Chapter 8 - Alana
... What the heck was an Oracle in the end?
Well, of course, I knew what an Oracle was, but did that word have the same meaning here as it did at home?
Was she someone who could predict the future and things like that when a strange mist appeared around her or her eyes become white?
Or was there something else about that simple term that I couldn't guess yet?
... And that was what I honestly believed to be the correct answer right now...
So, as rude as my question might sound, I wanted to understand what she was, along with everything else that involved that world and how I got there... As I was also curious to know how she had created that place from her necklace...
... Or who were the people who came after me earlier? And what did they want with me? Who were the man and the woman who eagerly wanted to talk to me a few days ago? There were so many questions that even all the time of the world didn't seem enough...
"Fair enough, after all, I told you that I brought you here so I could explain better what was going on to you." And as if that was the simplest thing to do, she spoke to me before turning her back on me, walking over to a small tree nearby, sitting on one of the branches before proceeding.
... Allowing me to see some of the tiffany blue fabric that made up her outfit that hid under her dark brown cloak, which just didn't cover her head...
"First, let me tell you a little bit about this body that you possessed right now." As if I were a ghost, she mentioned, making me want to contradict her, but at the same time, something inside me told me that there was a probability she might be right in the end, shutting me up as I bit my lip. "And as you may have noticed, her name is Dilara, Earl Azriel's eldest daughter, who ironically rules over the only lands in the entire territory of the Re'vér kingdom that share borders with Saram's."
"... And what's so weird about it?" Not being able to understand what she meant with that as she ran a hand through her hair as if she were thinking about something, a silly impulse made me ask her that.
After all, aside from the shocking part of discovering that the woman I saw in my dreams was the daughter of someone so important, the rest didn't seem to be unexpected enough for her to comment on it.
... But, of course, I didn't know anything about that world yet, and perhaps they were enemies or something like that, making her think that it all was ironic while I started to think about what kind of confusion I had got myself into...
"Oh, darling! You will soon understand what I mean by that." Full of certainty in her voice, she answered me before continuing with her explanation. "But back to what I was saying, Count Azriel from Re'vér is her father. However, it doesn't mean that Dilara's mother is less special or important than him, which reminds me that you have already met her."
Without realizing it, I looked at her strangely when I heard that until I remembered the delicate figure that ran to me when I opened my eyes here for the first time.
"Yes, she was the woman with long white hair who went to you with Ka'lih." And as if she could read my mind, Zemira mentioned it out of nowhere, bringing me back from my thoughts immediately. "She is known by everyone as the Northern Star, making us sometimes forget that her real name is Inina, and it was probably due to the strong similarities that Dilara has with her that they named her with this name."
... Perhaps on Earth, Inina meant glimmer of light, yet, little did I know then there, that name had an even deeper meaning while Dilara was the daughter of the North literally in their language, proving the strong relation between mom and daughter...
"Northern Star?" Innocently, I ended up speaking out loud, feeling that I had heard that term before... Leaving me uncertain if it had been something she had mentioned earlier or something related to all the constellations that my sister liked to talk to me back when we were in high school...
"Inina, like me, is an Oracle along with her twin brother, but only she's blessed with the protection from the Divinity, who originated from the star of the North, being the first to receive such title in the last five hundred years. So, besides the influence of her appearance, it made everyone start to call her just by her title. " The more she spoke, I could easily understand more and more how being an Oracle should be something quite important to them.
... Something that attracts all the eyes to this person as if they were some kind of celebrity here, and I couldn't even imagine what kind of things they needed to deal with daily...
"And well, the fact that you... That you become Dilara right now. The eldest daughter of these two, who is walking and talking in front of everyone, has already made you the biggest news of the last few years, as everyone wants to see or stay with you all the time to make sure this is all real, and that nothing terrible happens to you again."
"Walking and speaking? But these are normal things, and the vast majority of people can do that." Without thinking twice, I said back to her as she continued to point at me with her finger before a strange smile came over her face, leaving me uncomfortable in her presence at that moment.
"Perhaps this is normal for anyone who does not have any limitations. However, when it is about Dilare, the same can't be said..." Standing up, she walked towards me, making me take a step back, stopping before my second one as I remember where I was. "This poor child was cursed years ago when she was just a little girl."
