Rein returned to the ground in a clearing in the forest near the stronghold. He suspected Raul would either have a trap set up around the stronghold or archers whose job it was to protect the sky.
In either case, although it would take a bit longer, it was more important to get inside alive, which meant going in by foot.
He didn't bother checking the village first to see if Sin had been there or if maybe he'd gotten away unscathed. Again he had a powerful sensation in his gut that Sin was in the stronghold. Rein closed his eyes and let his senses searched for him. And yes, he was in the stronghold...and in pain.
His eyes snapped open and he took off at a run.
It was the joining that was allowing him to feel Sin's presence nearby. He'd realized it the moment he landed in the woods.
