ShayBuzzed, Buzzed, Buzzed! I swear that was the most annoying sound in entire human being. Agh. Stupid alarm clock. Now i have to force myself to get out of the bed and stared at the wall blankly across me. Can someone please tell me why do i have to go to school if i already have everything. Why though? But then the thought of my father cross my mind. Everything between us is really blurry since i grew up far away from my family. Still, if there is someone who i want to impress with, that's him. I want to prove that i am strong and independent woman. Deep inside of me though, i really want my father to be proud of me. It is cold today and would not really mind if i walk to school. I'm just enjoying the peacefulness and freedom that i have right now because once i move in white house everything will change. The village is so quiet but the residence are very pleasant. Life is simple here, this is the life that i want too. Why i can't be like them? I smiled when i heard my stomach growled in hunger. Since i didn't eat breakfast i have decided to get something to eat. Oh, there is a coffee shop right here, maybe i should get some again. But before i could say anything, my heart jumped on my throat when i heard a loud sound behind me. "Oh fvck—" I turned around and come face to face with a red mustang. "Hey!" I heard a voice again. The window of the mustang slowly rolled down and my eyes met hers. It's Elise. "Need a ride?" "Mm, no. I—" "Oh come on." She gave me a heart stopping smile. "Hop in." My smile went wide and didn't bother declining again. I quickly jumped inside her sexy car before she could even change her mind. "Nice car." I complemented. It smells strawberry. "And thank you for picking me up." Elise chuckled. Awe. She is really cute as her eyes focusing on the road. "You are very much welcome." I heard her responded and slowly maneuver the car to the left side of the street. We are totally enjoying the silence between us but not an awkward one. I couldn't help but secretly steal few glance at her. Can't blame me because Elise Shannon is undeniably beautiful. "Where do you live here? Which street?" Elise asked curiously. What should i say? Do i have to tell her that i just live three streets away from school? That im the only daughter of the most powerful man in the world? Heck, i can't. I didn't want to push Elise away because she will probably get intimidated of my status in life. Like what i have said, i want my feet rooted on the ground regardless of my status. My eyes drifted outside the window. "Just three street away." Elise thought for awhile. "Are we neighbor?" Now i become a little nervous. What if we are really a neighbor? "Mm im not sure." Elise put more gas on. "Anyway, how did you find our school so far?" This time i turned to look at her. "Oh it's great, i like the teachers." Which is true. "Very friendly classmates and the fool was really delicious." "Glad to hear that." Elise said with a smile. "Also, i have been looking for a place to go to.." "What kind of place though?" Elise asked curiously. "Mm anywhere peaceful." I answered. Elise stopped her car in front of the coffee shop where i went yesterday. "Let's have some coffee." She didn't even wait for my reply as she dashed outside. I didn't have any choice but followed her inside the coffee shop. The aroma of coffee makes my soul flies in heaven.. "Hey Elise!" An old woman greeted her. I noticed that they seems to have something in common. "Good morning." Elise hugged the old woman and kissed her cheek softly. "Hi mom. Good morning too.""You are early." Elise's mother said. "Mm yes." Elise nodded her head. "Anyway mom." They turned to me. "I have a friend with me. She is Shantal." The old woman stared hard at me. As if she is contemplating of something. "Wait, you came here yesterday." Wow, she must be have a very sharp memory to remember their customer every now and then. I smiled sweetly. "Yes." "Are you new here?" Elise's mother asked. "She came from london mother." It was Elise. "My new classmate.""Oh i see." The old woman smile. "Hello Shanntal." I was really surprised she hugged me. "You're so beautiful."My face blushed. "Thank you." All of a sudden Elise grabbed my arm and we walked towards the counter. She handed me a hot espresso. Nice. We have a same taste. After we said goodbye to Elise's mother we left the Coffee Shop. I insisted to pay for our coffee though but her mother refused. I feel bad. But Elise assured me that it's okay. "Tell me about yourself Shanntal." Elise blurted out as she slowly driving.I gently wiped my lips using a tissue. "What do you want to know?" This is the kind of conversation i was trying to avoid with anyone. I don't want