(Theresa's Pov)
I ran as far as my legs could carry me into the woods immediately I made my escape out of the pack. My wolf wasn't too fast but at least before they found out I had run away, it would be too late for them to catch up with me.
After the chat with Alpha Nicholas at the throne room, I couldn't believe the fact that a Lycan King would claim me, a mere maid and promise to make me the queen of his pack. Was he okay? How could he think of lying to me and everyone just like that? Do I look dumb to him?
I'm Theresa Hercules, an orphan and as well an omega in moonlight pack without anything to call to my name. After my parents died while helping someone when I was at a tender age, I was taken in as a slave in the pack house and I had been working there even up till now. The packs all hated me because they thought I was cursed by the goddess to be wolfless and mateless for a long period of time.
But I was still a strong omega and wouldn't let the pack words affect me. I was hardworking and would always do everything to please everyone especially Ian who took advantage of it and treated me badly but what could I do? I was a mere slave.
So listening to the Lycan King telling Alpha Nicholas that he was taking me away to be his queen, I considered it as lies. Why would he mate with someone like me when there are other ladies more reputable, beautiful and appealing right in front of his eyes. Then he said he chose me? Unbelievable!
I just couldn't accept it as the truth and what was most surprising was when he accepted to be the father of my child, the child whose real father I couldn't even remember.
Ian used me as a s*x tool and now someone was coming to end my life finally, I had to think of a way out. I just couldn't let his lies affect me to think he was going to be a good person to a used omega. It was unfair not for me but for him. He was a Lycan King for crying out loud and he needed someone who was up to his status.
I couldn't think straight until I ended up concluding to escape from the pack in the middle of the night. Not like I knew where I was going to, but because I just needed to run away so I won't have to face a woeful life again. Who knows what might have been installed for me?
Whereas, I couldn't trust my child in the hands of someone else. It was wrong of me to think that someone, not even someone, a Lycan King would love to accept the child that wasn't his, was that really possible?
I sped into the forest, covering a long distance. I could tell I was already far from home but I still had to run, those people mustn't catch up with me but little did I know that I was going to meet my demise myself.
I kept running and didn't see the cliff ahead of me because everywhere was covered with grasses and big trees. It was until I was a foot away I noticed it but it was too late for me. I went dangling off the cliff as I heard my wolf make a loud growl and then, everything was blank.

I heard words going all about in my head but I couldn't get them straight. I didn't even want to know who was talking since I was too weak to think. I just noticed that I laid down on something comfy which of course would definitely be a bed. A bed? I was in a room? In a room in the pack again?
I flung my eyes open and sprang up from where I laid, panting to catch my breath like I had just had a terrible dream. I stayed like that for some seconds, when suddenly, I felt a hand touch me on my back. I flinched, turning my head to see who it was and right there stood someone I didn't think I had met before. She was a beautiful lady whom I presumed to be around the age of forty. I watched her as her lips parted into a smile and when suddenly I smelled her blood. A human?
"Are you alright, my dear?" Her soft voice came out echoing through my ear and I leaped backward for her not to touch me. She was a human. Why must I be in a room with her? "C'mon, darling. You don't have to be scared, okay?" She told me and all I continued to do was stare at her, observant of what she might do next because I was obviously scared.
"Who are you?" I finally found my voice that came trembling out of me like that of lightning.
The woman leaned backward as though she read my mind and answered, "I'm Marie."
"You smell like human," I told her, sniffling her blood.
She arched her brows at me before she burst into laughter. She laughed so hard that she had to question me between laughter. "What are you? A mermaid?" Her laugh filled the room and I felt irritated cause for real, I was serious.
"I'm a werewolf and where am I?" I asked with a stern look and the smile that followed after laughing faded immediately I mentioned my identity.
She brought her head forward to me and asked, "What did you say you are?"
My fingers reached out to my head as I felt my head pounding to the way her voice echoed through my head and I couldn't help but growl, "Where am I?!"
She didn't move an inch from where she stood which was a bit surprising and all she had to do was stare at me with an irritating look as if I've got something gross on my face. "Are you deaf? I asked where I am?" I bellowed, softly this time, trying to let my growl affect the headache starting to rise in my head.
I watched her turn to leave, "Suit yourself, I will be right back."
"Where the hell are you going?! Tell me where I am?!" I yelled and tried to stand up from the bed but as I did, I couldn't help but fall back on the bed. My whole body hurts.
