Felicity walked resolutely towards the auditorium, a dirty-blond-haired gray-eyed guy accompanying her and holding her hand. Kevin had agreed to enroll into Eric's course so as to make her plans go smoothly. Hell, he'd give her whatever she wanted, he was that whipped. Even if she was using him to get at her true mate, he didn't care, as long as they got to spend some time together. Besides, there was always a slim chance she might end up with him. He wasn't losing hope. From what he heard, her mate was a douchebag so maybe she'd be better off.
"I'm really happy you came," Felicity told him seriously, a smile stretching her lips. "Aside from you, there's nobody I could have asked this favor from."
"Of course I'd come," was his soft response. "This stupid alpha doesn't know what he's missing."
Felicity smirked evilly, "Oh, he'll know soon enough."
Kevin chuckled and then hugged her sideways briefly. "I think we'll enjoy this."
"Of course we will. Now, let's play," she told him as she opened the door of the auditorium.
He only smirked in response, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
They walked in hand in hand, and the alpha, who had a clear view of them, obviously tensed.
'Not so indifferent now, are we?' Felicity mused sarcastically but refrained from looking at him for longer than a few seconds.
Kevin had her whole attention. He was whispering a joke in her ear and she giggled like the high schooler she had been not so long ago.
"Alpha dearest doesn't look happy," he told her once they sat down.
"Like I care," was Felicity's shrug-accompanied answer.
She knew Eric could hear them and that was what she was counting on.
"Where do you want to go later?"
"Surprise me," was her whispered response.
Whispering didn't disturb anyone and made the conversation seem more intimate at the same time. And with her mate's heightened senses, he could still hear them. So, it was a win-win situation.
The class went by quickly and soon enough, Felicity was gathering her things, preparing to leave, when Eric stopped by her desk.
"Can I have a word with you miss...?" He trailed off, not knowing what to call her.
"Miss Donnovan," she informed him tautly.
Kevin was about to leave them when she held onto the hem of his jacket, "Stay," she told him softly.
"Can't we talk alone?" Her lecturer asked, sounding irritated.
"There's nothing you can say I won't tell him afterwards," Felicity countered, crossing her arms on her chest in a demanding manner.
As the last student left the auditorium, the alpha shifted his angry gaze towards her face.
"What are you playing at, bringing a leech with you to college?"
'Well, someone's jealous,' she mused, liking the results of her little gift. If he was going to make her suffer, she would give him a taste of his own medicine.
"I have the right to study," Kevin told him with a smug smirk.
"Aren't you too old for studying?" Eric c****d an eyebrow at him in question.
"There's no such thing as too old to learn something," was Kevin's wise response.
Felicity looked between the two guys briefly and had to admit that Kevin looked better than her mate. Not that her mate wasn't handsome, he just didn't pull off the bad boy look like Kevin did with his leather jacket.
"Just spare me the games," Eric told them, his shoulders tense.
"What games?"
If anyone could pull off the oblivious look, it was Felicity.
"You know exactly what games I'm talking about," he countered, looking angrier by the second.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," she smiled innocently at him, inwardly giggling.
"Don't try to get under my skin!" He bellowed.
"Wow, easy tiger," she teased, not scared at all.
"Don't yell at her," Kevin immediately defended her, squaring his shoulders.
"Don't test an alpha. It's like playing with fire," Eric hissed through gritted teeth, "and you'll get burnt."
"Oh my, I'm so scared," Kevin let out, sarcasm coating his words.
"I wasn't talking to you," his rival let out through gritted teeth yet again.
"If you're finished, allow us to go," Felicity intervened in a calm voice before a brawl started between the two, "I still have another lecture."
"Whatever. Just heed my advice and stop playing games," was her mate's arrogant answer.
"Not everything I do revolves around you," she told him, her chin jutted in defiance.
Then, reaching out for Kevin's hand despite her mate's angry gaze, she left the auditorium. That should teach him a lesson.
"A werewolf I met invited me to this party later this evening, what do you say?" Felicity let out the moment they were out of earshot.
"I say I'm in of course," Kevin told her with a conniving smirk.
Since it was a werewolves' party, she was almost sure Eric and Lynn would show up. She'd have to up her game and not allow himto see her weak.
