I say a lot earlier? So which one is it?" said Dixon again teasing his second brother.
Devian chuckled because Dixon was still pretending not to know what he meant.
"You just said, prospective sister-in-law. Who is Chloe going to bring her male friend?" asked Devian. Even though it was clear that what Dixon meant was Kylie and the man did not mention at all about Chloe's lover because he also knew his sister did not have a boyfriend.
"Devian, you can't be too stupid. You're already an adult. Didn't you understand what I just said? Did I mention anything about a man? No, I didn't. Try to understand what I said again and since when did Chloe choose a date?" said Dixon who was also annoyed because Devian did not understand where he was going, even though Devian was no longer a child under the age of 15 who would not understand about romance.
Devian chose silence to try to remember what the man had said and it seemed he understood.
"What do you mean Kylie?" he asked.
Dixon simply cleared his throat in response to his brother's question.
"What about Kylie?" Devian asked again.
I don't know, the man was still asking.
Because he was too annoyed with Devian, Dixon immediately threw the spoon he was holding, but not too strong so as not to hurt his brother, it was just an outlet for his frustration because Devian still didn't understand.
"Never mind if you still don't understand. Just be a stupid man and you'll be alone until old age! Just like that you don't understand, it's only fitting that no woman has approached you so far. Are you not interested in a woman?" Dixon said as he asked at the end of his sentence and was a little suspicious of Devian because he didn't seem to give any response about Kylie. Not to forget, Dixon also gave his brother a sardonic look.
Dixon wanted to hit Devian hard on the head so that his brother would understand what he meant.
"Don't talk carelessly! I'm still interested in a woman," said Devian who did not accept Dixon's words.
"How can you say something like that when you don't even understand where I'm going with it? Huh, I'm annoyed with you, Devian." Dixon said again while sharpening and folding his face even more.
The man standing in front of Dixon didn't quite understand his brother's words.
"Then, who should I rely on if I want to have a nephew from the two of you soon?" asked Devian again who raised his voice.
Devian rounded his mouth and nodded vaguely.
"Ah, now I see what you mean. So, you wish I could be with Kylie. Like that?" asked Devian with an interrogating look at Dixon.
The eldest of the three brothers smiled broadly and nodded vigorously.
"You're right, Devian," Dixon replied while pointing his index finger and thumb at Devian.
Instead of being happy, Devian folded his face again.
"So, now you understand what I'm saying? I don't need to explain anymore," Dixon asked with a big smile.
Devian's curiosity had turned into annoyance towards Dixon. How could his eldest brother expect something that seemed unreasonable?
"What made your face fold up like that?" asked Dixon again while glancing at Devian, while he had finished arranging all the food bought earlier.
"If I hit your head, wouldn't that be too much?" asked Devian who then leaned back to look at Dixon.
The eldest son of the Leo family followed Devian's lead, placing both hands on his chest.
"What's wrong with what I said?" the man asked.
"No, but it's your mind that seems to be in trouble," Devian replied.
It looked like the argument between the two men wouldn't stop until the arrival of the three beautiful girls.
"Where did it go wrong? Explain," Dixon asked again while raising his eyebrows.
Dixon loved teasing his siblings, especially now that he saw the blush on Devian's face who seemed to really have different feelings for one of their sister's friends.
"You forget who Kylie is?" asked Devian.
"I know, I know. She is the favorite daughter of Drake Adams who rules almost every European country," Dixon replied casually.
Devian made an incredulous face at Dixon who could be that casual when answering his question. He lowered his hand and shook his head while looking away.
"Aren't you afraid of me approaching Kylie?" he asked again.
"Yeah, definitely scared, especially dealing with Drake Adams. I still want a quiet life with you two," Dixon replied with a laugh and then made a crying face at Devian.
There was no answer from Chloe's second brother, he made an annoyed face at his eldest brother.
"I'm very afraid. So I beg you to think again if you have feelings for Kylie because it seems very unlikely that your love will be reciprocated. The caste difference between us is stark and Mr. Drake would never allow Kylie to be with a man from an ordinary family like us," Dixon said with a hopeful face so that Devian would not have feelings for the eldest daughter of the Adams family.
For a moment Dixon's words made Devian realize, but there was no harm in trying. If Kylie also loved him, surely Drake would give his blessing to both of them because Devian was very sure, Draje Adams loved Kylie very much and would obey whatever the only daughter in the Adams family wanted.
"You are too much Dixon. I don't love Kylie. You just immediately had thoughts like that and now you are scared yourself," said Devian.
It felt like the man wanted to be angry with Dixon because the man seemed to be stupid by looking for his illness, namely, thinking about things that seemed very absurd.
"But your face looks like you're in love, from the way you described Kylie last night," Dixon said.
Devian immediately waved his hand. "Never mind, I'll go first, I want to pick up Chloe. Pity if she's been waiting for a long time," Devian said then walked away from Dixon's presence.
Meanwhile, Dixon smiled while shaking his head. He would never forbid his two brothers from choosing a partner. If Devian loved Kylie, then he could only support and try to convince Drake Adams that his brother was a responsible man who could take care of Kylie. Although they are not as powerful as the Adams family, if Drake already does not approve of Devian's love, he cannot do anything but ask Devian to stay away from Kylie.
However, if Devian's love is reciprocated by Drake Adams' youngest daughter, it is also useless. He would still ask Devian to forget his feelings, not caring if his brother would feel heartbroken rather than end up in the hands of the mafia chief.
Devian's iron carriage had entered the campus courtyard, where his sister Kylie and Daisy were waiting for him. From a distance Devian could see that the three of them were preparing to approach him, it seemed like they had been waiting for a long time.
"You took so long," Chloe grumbled when Devian got out of his car.
"I'm sorry, I was helping Dixon first. It's also his fault for making a sudden event like this," Devian replied while briefly glancing at Kylie.
"Yes, you're right. Even though last night he didn't discuss anything about our lunch. If he had made plans from last night, maybe his preparations would have been more mature," Chloe said, while Kylie and Daisy only listened to the two siblings' conversation.
Devian also turned to Kylie, he was afraid that Kylie could not join them for lunch together, considering Kylie had to get permission from her father first. If Drake didn't give permission, then don't expect to be able to take the girl away.
