Shay"Sabrina, do you know her?" I curiously asked my cousin while we are eating here at the cafeteria with her popular friends. I honestly don't like her group of friends, they all look stubborn and conceited. She gave me a sideway glance. "Who?""Elise." I replied. "That one you called babe." Sabrina chuckled and faced me "Yes. I know her since freshman year. Elise is a simple student, she is oblivious about her popularity. She doesn't like so much attention and trying to be a low profile." I stared hard on her face. "I didn't know you're a bisexual?"Sabrina almost choked by the food she was eating. "No." She shook her head eagerly. "I'm not bisexual." She whispered really low. "I was only teasing her because she is super cute when was mad." Okay. That's make a little sense. I know she was telling the truth because I know her since childhood, though we didn't see each other for years but I know she is still the same. Sabrina grew up so beautiful and gorgeous. Like i have expected. I saw Elise came inside the cafeteria laughing so hard with a guy next to her. "Is that her boyfriend?" "Nah." Sabrina smile with a shakes of her head. "That's her best friend Jimmy, they look like a couple but they are only friends. A best friend. Beside.. " She paused and looked at me. "Jimmy is gay." I can't help but to feel amazed, how does she knew all about that? I'm pretty sure that they are not even friends because i witnessed how Sab treated them. "How did you know that?" I mimicked my thoughts. Sabrina raised an eyebrow at me. "Don't forget I'm the Queen and I have ways." She said with a pure sarcasm. It made me smile though. "Anyway, people aren't aware that you are the president daughter?"I quickly covered her mouth with my hand. "Sabrina." I hissed against her ear. "And it's private." I made sure that my voice is painfully low so no one could hear aside from us. Good thing though that people in our table are busy talking. "They don't have to know, I want to live in peace, without special treatment." Sabrina nodded her head slowly in agreement. "Okay. We have to keep it as long as you want, for your security." "Thank you." I breath out and bit my apple. Sabrina chuckled and finished the last piece of her sandwich. "Let us pretend that you have no place to go."My eyebrows raised. "Like an orphan?""Well." Sabrina smiled widely. "Sounds really good idea." I just shook my head in disbelief. Why would I do that? I never want to lie and make up story. But I know I'm in a conflicted situation right now and I have to protect my self from everyone. I looked down my wrist watch "I have to go Sabrina." "I can drop you off." She offered. "It's okay Sab. I want to go on a walk." I told her. "My apartment is just few block away from here." In london, i always prefer to walk. I love to witness the unfolding beauty of the scenery right in front of me. It has a positive effect though, walking is a great exercise and good for the heart. "Are you sure?" Sabrina asked "Since i came from an orphanage—" I joked. "I have to walk." Sabina stood up as well and laughed softly. "You are too beautiful and sophisticated to be an orphan, I mean no offense but still..""I was only joking silly.""Right."Sabrina and i went to the parking lot while talking about everything and anything. It's my choice not to take my car today. I don't want to be foreign in my own country. So why not enjoy it? Money is not a problem either. My so-called parents provides thousands of dollar in my account for my allowance every week. My mom and I are close to each other rather than my dad."See you tomorrow Sab." I told my cousin. Sabrina gives me a hug. "Will you be okay?" I tapped her back. "I will be, don't worry." She released me as we smile at each other. "You need anything, just call me okay?" Gosh, i can't remember when was the last time i have heard someone called me Shay. It was Nana used to call me in the name. Remembering her, makes me sad. I just shakes my head to clear my mind. I hugged myself to shrugged the harsh wind since winter is coming. I started walking down the street, wandering my eyes around, trying to find really interesting. It took me awhile before something caught my attention. A small coffee shop. I decided to go at least to treat myself from stress. I pushed the glass door and the aroma of coffee shattered everywhere around the room. Oh God. I miss this kind of smell. I forgot to tell you that i love coffee so much. It makes my body and mind relaxed.I went to the counter and ordered espresso. I paid my bill and sat at the back to fully enjoy the place. "How was school?" I almost jumped when i heard my mother's voice speak behind me."Mom.." I clutched my chest to calm down my heart. "You scared the hell out of me." My mom sat down gracefully in the couch. People always mistaken about her age. Mother is in her late 40s but because she loves to take care of herself. For me, she looks in her late 20s.I sat down beside her and hugged my mother. "I miss you." She rubbed my back and hugged me as well. God. I really missed this mother— daughter moment in 10 years. "Why you had to leave me in london?" The question spilled out of my mouth stunned me too. "I'm sorry." Mother whispered. "Leaving you in london was the hardest decision we had ever made." "Then why?" But she didn't say anything. "We will tell you everything in the right time." I just sighed in distress. "Still, im sorry for everything—we know it's hard to understand right now but soon."I stared at her, trying to seek the answer through her eyes. I found sincerity and love for every words she said. "What's done has been done mom though." I looked down at my feet. "You and I both know that can't turn back the 10 years of my life." Mother stood up. "But you are my mother, and i want to start a new life with you guys. I forgive you and please forgive me for being stubborn." My mom bend and kneel down in front of me. Tears strolling down her cheeks and placed her head on my lap. "I'm so sorry Shay." "Mom.." My tears swelled in my eyes. "Can we start a new life? Come with me in White House. I'm pretty sure your father and your brother will be happy to see you." I thought for a minute for a perfect words to say. They are the only family that i have and all that i need. "Yes.." Mother smile gratefully. "Thank you.""But can you please give me a little time to enjoy my high school life?" I inquired. "Because you know, If i decide to stay with you in White House. My identity will reveal in public." We looked at each other. "Don't worry I’ll go with you when im ready." She stood up and so did i. She caressed my cheeks and kissed me softly. "It's okay baby. I can wait. I will tell your dad about this. I know his excited to see you again." Really now? "I know you have a lot of ill feelings for him because he is cold on you." Mother stared. "But please try to understand that he did this for you." I nodded slowly not sure what to say. "Okay mom."She smiled at me. "Come on, I will cook for you." I stood up. "I miss having dinner with my beautiful daughter."I grinned widely. "You think I'm beautiful mom?"She titled her head back. "I'm your mother."I pouted playfully. "You only told me that because I’m your daughter."