to build a thousands of lies but i have to keep promises to my parents that im not going to expose myself in public. "About yourself." Elise stated. I sighed in complication. "Well, first you can call me Shay." Then i wink at her. "Only for you though." Elise blushed. "I'm seventeen. Soccer and volleyball are my sport, i also know how to play piano—" "Mine is guitar." She stated. "Oh cool." I said smiling. "Honestly, i really want to learn the guitar but i don't really have time." "I can teach you." I looked at Elise. "Really?" Elise smiles so big. It makes me weak in the knees. "Yes, i can teach you." My eyebrows raised. "For free?" "For free." Elise said. "Wait, how about your family?"Oh great!"I, uh.." My jaw tightened. Should i tell her about my family and status in life. My parents especially dad will get mad. "I came from an orphanage in London."It was too late before i realized what i just said. Gosh, if i can only take it back. I would do it. Right on cue, Elise gives me a shock look. As if is she going to pity me or—But then she smiles at me. Agh. This guilt is slowly eating me alive. Elise swiftly parked her mustang in her own parking lot, only reserved for her. Nice. We quietly went out of the car and marched down the hallway. "Thank you for a ride again." I told Elise while we are walking towards our locker. Elise titled her head back with a smile. "It's fine. Well. If you want. I can pick you up every morning." I'm a bit surprised about her offer. How nice of her. She really think that i have no one. I have nothing but myself."I like your proposition but thank you. I like walking going school and vise versa." I declined her offer politely. She sighed and walked towards me. I felt her hands on my shoulder. "Okay, but you can always ask me though." I smiled at her. God. She is so beautiful up close as her hazel eyes are shining like a moon dust in the sky. Elise isn't only a good looking person but has a good heart. She's genuine. "What?" Sabina half yelled when i told her what happened between Elise and I. "Lower your voice." I covered her mouth using my hand to stop from her yelling. "I know im fvcking stupid. I was just—" "You lied to her." Sabrina stated the obvious. "This is your idea." I snorted at her. The wind blew my hair as we stopped walking in front of the locker. "But i promise to tell her soon.""You should be." Sabrina agreed. "Though i know how difficult is your situation but please Shay, tell her the truth." I shakes my head. "I should have stayed in london and never come back here." "Oh please. Don't say that. It's hurts me." Sabrina murmured. "But you know what. Its okay. Just do what you think is right. The sooner the better to tell her the truth." We are interrupted when my phone rang. I quickly pulled it out and frowned. Oh hell. Why is he calling me? There are many question in my head but still end up answering the call. "Hello?" A strong and husky voice spoke from the other line. I swallowed hard while Sabrina stay quite. "Shawn..""Are you not excited to talk with your brother, Shay?" There is a faint of hurt in his voice.I sighed. "Why are you calling me? What do you wa—" He immediately cut me off. "I'm here in your school right now, meet me at the parking lot." But before i could say anything he already hang up. "What is wrong?" Sabrina asked confused. "Shawn is here." I told Sabrina with a heavy sigh. "Should i meet him?" Because i know to myself im not yet ready. "Or not?" "Why not?" Sabrina returned the question to me. "Maybe it's time for you guys to reconcile." I chose not to say anything as we stopped at the parking lot. There are two men next to the car but the moment they sees me they immediately open the limo's door. "Let's go Shay." Sabrina whispered. At first i was really hesitant to see my brother. "Come on."We went inside the car and i sits next to my brother. I was in awe when i see his face again. He looks matured now with thick bread and eye brows. Shawn is the reflection of a perfect son to my father. "How is my beautiful Sister?" My brother asked me when we are already settled. I just looked at him thoughtfully. "I'm good."Seriously Shawn and I are not in good term. We grew up like strangers. He is nosy, conceited and my father's favorite child. Okay. I'm jealous. But who wouldn't? I've been trying my best to impressed my dad for keeping my good grades but he always look passed at me."Why you didn't tell me you are here already, only mom—"I immediately cut him off. "Don't pretend that you are happy to see me, I'm not your obligations either. I don’t need your pity because for half of my life i was alone."My jealousy for my brother is higher than the empire state building in New York.
