Chapter 2

ARIANA’S POV

I ran into the woods, swatting away all branches that were in my way. Even the night creatures which would get me scared, wasn’t getting to me as all that was on my mind was the pain which Michael made me go through.

Soon, I could see a highway from the distance. Yes. Finally, I was going far from this pack of misery. I increased my speed even when my legs were hurting, and as I got to the highway, about to take another leap, something hard hit me from nowhere, and I fell to the ground, and rolled until my body could no longer move.

Blood trickled down my head, and my breath reduced as I stared at the car which had hit me. Could it be that they sent someone against me to hit me with his car, and get rid of me completely.

“Don’t hurt me.” I managed to speak.

Then I noticed the person was getting down from his car, and the shoes he wore, showed he was a wealthy person.

I tried to move, but my body wasn’t. Then a sharp pain went through my head, causing the noise and sound around me, to reduce. Even my eyes became fuzzy. Moon goddess, Lord of the heavens, please help me. I don’t want my life to end this way.

ALPHA LUKE’S POV

“Alpha, please I’m so sorry. I…I was forced to do it.” One of my warriors pleaded earnestly, with shaky hands.

He had tried to get my tea poisoned, and when he thought I had drunk it, he tried to charge towards me with a poisoned dagger.

“Who sent you!” I raised my voice at him, in anger.

“It’s… It’s…” He tried to speak, but then, he coughed out blood.

I had exchanged the tea, just to know if he had something in mind, and truly, he did.

“Alpha… Please save me. I don’t want to die.” He pleaded, with tears running down his eyes.

“Tears. A sign of weakness. And that’s the reason they were able to get to you.” I said to him, and turned around to leave.

Whether he wanted it or not, he was going to die. There was no way I would bring myself to save him. If he could be threatened to dare to kill me, then he couldn’t be trusted, and such people were to be considered as weed on my own part.

I also didn’t need to get the name of the person who sent him, from him. I knew just the person who was desperate to kill me, and I would teach him a lesson, today.

I got into the car, and drove off on a high speed, with the anger which was boiling in me. While driving, a girl suddenly came out of nowhere, and it was too late to halt the car, so she was hit, and she rolled to the ground.

“s**t!” I cursed out loud, out of frustration.

If not because she was a lady, I could have left her, because she ought to know she was meant to watch out for cars, around here. I quickly got down from the car, and rushed towards her.

“Hey! Are you alright?” I asked as I bent to her.

But as I bent to her, her scent filled my nostrils, and I felt completely drawn to her.

“Mate.” My wolf purred.

Feelings of desire, stirred from inside of me, and my heart went soft for her. Goodness. I had just hit my mate.

Without wasting any more time, I held her up, and rushed towards my car, then placed her at the back seat. She was losing blood, and she was unconscious already. As I got into the front seat, I drove off, and changed my direction, which was heading home.

On getting home, the maids also helped me, and then we placed her in a room.

“Get me the pack’s doctor!” I instructed anyone out of them, and almost all of them scurried out of the room, while the rest helped me with a few things to stop her from bleeding.

All through, I held her hand, hoping she would stay strong, and come back to consciousness. Being my mate, she was my only hope, for a change. And besides that, she made me feel a part of me which I had lost, in a very long time.

Shortly, the pack doctor arrived, and everyone went out of the room, including me, to give him space to do his job.

I waited patiently, pacing around and hoping he would come out of the room, with a smile on his face to tell me she lived through it.

In no time, he came out of the room, and I walked up to him immediately.

“How is she?” I asked, out of curiosity and concern.

“She is stable, now. But she needs rest as she lost a lot of blood.” He informed me, respectfully.

Relief washed through my heart and I felt so calm.

“Alright then.” I responded. “I can go to see her, now, right?”

“Yes, Alpha.”

Immediately, I walked into the room, and my eyes fell on her gorgeous self. She seemed feeble, gentle, and sweet, just from one look at her. As I moved closer to her, I began to see so many signs that pointed to the fact that she was actually human.

The whole incident that happened, and the way I felt when I hit her, didn’t make me realize she was also human. It was quite surprising that the moon goddess had actually given me a human as a mate, which made me less positive on the outcome between us.

Would she want to get herself involved with a werewolf, or would she want to run and never see me again? Many of those thoughts came to my head, giving me a restless moment as I stared at her.

Well, the only way I could tell how things were going to unfold was when she woke up.
