Chapter 4 Moira followed Renée and I out to the parking lot and stopped at her car. There, Renée insisted that she didn’t need the officer to drive her home, and it was clear she was prepared to argue about it. Intervening, I tossed Moira my keys so she could drive my car, while insisting that I drive Renée home. The officer agreed to my suggestion, not wanting to upset the mother any further. Pointing to his car, he told me he would follow us to the Clifton home. "You can keep an eye out for any signs of Tommy as I drive," I told Renée as we opened the car doors. I cut short her arguments over driving by giving her task I hoped would keep her occupied until we reached her house. Renée nodded in agreement and once we were both in and buckled up, I followed her directions to her home. H
