LYRA'S POV It was one of those afternoons that I was awake. I had taken on the practice of meditation. I learned it from one of the books Eric brought for me. I was not sure if I was doing it well, though. I was trying; that was the point. I backed the door and assumed what I thought was the correct position for mediation. I was trying to clear my mind and empty my thoughts. What was I supposed to do next after that? I would consult the book, but Eric suddenly came in the middle of the night and packed everything he brought, including my old clothes, with a promise to explain everything to me later.
