I remained in my faux unconscious state the entire way to the house. It felt like hours that I was on that boat with Jake at my side. Every few minutes he'd run his fingers through my hair and whisper sweet things to me about how our future together would be perfect, I would be happy and he would protect me and take real good care of me. It was hard to not reach out and tell him to stop. Soon though that time would come.
When I felt myself being laid down in my bed at my new home my mind was relieved. Now I would get time to myself.
"So what are the rules?" Jake asked, killing the ten minutes of silence we had accumulated.
"What do you mean?" My father replied.
Jake sighed and then I felt my bed jostle as he took a seat at the foot of my bed.
"I mean with Renesmee and I." There was a pause. "Why don't you just read my mind like you usually do Edward?"
I felt the tension rise in the room as I knew what was next.
"I would if I could."
"What do you mean?"
"Anyone within a certain range of Renesmee I can't read because of her sheild."
"Her shield?" Jacob's voice seemed confused.
"Long story but its not important at the moment. What do you want to know Jacob?"
There was a long uncomfortable silence. Though it was no longer then 94 seconds it felt like forever.
"The relationship between Renesmee and I, what are our limits," He coughed in a nervous manner. "Physically I mean."
I could have sworn my heart stopped and stuttered. Did he just ask my father that?
My father sighed. "My daughter is not a child anymore so she can speak on her own behalf."
After this was said by my father he then insisted that he showed Jake to his room, where he made it clear in his tone that he would be sleeping there and only there.
Now I was to myself.
I opened my eyes and glanced around only to gasp. My mother was still at my beside, watching me.
"And for a moment I would have bought your fainting spell if you hadn't gained consciouness the second Jacob left the room." my mother said to me.
My face was red and full of shame as I pushed myself into a sitting position.
"Guilty." I murmered as my face flushed even more. "I didn't know what to do so I panicked and pretended to faint."
My mother pulled me effortlessly into her arms and held me like she did when I was a child.
"Renesmee you need to tell him how you feel. You are an adult now and he knows that. He is beginning to see you in a differently light and there is no stopping it." my mother explained.
I let a growl escape through my lips. "Yeah I kinda figured that when he basically asked dad if he's allowed to deflower me." I shivered as I spoke those last words.
My mother chuckled. "Yeah he has some guts."
"For now." I giggled.
My father re-entered the room with Jacob who lit up when he saw me.
"I was so worried Ness."
"We were all worried." My father added.
My mother rose to her feet and joined my fathers side. "We will be on our way, we have dinner plans with Charlie."
"And you didn't invite me." I whined as I got to my feet.
"It's a double date." my father added quickly. "For married couples only, so when you get married in ten years you can join in too."
I stuck my toungue out at my father.
"You will come out tomorrow though right?"
"Next Friday."
"The kitchen has been fully stocked so there is no need to go grocery shopping any time soon. Your college class schedule are pinned by your bed and your car has been dilivered and is parked out front. The gps is programmed to get you from the house and to school when you needed be." My mother paused and then looked at my father.
"Remember to activate the alarm every night. Preferably even when you are indoors just incase." My father added.
They both gave me a long hug and a kiss on the forehead before they left.
Then it was just Jacob and I.
"So Ness, what do you want to do?" he asked me as he joined my side and ran his fingers through mine.
I froze as I glanced at him.
"Please move your hands off me Jacob, I don't want to be touched right now." I said as gently as possible.
His hand dropped immeadiately to his side.
"Are you feeling okay Renesmee?"
I shook my head. "I just want to be left alone for a little while. I need to think." I nodded towards my bedroom door. "Please leave."
Jake walked backwards towards the door, keeping his eyes on me the entire time. Then he closed the door that seperated us.
When I heard his footsteps on the stairs I let out a breath of relief. I was for sure alone this time, for now atleast.
I laid down in my bed and curled up into a ball and closed my eyes. It was well after 7 pm but I just wanted the day to end.
After twenty-three minutes of trying to fall asleep I finally managed it. In my dreams though there was unhappiness.
I was standing in the middle of a brightly lit room. Jake was there and so were two little children that looked like us, a boy and a girl. The feeling of drowning overwhelmed my body only I was frozen, weighted down by a ball and shackle attatched to my ankle. I felt trapped.
When my eyes opened the next morning it felt like I didn't sleep at all. Instead it was as if what little energy I had that previous night had been sucked out of me.
"Mom?" I called out as I pushed myself into a sitting position before getting to my feet.
There was no response.
I wanted to tell her about the dream I had. As I descended the stairs I froze as I remembered where I was. I was in my own home, alone, with Jake.
Suddenly I felt home sick.
"Stop being a baby Renesmee." I growled to myself before I continued my trek down to the main floor of my bedroom.
I was hungry so that meant it was time to make breakfast. Luckily I've watched my mother and father enough so I knew the basics.
I made the familiar journey down the grand staircase and into the foyer that led to the hall before entering the kitchen. I stopped in the doorway and watched him as flipped a couple eggs, bacon and hashbrowns onto two plates.
"Breakfast Renesmee?" Jake grinned as he pushed a plate towards me.
I couldn't deny that I wasn't hungry because I was, I missed dinner. I quietly pulled the plate to the furthest end of the counter away from Jake and took a seat on the stool.
"Are you alright?" He asked as he began massaging my shoulders.
I tensed up under his touch.
"Just relax Ness." he whispered in my ear.
"I can't with your hands on me Jacob Black!" I growled through gritted teeth.
His grip on my shoulders released and then he sighed before taking a seat before his breakfast. We ate in silence. When Jakes fork clattered against his empty plate my stomach sank.
"Did I do something wrong Renesmee?"
I shook my head. "I wish it was that simple." I felt my heart speed up rediculously as I dreaded the conversation to come.
"Why isn't it so simple?"
I shook my head. "I've been keeping a secret from you Jake."
He rose slowly to his feet and made his way to my side where he leaned causually against the counter.
"How bad can it be?" he asked. I could hear the nerves in his voice as he spoke.
I sucked in a breath of fresh air before I forced my eyes shut. I felt safer with my eyes closed.
"Ness, what's wrong?" His hands were cupping my face. "Ness..."
I pulled my face out of his grip and jumped to my feet before I headed out of the room. My first instinct was to run as far away as I could, that was impossible since I'd be putting myself in danger. My second instinct was to find somewhere to hide.
I made my way to the room that my father said was for our laundry. After I closed the door I locked it to keep Jake away. Then I took a seat.
Immediately my attention was grabbed as a large door stood before me. I was curious to where it went and I wanted more then anything to find out. It was like something was calling my name. I was enticed.
